I installed the quickVPN Client for use with RVS4000 small business router/VPN on a platform with Windows 7. It was not able to complete the VPN connection. I installed on Windows XP machine, both on the same network. The XP machine was able to connect just fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have RV220W at corporate office...intent is to have (5) groups of (3) users each connecting via VPN. Had assumed would be using QuickVPN and have set up users, etc and connections at current locations are quick, smooth, reliable. I have set up (2) locations (6 users so far). However, after 4th connection (no matter where or in what order) client hangs at "Verifying Network" and doesn't complete connection. So, I have unique usernames, etc but each of the (3) at a location are hitting the router with the same IP. Is this the problem? I'm sure the RV220W can handle 15 simultaneous connections, but can the router deal with (3) connections from the same external IP?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a netopia 3347W adsl modem/router that I have put in "ethernet bridge" mode. At that point the RV110W has to authenticate to ATT using PPPOE. I have verified the username/paswd for the PPPOE connection. The 110w will not complete the PPPOE connection. Looking at the logs it shows that it handshakes and authenticates with the PPPOE server. Then unexpectedly the log shows a termination with exit status 15. It then tries to renegotiate the PPPOE connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup the VPN access using QVPN with RVS4000 but ran into difficulties I was able to connect to the router using QVPN from WAN, and able to access the router's admin page (my router's ip is 192.168.0.1). However, I am unable to access anything else on the LAN, including servers and printers. To make it clear, I am able to access all servers and printers when I am on the LAN! But nothing when accessing from the WAN via QVPN.

To get an activation key, you need a registration key first. That is normal in the package. However, my wify like to cleanup up and throws stuff away that she should not do. So, I lost the registration key.
It is impossible to key a new registration key. The webstore does not have them. They are in the package and will not open an other one. Cisco (if you can get passed the ...you don't have a support contract...go away statement) does not even know that they have this product. Registration keys, never heard of it. But you get the normal ... go to the webstore or trendmicro.... And that after the statement, we don't know that product. How do you know that this is a trenmicro piece of software.....

RVS4000 setup at our office. QVPN installed on home pc with Win7 Home Edition and Norton Internet Security 2011. It gets the following error:
"The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait? "
QVPN version 1.4.2.1, RVS4000 router firmware updated from V2.0.0.3 to the latest V2.0.2.7 as it is the Version 2 Hardware. Same problem. I even uninstalled the Norton NIS 2011, rebooted the machine and enable win 7 firewall without any anti virus software installed, same error. I really need this working as I do a lot of work at home and need remote connection to my computer at work.

Currently on V1.3.0.5. Looking to upgrade to latest version, however the upgrade firmware page is greyed out. Same under Firefox 9 or IE 8. I have already rebooted router, with no change in behavior.

View 1 Replies View Relatedan RVS4000 shall establish a pptp VPN connection. The router is connected trough its WAN port to the first router which connects to the internet.
The PPTP VPN connection cannot be established but the pptp server can be pinged from the VPN router. Login data and password is OK. Connection can be established from a win7 computer without any problem.
My new RVS4000 (2.0.2.7) connects the WAN via PPoE with dynamic IP which is held at DynDNS and normally I see the RVS4000 via a router-to-router-VPN. That works fine so far, but every "some" days the router looses WAN connection (and with ist VPN). When this happens, last DynDNS-update is hours ago, so it didn`t reconnect. Looking on the routers site, the LAN is fully functional for clients that have got their DHCP-Information. New clients don`t get DHCP-Info (IP-address, DNS), both do not have internet access. The router`s WAN-summary shows, that it thinks to be "CONNECTED" but with empty WAN-IP and DNS entries. Klicking "DISCONNECT" and then "CONNECT" again solves the problem so far. The loss of connection is not the periodic break from the IPC, which is correctly identified and reconnected as configured. I wanted to trace the problem with the log, but there is also a bug. It stops logging at some time completely - neither email-log nor local log, so I never happend to be lucky to hit the point of loss of connection. Also the local log provides a first and next pages, but the next pages are always empty - not really useful.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have two RVS4000 at both ends of a VPN tunnel. The tunnel is up and runs fine. I can ping the two servers at the main office end of the tunnel, and cconnect to the resources of both servers. However, one of the servers, the terminal server, is unreachable via RDP. The other server can be reached via RDP for administrative purposes just fine, but the terminal server cannot be reached. There is only one difference that I can think of. The terminal server is reachable from the outside world via a redirected forwarded port on the RVS4000 at the main office.
The current firmware version is V2.0.0.3 at both ends. Is this a known anomaly for this revision of firmware?
Just recently purchased an RVS4000 to take the place of an old NetGear FVS336, which supported multiple NAT translations. It appears that the RVS4000 does not support this, any other models in the small business line support this? I only need this for a backup Internet connection?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded from a 512k adsl connection to a 16mb fiber optic connection.Whereas I never had a problem previously, my rvs4000 slows to a crawl once or twice per week. The only solution seems to be to cycle the power since the admin interface freezes. I also have to cycle the power on my two wireless ap to get them back up.I believe I have the latest firmware, is this a common problem on a faster connection?

I have a small business network, utilizing a RVS4000 router (Firmware V2.0.27)I am attempting to set up firewall rules to block certain web sites at certain times.I have successfully set up rules using source and destination ranges, to deny service 24 hours a day everyday.
However and here is the problem when I attempt to edit any of the rules (I want to change the time to certain hours of the day) it allows me to edit the rule but when I attempt to save I get an error message up saying there are invalid characters and it will not save the changes?create the whole thing with the changes I want it works fine, is this a known bug?
I have a RVS4000 with client VPNs setup and have created all 5 users......trouble I run into is that when one of the users attempts to connect to the VPN from a second device (ie the sixth device to connect to the VPN), the connection does not establish....cannot ping remote server (using QuickVPN). In looking at the logs, the device that isn't working is getting a different IP (172.16 vs 192.168). I know I'm limited to 5 users, but am I limited to 5 devices as well?

My IP address is in the Approved Client IP Addresses so it is excluded from the URL filtering and Web reputation rules.

I have the firewall disabled on both routers. Site A is using 192.168.3.1 and Site B is using 192.168.4.1. Any thoughts on why I cant ping one router from the other?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have Comcast cable (I believe) and it comes into a modem. The modem has a line out to an ethernet switch. Coming into the E switch is a line from the Upstairs router (Realtek PCIe GBE).I want MY computer to be completely private from the rest of the family, and be invisible if someone were looking. (I'm mom and I keep my frustration journal on my Microsoft Word). I don't want to use wireless.
So, I bought a Belkin N150 and put it between my computer and the switch, and the internet didn't work at all. However, if I use a line that comes from the Realtek router, it works. I am SO confused! (I found out that if you are hooked to the same router as the others in the house, they just have to be smart enough to configure that router and they can see everything you do on your computer!)

I have some issue from last 2 month on sf300.
The problem is that sf300 does not support complete dhcp, for that i put different internet modem.
I connected one internet modem in vlan 1 so users from that vlan can access internet and default gateway is nothing but Internet modem ip. user in the vlan are not communicate with other vlan because, other vlan users default gateway is Interface ip address. How i can give access to vlan 1 to access other vlan .

I am configuring VPN on an 831 rotuer using a dynamic-map configuration. I can connect to the network and I can see phase 1 and 2 complete from the debugs however from what I can tell I can only ping across the VPN. I can't connect to and web services or RDP to any hosts on the local network. Here is a copy of my config.

Site was running fine until the WLC had a hardware failure.
A new WLC was shipped out, was running 6.0.99 then manually upgraded to 7.0.98. Clients cannot authenticatewith recurrent logs messages like this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have finally been able to reconfigure my BEFSR41 V3 Wired Router to properly support my small server environment. I would like to know if there is a way to make a complete Backup of the current configuration that should be restored to the router if it should become "reset" to factory defaults. This happened to me approximately a week ago, and it took several days, a couple of phone support calls, and quite a bit of"grief" and aggravation/frustration before I managed to get everything re-configured correctly. If it had been "Backed up" to a file, I could have restored it and been back up and serving websites in a few hours. Instead it took almost a complete week! Is it even possible to actually backup the router? Or... must I just print each screen to be sure I get it all?
