View 2 RepliesWe have 3 sf-300 series switches in Layer3 mode deployed in different offices. We have found that approximately every 2-3 months at all 3 locations users experience a serious reduction in bandwidth. Only after rebooting the cisco does the problem go away and we're okay for another few months. some setting/feature that may be contributing to this? We are only using several ports and 1 static route on each switch. We are not using any of the bells and whistles on the switch. 2 of the switches are using the original firmware, whereas the other is using the newest firmware. Maybe this is just what we should expect from a Small Business switch?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm working as a network engineer for a service provider, and we had just gone through a pretty large scale upgrade throughout our network and service.But not long after the upgrade (or maybe ever since the upgrade, we can't confirm this because we probably missed it out due to many other links to be tested), we met a peculiar problem.Everything seems to be running fine most of the time, but there has been some weird 'ghost-like' activity which have been causing inconsistent network disruptions. At times, certain portions of the network can't communicate with other subnets.And most obviously is the problem with a continuous ping and a traceroute simultaneously. Ping is usually normal, but until a traceroute is attempted, it times out at the same time as tracert fails to obtain the route.Besides, performing a ping from the 2nd closest hop address, 10.250.253.251, which is a cisco layer 3 switch also has problems, the results shown are as belowType escape sequence to abort[CODE]

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a simple ASA, ACS, AD schema for RA VPN authentication. All is working for a few months now, but since the initial deployment we have this connectivty issue regarding ACS and MS AD. At random intervals, 1 month/1 week, the ACS connection status becomes "DISCONNECTED" although the CLI shows that ad client is running. But because of that, no RA VPNs can be authenticated. Clock is not a problem, since it didn't change automatically nor was manually configured prior to the malfunction.
View 2 Replies View Relatedour RV220W router has been experiencing random reboots throughout the day, causing a network outage for our local network for the few minutes it takes for the router to start up again. We've seen it reboot at least 5 today alone (and the time is currently just a little over 1pm).I'm having trouble finding the reason for these reboots in the router's logs, although I find these two lines repeating in the error log:

I'm not sure why these messages pop up, since we're not using the bandwidth limiter module of the router (granted, we do use QoS profiles to ensure our own LAN is prioritized over the guest VLAN). I'm also not sure whether this is related to the router reboots.
I also find the following repeated line in the warning log:

The router is currently running on firmware version 1.0.4.17 (latest official release), since we needed support for hairpin connections (as I found out in a previous thread of mine). I've seen the suggestion of downgrading to a previous firmware version in another thread, which has possibly solved it for the poster in that thread, but as we really need the hairpinning support, I don't know which firmware version is safe enough to downgrade it to, if needed.
I am working with a client who is adamant their backbone is fine. However, I am unable to get a single iperf connection to generate anything more than 9.5 megabit/s, and can go all the way up to 322 megabit/s with multiple streams before it looks like we are saturated. Note the example below for a single stream has a 1MByte window, with 8kb we were only able to see 2.4 mbits/sec per stream (as seen in the per stream in the example below). Where would you begin to look for why we cant seem to exceed 2.3mbit/s with an 8kb window, or 7.88 with a 1mbyte.

When I access the page from my home network (using multiple browsers and multiple computers) I get a result that references the job opening from last year, and doesn't have an application button. When I access the site using my 3G connection on my phone, or when accessed from any other internet connection, I get the new page which includes information about the 2013 job opening, and has an application button. When I try to enter the URL for the application page on my home network, I get a 404 error. If I turn my wifi off on my phone and reload the same page, it resolves to the correct page.

On Performancetest there are 2 tests to run for Network speed, TCP and UDP. The TCP speed test came back with an average 62000kbps (7.5Mb), and the UDP was 89000kbps (10.8Mb). As I'm running a 100mb network, shouldn't the results of been higher?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are running WLAN using WPA2-enterprise with AES & IAS server.Mostly we are using AP's 1131 and Cisco WLC 4400.I added on a new location 2 AP 1142G and since the installation I got 3-4 clients having regular disconnections.Basically they are connected immediately to the infrastructure but after a certain amount of time the Win7 icon is having this yellow exclamation sign, and we can see that the connectivity is gone (however the IP settings seems to be still in place, but ping or network browsing is not possible).Stopping the WLAN and starting it again solve immediately the issue (via software or via the notebook switch). Normally the problem doesn't resolve by itself.

Just setting up and testing a Cisco 891-K9 router. Used CCP for basic setup, figure I'll tweak any settings needed later.For the firewall, I chose the default "medium" security setting in CCP, then added some holes (already setup in NAT) for outside access in.
Now on to the real question:I noticed that I am now unable to click through google search results. On any borwser. Clicking on any search result simply loops back around to the same google search page. If I disable Javascript on the browser, everything works as expected. So it appears that the firewall is preventing something in google's scripts from redirecting and "clicking through" to the final destination page.
I'm familiar with our old Pix firewall commands, but still a relative newcomer to the zone based firewall and commands for this new 891, (relevant Config pasted below) (Gi0 is the WAN interface)

I have a WBR-1310 router that for the past few weeks has been giving me 'limited access' issues at psuedo-random intervals. The router functioned perfectly for a long time, I dug it out of storage about 8 months ago, and up until Christmas it was working fine, then both my roommate and I got tablets. Now our router is supporting 6 devices (PS3, 360, lappy, 2 tablets, smartphone) and occasionally more (other peoples phones, roommates laptop once he gets it repaired). However my research online has led me to believe that I should be able to support near unlimited wireless devices on the network (though effectively only around 30). Still, these extra two tablets are the ONLY change to the network that happened immediatly prior to this problem starting.Now I find that when I'm home alone I can go for the whole day with no network issues, but as soon as my roomy gets home and starts to use his devices the network craps out. unplugging the router and modem for 30 seconds fixes the problem temporarily, though the time before it craps out again ranges from hours to minutes.
I CAN plug my lappy into the modem directly when the router is not functioning and still have internet access, so it's definitely the router with the issue.All devices except for the PS3 are using wireless. I've done a hard reset to the router and set it back to factory settings on two occasions, I've changed the SSID and passphrase to get others off the network, I've changed the security type twice, I've tried some suggestions for similiar problems online such as enabling 'gaming mode' on my routers homepage, and setting a custom IP address (I used 10.0.0.1).Over the last 72 hours or so (the problem has existed for a few weeks) I've also received a few messages about my laptop having an IP address conflict; unsure if that is related, but I'm still able to access the internet when I get that message (albeit slower than average) [code] I will update this with another ipconfig the next time my internet dies; which I'm sure will be sometime today.
Wired PC randomly disconnects from network at random intervals each dayoday it has done so 3 times. The only way I have found to get it working again is to reset the router which can be inconvenient. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the Qwest/Actiontec Q1000 modem/router. I go to the ip address using my web-browser and open up advanced configurations -> access scheduler. I select a computer (and it automatically adds the MAC address) and then the days/times I want the internet to be accessible. However, when I click "add" (to add my internet allowance to the scheduler list) it just says 12:00 to 0:00, which is essentially permanently blocking the internet for that computer.

I used the installation disc and set up a WPA password, named my router, and my network. For the installation, it seemed I could not even start without physically linking the router to my laptop with the included rollover cable. I finished that, and ever since my wireless adapter has been disabled. Whenever I attempt to enable it, I get an error; my laptop shuts down and I'm presented with blue screen. The only way I've been able to get back to normal is to reboot in safe mode and than do a system restore.

Here's my config. When it blocks google, it blocks it with the terminated by inspection engine, reason - disconnected, dropped packet.
