Cisco WAN :: Maximum Etherchannels In 2960 / 2960S?
Apr 6, 2011I am interesting what is a number of maximum supported etherchannels in 2960 and new 2960S switches?
View 1 RepliesI am interesting what is a number of maximum supported etherchannels in 2960 and new 2960S switches?
View 1 Replieshow many etherchannels can the 2960S support when it is stacked? I understand it initially has 6 channels.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhat is the maximum number of etherchannels i can build on a Cisco 2960S stack. We hoping to connected 15 servers using 2 port channels between two stacked 2960 for redunancey. So what is the max number of channels can i build using the 2960S? Is the max 6 or is it more?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are designing a LAN Network for ourselves. The proposed design is as follows:
4 x 2960S switches in a Stack Access-Stack-I 4 x 2960S-PoE switches in a second Stack Access-Stack-II
2 x 3750X switches in a Stack Core-Stack
Now I would like to connect it in the following manner ?First,I would like to use EtherChannel using the 10Gig LinksSecondly, I would like to use Cross-Stack EtherChanel too.I have given a graphical illustration of the connectivity Now my Qs: a) Will the 2960S supports EtherChannel using the 10G links and the 3750X too... b) Does the proposed solution will work... or It will have any problems.
Any one who knows where I can find a documentation where it says the maximum switches per stack for the Catalyst 2960 family?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn a low-end switch like a 2960 the maximum VLANs is 255, as shown in the output of VTP status:
Maximum VLANs supported locally : 255
Number of existing VLANs : 245
When the VTP mode is changed to transparent, VLANs from the extended range can be added without increasing the number of existing VLANs - e.g. if I create VLANs 3000 - 4000 the number of existing VLANs is still listed as 245.
If MST is used to cut down on the number of spanning-tree instances - and assuming propagation of VLAN configuration via VTP is not required - is there any downside to using transparent-mode VTP to increase the number of available VLANs? It does feel like I'm cheating the maximum listed in the datasheet.
after upgrading about 35 Catalyst 2960 and Catalyst 2960S to IOS 15.0(2)SE2, we experience a memory leak on several switches. After some days / weeks the switches are not accessible via Console/Telnet/SSH/Web any more. Only SNMP seems to work properly.Attached users do not experience any decrease in service.
Trying to connect to the console, we get following error message:
"% Low on memory; try again later"
The only (temporary) solution is to reboot the switch. The behavior is similar to Bug CSCts52797.With regards to the Bug notes this bug should only affect Catalyst 2960 with 64MB of RAM and should already be solved with IOS 15.0(2)SE2.
We experience the erroneous behavior with
-WS-C2960-48TC-S running IOS 15.0(2)SE2
-WS-C2960S-48LPS-L running IOS 15.0(2)SE2
We're running two 5508 WLCs running 7.0.235.3 pushing out 7 WLANs. They are both live. Each WLC is connected to the same stack of 3750G running 12.2(44)SE6 via Etherchannels.I'm getting tons of MAC flapping errors similar to this:9373213: Feb 19 10:53:54.564 CST: %SW_MATM-4-MACFLAP_NOTIF: Host 843a.4b3c.4cec in vlan 752 is flapping between port Po12 and port Po11Each portchannel consists of ports on each of the two switches in the 3750 stack. Only VLAN 752 shows the flapping activity. LAG is enabled on the each of the WLCs. The portchannel and interface configs are identical, minus the channel-group command of course.Maybe completely unrelated....looking at CDP neighbors from the switch is incorrect:
WLC1 Gig 2/0/44 157 H AIR-CT550 Gig 0/0/1
WLC1 Gig 1/0/21 157 H AIR-CT550 Gig 0/0/2
WLC1 Gig 1/0/20 157 H AIR-CT550 Gig 0/0/3
[code].....
I am working in an environment where i have to use more etherchannels, any way that how many etherchannels could we create on Cisco Switch 3750 e. do they can utilize high process resources of CPU.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are suffering an issue with ASDM 7.1(1) on a 5525-X with 9.1(1) software. In the Configuration --> Interfaces window, I can modify parameters on physical interfaces, I can modify parameter on subinterfaces, but I cannot create new subinterfaces or Etherchannels through ASDM.
When I create a subinterface, entering all parameters, interface name, vlan id, security level, etc., then I click on "Apply" button and nothing happens. It doesn't send anything to ASA. If I click on another window, ASDM ask for applying changes, I click on it, but nothing is applied and window doesn't change. It happens only when creating new interfaces. If I create them through CLI, then I can modify parameters without any problem.

I have an existing stack of 4 x 2960-S switches connected by stack cables.I would like to add another 2960-S switch to the stack but am unable to as the 2960-S will only allow 4 x 2960-S switches per stack.how I would add the 5th 2960-S switch to the existing stack of 4 x 2960-S switches.

I need to provide a router to connect Internet circuit and run IPsec to MPLS network. Circuit is 10Mbps.
What is the max a Cisco 881 can handle if running IPsec? Also, if you are aware of any branch router (1941) which allows connection to future 4G LTE .
I've just connected via pppoe to a fibre 70/40mbs service but only get around 12mbs bandwidth. The FE4 interface reports running at 100mbs Full Duplex so was wondering if the dialer interface has some kind of limit around 12mbs?
If the router is limited to 10/12mbs of WAN throughout, any similar router with greater WAN throughput more suitable for a fibre service.
I have a 2960S Catalyst switch in my LAN, with the firewall and the servers in the same VLAN (vlan 3).All the servers and the firewall are in the vlan 3 are in the "192.168.19.0/24" subnet, the firewall has the IP "192.168.19.1".I can land on the firewall with a VPN (192.168.130.0/24) which has a complete view on the subnet 19/24.I can access, manage and get SNMP information of the Catalyst from the servers but I can't do the same from the VPN.Is there some feature I need to enable on the switch in order to allow 192.168.130.0/24 to access it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI read some papers about QoS. The thing is that I have to implement 30 switches with QoS to connect to a lot of Cisco IP phones. The switches are Cisco 2960S with code image "C2960S Software (C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(55)SE3". Should I use autoQoS feature or manually configure them?. How should I treat uplinks between access switchs and core/distribution? I have a lot of doubts regarding queueing, because all the info I had read its for another model/image.

I have over 20 units doing the same thing and it seems to be a software isssue but i dont see any bugs or posts on it. This is only on 2960S switches and not 2960 or 2960G units.
If i use the password reset feature to break the units into rom and then type "boot" instead of power cycling the unit, they will fail MBIST post tests. If the unit is power cycled or left to boot normally on its own, there is no issues and all post tests pass. I know MBIST is Memory Built In Self Test and was thinking maybe breaking the unit into rom disrupts those memory tests for some reason. I tried the following software and got the same results with all of the images:
122-55.SE2
122-55.SE
122-53.SE2
122-53.SE1
Logs attached are from the same switch, one with password reset procedure used and while left to boot on its own.

I have 6 cisco switches already on my network and I just got a 2960S PoE switch that I need to enable for VoIP. The voice vendor is coming in to setup our phone system for VoIP and I need to enable this new 2960S 48 port switch for the VoIP phones, I don't know how to do that, or other taskes needed for this project.
I was told that I need to uplink the new 2960S with the Catalysy 4507R using an ethernet cable and to "trunk the ports" and enable the 2960S as a VTP client - ok great - how?
I was told I also need to use the switch port voice VLAN command for the new VLAN - again, great - but how?
I actually was able to telnet into the switch and I gave it an IP and I created a new vlan but thats all. We are using non Cisco IP phones.
