One of our Routers 7204 rebooted unexpectedly. I try to access Output interpreter but is not working. The output from our router is the following:

i bought a new linksys WRT120N router and configured it. I have internet and connection is good.But i experience a very anoying problem. Router restarts from time to time. And it work some time and it restarts again.I updated the firmware expecting that this will solve this problem, but it seems that it didn't solve it. Routrer continue to restarts unexpectedly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 6 computers on a home network. 5 of them are running Windows 7 Home Premium and 1 is running Windows 7 Ultimate. My ISP is CBeyond, a T1 signal. I consistently get the "Windows has detected an IP address conflict" error on my screens and I have to reboot my router at least 5 times a day to get the wireless signal to connect. My laptop states that it is connected but I get the yellow triangle telling me that it has no internet connection. The firmware on the router is the latest version. DHCP is enabled on the router and set to Obtain Address Automatically and Obtain DNS automatically.
I can't figure out what's wrong. The 6 computers are wired through a switch connected to another switch connected to the router. This is also how the computers are connected on the network. I have several switches connected to the router. How do I configure the router so it doesn't have to be rebooted all the time to access the internet wirelessly?
This is an ongoing problem and I am wondering if a firmware update is called for. We have had the router for some time and to the best of my knowledge nothing has been done to fix the problem except the old "unplug for 10 seconds" routine.There are now four users on the home network with multiple devices.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are replacing a DS3 Internet connection with a 100 Mbps fastE connection from a Tier 1 Provider. I currently have a Cisco 7204VXR with 512 Mb DRAM and 128 Mb of Flash and two 10/100 ports that is connected to the DS3. I also have a 3845 with 1 Gb of DRAM and 256 Mb of Flash with two 10/100/1000 ports available.
We are currently running BGP, below is the summary
BGP table version is 88880414, main routing table version 88880414
379041 network entries using 44347797 bytes of memory
379043 path entries using 19710236 bytes of memory(code)
With the E1000 tthe wireless devices they seem to work just fine, I can access the internet just fine.
For my desktop PC in oder to use the router to get on the internet or to even use the Cisco Connect to check the router, the E1000 needs to be rebooted. I am unable to access the router otherwise. I have tried 3 different LAN cards all with the same results.
The latest firmware notes do not look like upgrading the firmware will work. My Router info from Cisco connect

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere are three RT-N56U routers in my family. I have one as does my dad and uncle. Bought all 3 about a year ago. They've been rock solid since.
However, my dad has been complaining of network issues, mainly lag and slow response. During Christmas yesterday, I took some time to troubleshoot it which ended in disaster. He was on an older firmware so I had updated it. After the update, the wireless would drop every 5-10 minutes after the router rebooted. I tried rolling back the firmware and there is still the same issue.I reboot the router, wireless comes up and within 10 minutes, the wireless is down.
Most of the clients on the network are iDevices. There are two iPod Touches, 4 iPad Mini's and iPad, two iPhones and an Apple TV, all wireless. Other than that, there is a PS3 and a bunch of wired clients. Looking in the routers logs, it appears that at least one device keeps requesting a DHCP request even though it has an address. Then at some point, the router spits out this error in the log: [code]
That error just keeps counting up, starting at 1 -- Based on google info it's related to wireless drops due to ASUS firmware issue with certain wireless cards. My guess is one of the new devices has a card that they don't support, causing this issue. I was stating to think, since he has so many iDevices on his network, an Airport Extreme?
My EA6500 has been working fine for the last few months but a few days ago i upgraded to the latest firmware 1.1.28.147876 - this was done by an ethernet cable, not by wifi. However i've noticed the router reverts back to the previous fw 1.1.28.146856 when the router is rebooted or factory reset. I've repeated the fw upgrade process and also done a hard reset before upgrading the firmware but no avail. Normally after firmware is 'upgraded' the router reboots and i get the message "firmware successfully installed" but then on subsequent reboots the firmware reverts back. I'm using local router access but even using smartwifi gives the same issue. When upgrading fw, i've tried both options online & manual but again makes no difference.
Don't really fancy calling Linksys support and going through 4 hrs of basic trouble shooting. Or perhaps Cisco have introduced a new automatic firmware downgrade option in their routers?
I was attempting to setup our 7204 Cisco router to use RADIUS for authentication via the AAA commands. I must have messed up when configuring it as it comes up via TELNET asking for a username and password but doesn't take my AD credentials. How might I login to this router to fix the config? Do I need to do a password recover process?
One note, I didn't save the running-config to startup-config, so if I restart the router will it load the startup-config, thus overwriting the running-config that wasn't working?
I am new to this and have ran into some problems. I butilt up my router I was able from the rom> prompt to get my router to boot from SLOT0:xxxxx

I have been having problems with my Linksys WMP600N adapter and trying to connect to the internet.It started a few weeks ago in my old house, where it wouldn't connect unless I rebooted the router, or it would take a long time (over half an hour after being turned on to connect.)Then when I moved it got worse.At the moment it finds the wireless signals avaiable to it, but when I click connect it fails very quickly. It doesn't even try and connect, as it doesn't ask me for my wireless password.When I do get it connected, if I reboot the router and mess around, it kicks me off after a while, and then instead of showing the network available to connect to, shows it with a red cross beside, and I have to go and edit the security settings, or delete the profile and try and connect again. Since switching over, when I periodically look at email on Live Mail, I frequently get a "Windows Live Mail" message saying "Your server unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity." I have never received this message from either one of the previous routers - LinkSys, Netgear.

I have a cisco 7204 vxr that terminates a 300 meg ethernet circuit asn well as an mpls DS-3. CPU increases along with utilization of the ethernet circuit. When the utilization gets to around 150 Mbps on the receive, the cpu is maxed out at 100%. I am wondering if the router can support the amount of traffic coming through it. The majority of the traffic is voip using g729 codec, so packet size is small. We are no where close to peak utilization and cpu is at 39%. Here is what I see currently:

Problem is when the traffic exceeding 8mbps we started getting packet drops. from the Cisco documentation it seems the tunnel bandwidth is by default 8mbps and there is parameter like Inherit/receive but those actually not change the tunnel interface bandwidth.If we just give tunnel bandwidth with bandwidth mentioned it allows me to give option of 100mbps but again the tunnel interface bandwidth remains 8mbpos only and probably that 100mbps is useful only for routing decisions.
i am using advance security 12.4.15T12 image. Whether this is a limitation or any other way to go beyond 8mbps for the tunnel interface (7204VXR-NPEG1 processor)

I had configured a Cisco 5508 series WLC. The APs used are Cisco 3502 LAP. The APs are configured to use DHCP for this ip addresses.
We had configured the DHCP server on the 2 Windows AD server previously and the APs were not able to get an IP address when the WLC was rebooted. To isolate the cause, we configured the DHCP server on a cisco 6500 switch. When we reboot the WLC, most of the APs are not able to grab an IP address. We had to remove and reconfigure the DHCP pool on the cisco 6500 for the APs to capture the IP addresses.
My colleague had feedback that they gotten a message that the DHCP pool had been used up. We tried to do a "show ip DHCP pool" but the switch did not recognise the command. IOS version used is Version 12.2(50r)SYS2.
We had a problem with the wireless client getting ip addresses from the windows DHCP server previously but problem was resolved after we disabled the DHCP proxy on the WLC.
What we are curious is why was the DHCP pool fully used on the Cisco switch and how could we check the number of addresses used other than running "show ip dhcp binding" and doing a count of the IP addresses?
Also why did we have to disable the DHCP proxy on the cisco WLC for the wireless clients to be able to get an IP address from the windows DHCP server?
We seem to be facing a number of problems with the DHCP functions for the wireless setup.
I would like to find out what the status is of the Cisco 7204 VXR and 7206 VXR routers?I understand they are EOLife and EOSale.Are they also EOSupport? we planning to upgrade 3 of them in our environment and management requires feedback around this.We thinking of going the ASR1000 route..

I cannot use HSRP, GLBP or VRRP as the other 2 gateways don't support theses protocols. Yet they do support OSPF, RIP, and BGP.... Take note that this setup is in a ISP scenario. The data is sent in blocks (SRDF) and we are sending changes only. However, we are getting requests from compliance to further secure this connection since it is a leased line. I guess I need to know how secure SRDF traffic is and then if required, how to secure it.
Can we create a simple VPN between the two routers without having to use a VPN concentrator or Firewall? If so, what IOS would be required? How much impact will the VPN have on current bandwidth?
I have 350 WAP (1142n) running of two WLC 5508 (IOS version 7). WLCs are not located on the same subnets/locations and are not configured as mobility groups. The vlan ids on both wlcs are not identical.
