I have AP3500e serises and I need to cover distance up to 300m in directional point. I was trying to find any materials about distance which are covered by different types of antennas but I can't . I think I will prefer to use external antena , but can I get a converter from RP-TNC to N type connector.

I have a set up 50 qty AP1242 (AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9) installed with a single (1 qty) ANT1728 Antenna..I am not happy with the coverage..Is it possible that I can add another 1 qty of ANT1728 antenna to the exiting AP1242 to imporve the coverage?
AP1242 had dual RPC-TN connected. But I am not completely sure that wether 2 qty of antenna (ANT1728) can be connected to a single Access point (AP1242). I am also concern regarding the power requirement.
I would like to upgrade my existing Wlan to the following configration -AP1242 connected with dual antenna (AIR-ANT1728 x 2 qty) to improve the coverage.

the best antenna to use in high-ceiling environments, as in 25 feet or higher. He was in favor of using a high gain, omni, such as a the AIR-ANT1728. I was against this form of antenna due to their increased horizontal radiation and decrease of vertical. I was more in favor of an antenna similar to AIR-ANT24 30V-R. I've seen successful deployments with both options, but curious what the community has to say on the matter.

We are looking to deploy two Nexus 7009 cores at our two datacenters. They are approximately 2 miles apart. We are hoping to have 10G Dark Fiber between the buildings and therefore dedicate a pair for FCOE between the cores using 10G Long Range SFP's. I read that the Nexus 5000 series had a limit of ~3 km for FCOE. Does the same hold true for the 7000 series? I thought I read somehwere that the buffers were larger on the 7000 series and therefore would be able to do ~30 km.

I have the awus 1k awus036h wifi usb adaptor with the crappy stock 2db antenna. I was told by some randomer on a forum that getting a larger antenna doesn't increase the power output of the adaptor. IIRC this is directly against what I've read in the past but I forgot where so am unable to say one way or the other. I remember reading that the larger the antenna the more microwaves it radiates.Plus would it make it a health concern? Currently I have my adaptor in the other room maybe 2-3 metres from me separated by a plaster wall. enna I can if it is deemed safe or as much so as before pretty much since I have been using it for a while w/o probs. I was thinking of getting something in the range of 10db-14 db- maybe even going for an outdoor antenna but keeping it inside so long as it is affordable which they seem to be.

Im cleaning up a recently inherited WCS server. The map im currently working on has the 1242 ap with AIR-ANT1728. When configuring the AP what should the elevation be for the antenna. It is currently set for 0 up with an azimuth of 90 degrees. All the AP's in our plant our mounted on roof girders with the antennas pointing down.

We have a vehicle with an AIRONET1300 wirless bridge and an outdoor antenna that looks like the AIR-ANT1728 for wirless point to point between two vehicles. I say looks like because I have no documentation as to what it actually is.
We have a 2800 router/HWIC-3G-CDNA-S 3G card with the small indoor antenna 3G-ANTM1919D for remote access to the cell phone towers.I want to buy a larger antenna for the 3G and move it outside of the vehicle.
My question is if I buy the 3G-ANTM-OUT-OM can I mount it outside on the same pole within inches of the AIR-ANT1728 ?
It seems one operates in MHZ and the other in GHZ but i'm not sure what mouting two strong itms like that together will do.

I 'm administration an Aironet 1242ag, and we are currently buying an AIR-ANT1728 as antenna. The standard cable for the antenna is 0.9m long, and It could be insufficient for my needs.
So a few questions:
Can i extend it ?
AIR-CAB050LL-R could fit?
The connectors should be 1 male, 1 female?

The main room (my room, east end of house)
Gaming PC (gaming, downloading, netflix streaming) non wireless
Wife's Laptop (occasional streaming, general internet surfing)

The general purpose of all this is just have wireless across the whole house for mobility, my room is the priority as far as bandwidth usage and coverage. Also i will be purchasing an N router for my room and moving the G router to my moms.

When I set up the E4200, the LinkSys tech had me code the name aquapanda and aquapanda1 for the "guest"....now when I look at the computer right hand corner icon I can see the wireless networks available in my area and I see aquapanda as "secured" and aquapanda1 as "unsecured" does this mean somebody in my neighborhood and use aquapanda1? I entered a password for aquapanda which is what I am using. Aquapanda1, the quest "unsecured" network has a small yellow icon showing but I do not remember entering a password for this...does my password for aquapanda cover the aquapanda1 network?

I am currently trying to find the method or mechanism for calculating the distance between two wireless mobile nodes.Let's say, there are 2 nodes (node B and C) coming in communication with node A. How can node A knows whether node B or node C is nearer than the other? Is it possible to find it out by using RSSI? or are there any other mechanisms to calculate the distance?

I cannot make a long distance fax with my phone card & HPOffice Jet 6500A-It will take the long distance fax # then say long distance is not supported. If I dial my phone card # - It then asks to press 1 for english, 2 for spanish and there are no dials lit to enter the language choice. If that would go through, I could enter my pass code then dial the long distance fax # once my available minutes are confirmed. It seems like this was not thought out on this machine - how am I to make a long distance fax with out having to purchase long distance service from the phone company?

I have a client family who will be moving into a big one floor (but on a giant slope hill as if it had two floors) house. About 88 feet seems to be the longest distance from a small room with the new cable modem. This is based on Google Maps' aerial shot: [URL] Longest Distance FromACableModemRoom.jpg (right side/east is a huge hill with trees). Will an old wireless Linksys WRT54GL router be able to handle this far distance with fast speeds and stability? If not, then which wireless routers can do it? It would be nice to have third party firmware options like Linksys WRT54GL routers. Also, fast speed like gigabits for fast local file transfers between computers in the big house! 100mb/sec is slow these days! Stability and support are important too. The routers doesn't need to be the latest too

I was provided with a new wireless modem from our internet service provider (the old modem was antiquated and needed updating). After this, i have been unable to connect to the internet on my laptop on a wireless basis. I can search for the modem via the usual means and seemingly connect, but when i am connected it states that i have 'Local Access' only and i am unable to access the internet at all. I am also unable to connect to the internet on a wireless basis when in safe mode.I am however, able to connect using a Ethernet cable from the modem. My laptop is fairly old but it is fine for our needs and thus i do not really want to change it unless totally necessary. I just wonder if it is something relatively simple that i am overlooking? My son also has a more modern laptop, and he tells me that he can use the internet via our new modem without any problems. Which would suggest there is nothing wrong with the modem. The operating system is Windows Vista, if that makes any difference.

basically my wireless speeds are around 0.5mb when i do a speedtest on windows, however on safe mode it will be 12mb. there's obviously some sort of conflict which i have struggled to identify.
here is what i tried
- fresh installs, although at the start the speeds are fine but once i install more drivers/programs it will do it
- installed different wireless drivers
- disabled certain processes/services

Region : Hongkong
Model : TL-WR1043ND
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 120405
ISP : Netvigator Broadband (18Mbps ADSL)
I'm having a problem with my TL-WR1043ND becoming non-responsive after a few days of uptime. This is actually my second 1043. I bought it because my first one (hardware version 1.4) has been rock solid -- I've not had to reboot it for over 2 years. (I don't have its firmware version handy at the moment, but I recall it's from 2010.)I needed this new router for a second location, but it has not been functioning correctly. It is hardware version 1.10 and shipped with the latest firmware, 120405. is it safe to downgrade the 1.10's firmware to the one that's running on the 1.4? Or is the hardware sufficiently different (e.g. different bootloaders)
