Mar 16, 2010we have some strange problem on our c7200 IOS 12.2(31) with an e BGP peer. the eBGP session begins as usual and without any problem, all prefixes (Full BGP table) are announced to the neighbor, of course during this time the CPU goes high up to 80%. Then the both peers are in sync and traffic run as usual, but after some minutes the CPU goes again up to 80% and the debug on the neighbor side shows that it gets again the BGP updates for all BGP prefixes from our 7200 with "rejected - duplicated" comments for every received prefix, it means that it gets the updates for prefixes which are already exists in BGP table.
And it happens every 3-5 minutes. Truly said I can't explain why our 7200 always tries to send the Full bgp table again and again. The work-around was to configure the peer with "soft inbound", it's OK and we'd like to use it anyway , but from my opinion BGP shouldn't send Full BGP table very 5 minutes without "soft inbound" as well.

Feb 8, 2011I have lots of PPPoE users that get Virtual Access interfaces created upon login based on a virtual template. I need to traffic shape them. I know how to get it to work on an individual basis, because the policing within a service policy works fine. As soon as i change it to shaping it leaves things wide open.I really dont care how it gets done, I just need to be able to specify a speed to be traffic shaped and apply that to a virtual template. I need to limit speeds on the download and upload, i understand that the upload i will use the policing, but the download i need it to smooth out the flow and be traffic shaped, not policed.
Here is my Policies and classes:

The results i am getting is unrestrcited throughput, i am seeing about 40mb of throughput when the target is to limit to 1.65MB. As you can see from the output the PARENT class is seeing 279116 packets, but the shaper only saw 59. In all the examples i see on the internet these two numbers should be the same. Why is the shaper not acting on all the traffic crossing that class/policy?

Cisco WAN :: C2600 Config Registry / Password Recovery?
Mar 24, 2012I am studying for the CCNA and have my own lab. Several months ago I setup the lab and hand things running well, and decided to put it all away for a while. Alas, now that I have brought it all out again, I don't remember the passwords I used and have since destroyed my documentation, so this is perfect practice at password recovery/config maintenance type of stuff.
I am working on a 2610XM. When I power on the router, I see all the information pasted below. I have tried the password recovery processes described in the cisco knowledge base where we use the rommon prompt to load 0x2142, reset, then enable secret <password> and followed the remainder of the instructions, but when I reload the router after the process, the new password I've set still does not work.
Some things that are not consistent from the documentation that I am seeing are the messages Slot is empty and WIC is empty.
I am wondering if my router does not use 0x2102 for it's load, but it will not show what it is using and I can't run show version because of the password. I am connecting through the console port and using putty to access and configure. Below is a paste of the startup messages after the router decompresses it's image.

Sep 1, 2012I want to delete the first file c2600-i-mz.122-5d in the flash. Not only delete but also reclaim the memory held by deleted file.I followed a link and i ended up with the c2600-i-mz.122-5d marked as deleted in the flash but the memory was not reclaimed.When I restarted the router, it went to ROMMON mode. This is my understanding when router tried to boot from the flash, It tried to load the first file in the flash. Since the file was marked as deleted therefore Router went to ROMMON mode.Now my question is how could I delete the first file and reclaim the memory on 2600 router?

May 15, 2013I've enabled Cisco "Anyconnect Premium Peers" for client less ssl vpn connections, the obvious catch is that for ikev2 Anyconnect sessions it wants to use up the SSL license pool instead of the IPSEC pool (which I have lots of connection licenses for "Total VPN Peers : 250".
* Is there any way to configure Anyconnect to connect via IPSEC and use an IPSEC license (while keeping the Anyconnect Premium Peers enabled)?
* Do I have to consider 3rd party vpn clients, outside Anyconnect?

I have gotten it to work with SSL, but I can't seem to figure out how to get IKEV2 turned on. On the profile screen (attached) in the ASA when I check IKEV2 I get the cert screen, I check the cert, but then it fails to bring the cert and unchecks the block. The Network Design is simple. ASA IP on high side (outside) 172.20.206.8 with the client at 172.20.206.50. Local LAN is at 10.200.203.0/24.

Oct 25, 2012I have a L2L tunnel setup between two ASA's (v8.4). I used the wizard to set these up and selected the defaults of both IKEv1 and IKEv2, thinking that it would select one or the other. The strange thing is that now I see a separate session between these ASA's, one for IKEv1 and one for IKEv2. Both are passing traffic. Is this expected behavior? Should I disable IKEv1 to force only v2 since both are v8.

In attempting to set up a GUEST connection, I pulled up Cisco Connect which I originally used to set up my network. The BB Geek didn't use a key and followed a different procedure unknown to me.
As I face the Cisco Connect screen now, it tells me "Can't access your router settings. The router password has been changed." Then in the "Router password" block, it gives the original password I assigned.
I had written another name I thought was associated with the changes made by the BB Geek so I copied the password there now, inserted the new PW, and clicked Next. I was then asked if I wanted to proceed with the change ... but the change it was proposing was the exact PW I just copied. Confused, I cancelled the operation.
