Cisco Wireless :: 4400 Client Keeps Disconnecting On Regular Intervals

May 29, 2012

We are running  WLAN using WPA2-enterprise with AES & IAS server.Mostly we are using AP's 1131 and Cisco WLC 4400.I added on a new location 2 AP 1142G and since the installation I got 3-4 clients having regular disconnections.Basically they are connected immediately to the infrastructure but after a certain amount of time the Win7 icon is having this yellow exclamation sign, and we can see that the connectivity is gone (however the IP settings seems to be still in place, but ping or network browsing is not possible).Stopping the WLAN and starting it again solve immediately the issue (via software or via the notebook switch). Normally the problem doesn't resolve by itself.

I was working beside the laptop having the problem with (my own laptop) during the person got 3 disconnections, mine was running like a charm. We have 85% of the people there working errors free.Checked the 1142 AP for any logs or errors, interfaces status etc...Checked the switches behind, interfaces seems running smoothlyChecked IAS / WLC / WCS for any logs that can indicate an issueCompared WLAN adapter settings of the faulty laptop with mine, discovered some differences and adapted it.Compare the WLAN SSID config in Win7 with mine and adapted the slighty differences found.Used WCS troubleshooting client tool. What I will do again :Verify if the persons having the issue have the same laptop modelVerify settings in the BIOS Verify WLAN adapter driver versionVerify BIOS versionUse WCS troubleshooting client tool on my own laptop at this place.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E1200 Drops Connections At Random Intervals

Jun 29, 2012

Router is connected to my ISP with the option Keep alive and redial value of 20 seconds (the lowest i can set). There are two distinct problems: Router drops connections at random intervals. It can happen once a day or several times a day. It always happens overnight (so every morning it isn't connected). This doesn't seem to be related to ISP as direct connection to computer is stable. The Keep alive option isn't working. When it drops connection it isn't trying to re-eastablish it for at least 2 minutes (the longest i have waited so far, 6 times the redial value configured). Producing external traffic (e.g. constant pinging of some host by IP address, refreshing some web page) doesn't work. When i log on to admin console (browser based) simply clicking connect button brings connection back online. I've even been looking at status page constantly refreshing to see if it ever made a single attempt and it appears it didn't.I did my "homework" before posting (upgraded FW to 2.0.02 build 3, finetuned MTU).

Cannot Connect To A Regular Wireless Router

Jul 28, 2011

I use my laptop in Italy most of the time on a wireless router that uses a PPPoE connection. Once I'd got my head around setting that up it works fine. However since I've come back to the UK today I now cannot connect to a regular wireless router, its just not 'seeing it'. I have used this connection in the UK before without problems and the setting are all still saved from my last trip back but it doesnt show up when I try to connect. Is this something to do with the laptop being set up on the PPPoE connection in Italy? Ive deleted the PPPoE connection but that hasnt made a difference

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.2 Hangs On Connecting With MS AD At Random Intervals

May 30, 2012

I have a simple ASA, ACS, AD schema for RA VPN authentication. All is working for a few months now, but since the initial deployment we have this connectivty issue regarding ACS and MS AD. At random intervals, 1 month/1 week, the ACS connection status becomes "DISCONNECTED" although the CLI shows that ad client is running. But because of that, no RA VPNs can be authenticated. Clock is not a problem, since it didn't change automatically nor was manually configured prior to the malfunction.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Rebooting At Random Intervals?

Jan 27, 2013

our RV220W router has been experiencing random reboots throughout the day, causing a network outage for our local network for the few minutes it takes for the router to start up again. We've seen it reboot at least 5 today alone (and the time is currently just a little over 1pm).I'm having trouble finding the reason for these reboots in the router's logs, although I find these two lines repeating in the error log:

Mon Jan 28 13:20:52 2013(GMT+0100) [rv220w][System][EVTDSPTCH] umiIoctl (18, UMI_CMD_DB_UPDATE(4)) failed. table=dot11STA row=11
Mon Jan 28 13:20:52 2013(GMT+0100) [rv220w][System][PLATFORM] /pfrm2.0/bin/bwLimitConfig /tmp/system.db 18 dot11STA 11 failed. status=-1

I'm not sure why these messages pop up, since we're not using the bandwidth limiter module of the router (granted, we do use QoS profiles to ensure our own LAN is prioritized over the guest VLAN). I'm also not sure whether this is related to the router reboots.

I also find the following repeated line in the warning log:

Mon Jan 28 12:50:50 2013(GMT+0100) [rv220w][Kernel][KERNEL] ERROR:endChantRecv: protocol PNAC returned !OK

The router is currently running on firmware version 1.0.4.17 (latest official release), since we needed support for hairpin connections (as I found out in a previous thread of mine). I've seen the suggestion of downgrading to a previous firmware version in another thread, which has possibly solved it for the poster in that thread, but as we really need the hairpinning support, I don't know which firmware version is safe enough to downgrade it to, if needed.

Regular Packet Loss On Wireless Network?

Apr 6, 2012

I am connecting to a Wireless network, through a ZyXel ZyAIR G-4100v2 router. My problem is that I am experiencing very regular packet loss every minute or so. This lasts for around 5-10 seconds on average. I am running XP with the latest service pack. So far, I have checked out;Wireless Zero Config scanning of new stations (disabled that feature).Xirrus network scan (signal is fine and consistent). I am not suffering from any degredation in signal, the problem seems to be that the router is simply not allowing anything through at regular intervals.

Cisco :: 2504 Wireless Controller / Regular Packets Drops

Feb 17, 2013

I have deployed a cisco 2504 wireless controller along with four (04) lightweight access points (1041N) in four floors respectivly. The clients connect to the AP which is deployed in the lowest floor have regular timeouts/packet drops. Further this particular ap operates at channel 11 and it has around 11-13 rough access points in the same area and operates in channels such as 1,3,6,9,11. The DCA (dynamic channel allocation) is set to auto in the WLC. Further each ap has maximum of 07 -10 clients at any given time and I have changed this particular ap and checked still the result is same hence there is nothing wrong with the ap.

D-Link WBR-1310 Limited Access At Random Intervals

Jan 18, 2012

I have a WBR-1310 router that for the past few weeks has been giving me 'limited access' issues at psuedo-random intervals. The router functioned perfectly for a long time, I dug it out of storage about 8 months ago, and up until Christmas it was working fine, then both my roommate and I got tablets. Now our router is supporting 6 devices (PS3, 360, lappy, 2 tablets, smartphone) and occasionally more (other peoples phones, roommates laptop once he gets it repaired). However my research online has led me to believe that I should be able to support near unlimited wireless devices on the network (though effectively only around 30). Still, these extra two tablets are the ONLY change to the network that happened immediatly prior to this problem starting. Now I find that when I'm home alone I can go for the whole day with no network issues, but as soon as my roomy gets home and starts to use his devices the network craps out. unplugging the router and modem for 30 seconds fixes the problem temporarily, though the time before it craps out again ranges from hours to minutes.

I CAN plug my lappy into the modem directly when the router is not functioning and still have internet access, so it's definitely the router with the issue. All devices except for the PS3 are using wireless. I've done a hard reset to the router and set it back to factory settings on two occasions, I've changed the SSID and passphrase to get others off the network, I've changed the security type twice, I've tried some suggestions for similiar problems online such as enabling 'gaming mode' on my routers homepage, and setting a custom IP address (I used 10.0.0.1).Over the last 72 hours or so (the problem has existed for a few weeks) I've also received a few messages about my laptop having an IP address conflict; unsure if that is related, but I'm still able to access the internet when I get that message (albeit slower than average) [code] I will update this with another ipconfig the next time my internet dies; which I'm sure will be sometime today.

Wired PC Randomly Disconnects From Network At Random Intervals?

Feb 11, 2013

Wired PC randomly disconnects from network at random intervals each dayoday it has done so 3 times. The only way I have found to get it working again is to reset the router which can be inconvenient. When it disconnects all wireless devices continue to work and I have no issues like this with my wired consolesI switched to using a static IP address, since having an automatic one gave me the same results [i have since switched back to automatic]Be happy for any suggestions on how to sort this. I am using W7 OS and I'm using an Orange router. I don't know if its relevant, but when I go to reset my router I have noticed that the download light on my router is flashing like crazy when my PC has disconnected.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N Requires Regular Reboots?

Jul 25, 2012

So I have a WRT160N firmware v3.0 wired connection to my PC, and at least once a day my connection speed drops from 2mbs down to almost dial up speeds at 60kps. Just unplugging the router then plugging it back in seems to fix it every time.   I've contacted my service provider and they say there's no issue on their end, and since I don't get this problem when I plug the modem directly to the PC I agree with them.  I've done a factory reset and that didn't work.  I've gone through the FAQ and can't find anything useful in there.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Wrt54g - Regular Wifi Connection Failure After Updating To 4.21.5?

Aug 26, 2012

I recently updated my WRT54G V3 to frimware 4.21.5 and now get regular wireless connection issues.  The wired connection never has any problem (can connect to the router and the internet), but none of the wireless devices can see either.

The problem happens every couple of days, and cycling the power seems to be the only fix. When the problem does occur, the wireless devices don't even see the broadcasted SSID.  But cycling the WRT54G's power fixes that.

I've gotten a few suggestions to do a "30-30-30" reset, but can't find exactly what that entails.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Drop Signals On Fairly Regular Basis

Nov 13, 2012

So here's my issue, I just bought this EA4500 so I could use the 5.0 Ghz and get a new 2.4Ghz as my old Netgear would drop the signal on a fairly regular basis. I've set the channel on 2.4 to 1, 20 Mhz Channel, and my neighbors are for the most part using channels 6 and 11 (one guy is using channel 2 at 40Mhz but has a very low signal strength). The signal drops out sometimes as often as every 5 minutes, and now it is doing it on my new router. Here's the kicker, the 2.4 band falls out from my router and some of my neighbor's routers, no new signal seems to come up, but the 5.0 band on the EA4500 is just fine, as is the wired route. Is the 2.4 band just being assaulted at my home and I'll have to deal with it, or is it that my new router, old router, and my neighbor's routers, all suck, and we should all get refunds? Any solutions to troubleshoot this beyond running a netstumbler like software, setting hard channels (including width), and long hours of trial and error? I am running this all from my macbook air, the 5.0Ghz is at 40Mhz, is the only signal, and is on a fixed channel.

Cisco Wireless :: 4400 DSCP Mapping Toward 802.11e QoS

Aug 18, 2009

According to product bulletin no 3209 for the Cisco 4400 series, the Access Point supports 802.11e WMM.

My question goes to DSCP mapping, according to IEEE and your bulletin the DSCP field in the IP header should be set to 46 (10110 00) for mapping to a 802.11 QoS voice priority 6/7.But my Wireshark trace revealed 4400N is mapping toward with 802.11 QoS is set to Priority 5 Video.

If I google DSCP mapping toward 802.11 QoS all IEEE documention I found says EF /Voice should have 46 or 101xxx in the DSCP IP field but running through Cisco and HP docs gives 46 or 48 as value, that is the correct value. [code]

I was able to create a log in.HTML and download to the wireless controller, but my problem is how would I get an agree button and when a user click on it and it would redirect to a website. I've followed the following link but no luck. {URL}. the link doesn't tell me weather I should create an accept button manually or is there a setting on the controller that need to check?  the link also provide some info. about: Configure Client Machine for Web Pass through, but where should I download the Cisco Aironet Desktop Utility?  I've download ACUv502005.exe file for my windows 7 but after the installation it didn't work for me. if you know how to configure the web-pass through.  I been working for this for a week now and didn't find the info. that I was looking for.

Cisco Wireless :: 4400 - IP Or MAC Filter On 1522 AP?

May 21, 2013

I have a wireless sytem with a WLC 4400 and several 1522 Access Points. They don't actually function as Access Points because I'm using radio communication only for backhaul. There are no clients connected to the Access Points. All traffic on the network comes from the devices connected on the LANs that are bridged through the APs ethernet port.

I would like to create filters to allow only certain devices to be able to transmit over the radio link. I've used this in the past on 1310 units and it was very easy to do via GUI. This filter could be either by IP or MAC Addresses. IP would be better for me.

Public IP address used for PAT:

object network INSIDE_192.168
