View 1 Replies View RelatedQuestion re: DIR-655; Hardware ver A4; Firmware version 1.32NA
During bandwidth tests to several sites (principally speedtest.net) I get ping times of 10-11 ms, download speeds of 12+ to 17+ mbps but failure on upload tests using my DIR-655.
When I bypass the 655 and test directly with my cable modem, all (including upload) tests work reliably and consistently.
I have swapped the two ethernet cables involved as well as replacing both with new cables but the results are the same (uploads fail with 655 and work without it)
I have seen several postings over the the last year with this same problem but have never seen any comment from D-Link, or a solution from any reader.
Not that it should have any bearing, but I have TA785GE-128M motherboard and am running Windows 7 (patch current) on COMCAST
is this problem acknowledged by D-Link and is there a solution?
I plan on starting a high speed LAN for my Gaming LAN party's. We send 100's of GB of data over our LAN networking when we do this, so i need a good switch that can handle the stress of the massive data transfers. It needs to be a gigabit switch and at least 8 RJ45 ports.or is there a different one i should get all together? i cant spend a butt load. url...

I have over connected BGP routers connected to my live production network and I need to emulate the production network with GNS3. View 2 Replies View Relatedhowever recently when i check my internet usage log on my wireless company (Rogers) the usage is totally off from what my bandwidth tracker shows me. So i decide to turn off my wifi and see what happens, there has always been this weird wifi connection appearing whenever my wifi appears, then afterwards when i turn off my wifi the suspicious wifi connections disappear. is this possible that someone is using our wifi? i might just be overreacting but it has brought me to concern that if the usage continues my family will have to end up paying over $30 for extra internet use. it is very frustrating me because when i check my DHCP client table it only shows 3 connection, ethernet - my desktop which is not turned on, 2 wireless connection - my laptop and my sister's laptop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have small which I'm looking to implement and have built this on GNS3.
We have:
Router A in site 1
Router B in site 2
Router C in site 3
Router A and B are connection via a point to point 100M link and from Router C we have a 2 point to point one of which is 5Mpbs and going to Router A and Router B.
For Router C to reach Router A network it will go via Router B and these are 100M connection. When the link between Router A and B goes down. Router C should update and start using the 5m route.
For some reson, the routes are not updating. I have to do 'clea ip eigrp ne' for the routes to update and if I reload the routers all works well, it seems the problem is intermittent.
I'm using GNS3 in order to revise CCNA, the RIP part But I don't know why, i'v got a pbl with the routage table, especially with the metric which is wrong I don't understand wy the metric is always 1, because it should be 2 or 3 according to the network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have configured an Cisco 881 router in our lab with netflow commands and pointed to our network monitoring tool and I want to check if the tool can collect valid traffic statistics from this router (eg. utilization). The problem this router has nothing plugged into a production LAN that would potentially generate traffic to measure using this tool.
Is there a way to configure a Cisco router (ex. Cisco 881 router) to artificially generate network traffic to test that I have setup the monitoring tool correct to capture future utilization statistics?
I want to ping my GNS3 routers from my real LAN PCs. Right now I am able to ping those GNS3 routers from real PC on which GNS3 is installed. The network topology is something like this.
-IP of GNS3 PC on which GNS3 is installed. 192.168.1.102/24 default gateway of LAN: 192.168.1.1/24
I have created a loopback adapter and assigned the IP address of 192.168.1.200/24 (IP is also of same LAN) the cloud and virtual router is dragged and router interface is assigned the IP 192.168.1.201/24. I am able to ping my router interface from 192.168.1.102 (System on which GNS3 is installed). What I want is to ping my router's interface from other LAN PCs line 192.168.1.104, 192.168.105 or from my gateway 192.168.1.1.
I am trying to do a Multicast lab in gns3 with a tap interface in os x and a linux vm in virtualbox. The os x box is broadcasting to 224.1.1.1. I have verified IP connectivity. I am using PIM dense mode. When I perform a packet capture on the tap interface I see no traffic to 224.1.1.1. However when I ping 224.1.1.1 from os x I see the traffic. Attached is my topology

I'm getting below msgs in my ZBFW logs on my test router. .Apr 2 23:09:43: %FW-6-DROP_PKT: Dropping icmp session 115.186.192.153:0 10.40.2.100:0 on zone-pair ZP-OUTSIDE-INSIDE class class-default due to DROP action found in policy-map with ip ident 0
The bit I'm curious about is that I am NOT NAT-ting any ICMP. Hence why is the ZBFW even triggering against the LAN IP? It should only activate after NAT according to order of operations (and hence why unlike CBAC you put the inside local IP not the outside global IP).....
If the ICMP was directed at the WAN interface (not the 10.40.2.100 internal IP) then it is allowed, but morever even if blocked it should be logged against my WAN IP (which is publicly routable not a 10.x internal).
