I've been working with a client's integrated 3750 WLC running 4.0.179.11. I want to upgrade the code because it is old plus I am having DHCP trouble. I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it OK to upgrade to SWLC3750K9-5-2-193-0.aes ? or do I need to go through 4.2 first ?
2. Will that code upgrade the bootloader at the same time?
3. How can I make sure there is enough flash space on the WLC?
4. Are there any special considerations to plan/prepare for?
The DHCP issue is failure of associated clients to get an IP address with this message found in WLC debugging:
I'm trying to upgrade a 3750-24TS from c3750-ipservices-mz.122-25.SEE2 to a more recent image. On the first pass, I got
Error: There is insufficient space in flash: to install the requiredError: image. Clean up some old images, and try again.
So I used the delete /recursive flash:image-dir-name to clean out the old files, but I'm still getting the same message after doing this. What's the problem? Now I have a switch with no IOS and need to at least get something on there.

How to upgrade the IOS of the Integrated wireless AP in a Cisco 881W using TFTP server (I do have software)Router side is not an issue it is the integrated AP that gives problem?
I have integrated Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Controller installed in my E6510.after installing updated driver from Intel and running hardware test it stopped working (displays "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" in driver details page). Also it says that device is 82577LC (it used to be 82577LM).
Intel hardware test displayed "EEPROM Failure" message. Looks like this test damaged network card firmware somehow. How do I restore/reset EEPROM of the network cad?i also tried deinstalling and reinstalling previous version of driver from Dell - no luck.
The wireless client can't get the DHCP address when I enable the On-MAC-Filter-failure, MAC Filtering and Web Auth. Client can get the DHCP address when I only enable the Web Auth in the same WLAN SSID. The WiSM verion is v7.0.235.0. [code]
I have tried to upgrade the firmware to the latest greatest but keep getting the "Incorrect image file" error. I bought two of the V1 units and had no trouble with one of them but the other is frustrating me. I have reset it and even tried a tftp upgrade of the firmware but still get "Incorrect image file" even in tftp.
I was prompted by Cisco Connect to upgrade the router software. During this process it came back and said the update failed. At this time the network connection dropped. The power light is now flashing on the device.
I have a Cisco/Linksys E2500 router. I connected to it through one of the Ethernet ports with a Microsoft Windows XP Pro machine and installed and ran the setup software. Windows was able to connect to the router and to the internet through the Siemens Gigaset 4300 DSL modem to my internet provider, Windstream.I cannot get my Dell GX620 which is running Linux Debian 6 (Squeeze) to connect to the router through the Ethernet ports. It appears that I receive no reply to the DHCP requests made by Linux.
I have only one monitor, keyboard and mouse and no KVM switch to run both the machines at once. I do have Windows XP Pro running in a VirtualBox virtual machine on the Debian machine,I can configure Debian to a static IP if I knew all of the IP configuration that the E2500 would assign. I would also need to know what reconfiguration the router requires if I use a static IP.
I have a Cisco 1200 Series (AIR-AP1231G-A-K9) access point, I have been upgrading these models to lightweight mode but are having issues with one in particular, this access point keeps "rebooting" itself, I am assuming that the upgrade failed, how can I get the access point upgraded?
When I start to access the AP by typing "enable" and enter the password it starts resetting again.
I have reset the AP by the mode button, power option but still not working.
At this point I would even accept a fix to get it back to working condition. Here is a capture.
Tried upgrading my firmware to 4.0.2.08-tm and now I cannot log in via the web interface. The router boots and gets out to the internet. It still allows incoming vpn connections. The login screen displays and will display an error message if I use incorrect credentials, but if I log in properly and am directed to the routers web config homepage at "192.168.1.1/default.htm", I get a 404 error message. Telnet does not work either (not sure if it's on, never used it before) 404 Not FoundThe requested server-side-includes filename, /usr/local/EasyAccess/www/htdocs/default.htm, does not seem to exist. As if the web pages after the login screen got removed or corrupted after the update.
SN is NKS10403247
I realize there is a newer version. Attempted the upgrade incrementally since I could not find documentation specifiying if that was required or not.
This weekend we have upgraded the ios on quite a few switches on a larger site, the site is a mix of 2960 and 3560 switches and the previouse ios versions were 12.2.44 on most switches but some had an older 12.2.25.On monday when we came into work we got a call that most of the ports on these switches were an amber color and most people could't use the network. After some investigation we discovered that we had a problem with dot1x so for a quick solution we just removed it from the switches and restarted all the ports with no dot1x enabled,[code]
I want to make my switch send trap when failed SSH login is detected. I found the "login Enhancement" feature and enabled the trap and logging for the failed attempt.

When installing the license for a 3750-E I get an error that the license doesn't reside on the flash though dir reveals the image in flash. Seen this, know of a resolution?
We have a stack of a 3750E with a 3750X, when we turn off the master, a disconnection occurs for around one minute while only one request timeout is seen when the slave is turned off. Is this normal? Details: in other words, when the slave switch is elected as the new master all the port-channels and some physical ports become in 'down' state before reobtaining the up state again, this results in a one minute outage. The question is: is it normal to have a layer2 control traffic interruption when the master fails and re-election occurs and if yes, what is the normal downtime in seconds. the layer2 control information such as port-channels LACP protocol are not synchronised to all slave switches by the master?
IOS upgrade tried on the stack of 2XWS-C3750X-24T-S , Upgrade was tried to support WCCP on the platform. Current version is Cisco IOS Software, C3750E Software (C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(58)SE1, Not able find any IP Plus ios in the site ? Only available are IP base and Universal K9 , Tried upgrading to c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-58.SE2.tar by using stack upgrade method as per document [URL]
Upgrade fails with error :
%Error opening flash:update/info (No such file or directory) ERROR: Image is not a valid IOS image archive.
Why current ios is not supporting WCCP , I hope it is there in the featureset. ( tried "sdm prefer routing" but no success) Does c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-58.SE2.tar will give me wccp support ? What is the issue with my upgrade and how do I do a successfull upgrade ?
applied an iOS update to a stack via tftp. I used the archive Download-sw tftp:// method. I rebooted the stack after complete and it never came back up. I discovered the master switch upgraded but not the member. The member was sitting there with all amber lights on and frozen after the iOS load. The master wouldn't finish boot until I removed the member from the stack. I had a version mismatch and they would not communicate.
7x stack WS-C3750E-48TD-E orignal code 12.2.35...i wanted to get it to 15.0.1 so as a test i disconnected top switch (not the master ) and installed via archive download-sw /allow upgrade 15.0.1.tar. and it worked away fine...
so i moved onto the stack, issued the same command, image loaded rebooted and stack hung..Consoled in and switch was unable to boot..looping on trying to load flash. [code]
I've tried to upgrade firmware through chrome, but chrome abruptly shut down during upgrade.Since that, I have not even loggin set-up menu which should be shown up putting 192.168.0.1 to make it back. Amber light is just blinking on Power lamp.
The Catalyst 3750 switch reboots, and the " Reloading because of stack merge or communication failure" error message appears.
I saw this issue at "Cisco wiki" but the resolution in that page is just "Open a case with TAC". Because of the reasion is H/W Problem.
Is The resolution only one ? anything else? The 3750 does not use Stack. It is just stand alone. So i think it has other resolution as "disabling Stack" or another one. How about my opinion ? Is the Resolution only "Open a Case with TAC"
I have a 1250 AP connected to an Switch Cisco 3750. We have a SSID(v lan 1 - native) which get an IP Address from our DHCP Server(located in a Windows 2003 server). I added a new SSID in VLAN 2 and I would like no to use the DHCP Server but to make the AP get an IP Address from the pool I created in the own AP (ip dhcp pool Guest) but every time I try to connect the new v lan, it doesn't get an ip address.
Follow the settings of the AP.

I just upgraded a stack of 4 3750s from 12.2(53)SE2 to 15.0(1)SE2. The stack took awhile to come back online (about 20 min). I wanted to make sure this isn't a compatibility issues with the Boot Loader which is (C3750X-HBOOT-M) Version 12.2(53r)SE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).
We have 2x Cisco 3750 WS-C3750-48PS-S and 1x WS-C3750-48PS-E in stack mode. They all work well. Currently they have c3750- ipservicesk9-mz.122- 25.SEE2.bin on them which is deffered by Cisco. What would be a good alternate, stable version for my switches? Switches have 16MB flash and 128mb Ram.
I have a WCS that I use to manage 8 controllers (2 WiSM's totaling 4 controllers, and 4 more controllers at remote locations). All controllers connect to 3750 switches. The layer three interfaces for all V LAN's that are related to the wireless network are created on these switches. Each layer three interface has a helper address that points the devices in the sub net to the correct DHCP server.
When a wireless device requests a DHCP request I believe it gets to that server based on the relay from the layer three interface on the 3750. However, I know that the virtual interface on the controller is also requesting an address because my firewall is flooded with deny statements. The virtual interface is configured for 1.1.1.1 and so it gets blocked. I am starting to question the use of this interface considering the fact that it is getting blocked and the clients are still getting address.
Are both interfaces trying to act as DHCP relays? Could I setup the controllers to be the only relay (without using the virtual interface)?
I have 4 switches of 3750. I need toupgrade all the switches, but I can't to disconnect the stack cable. How I can to upgrade the version without to disconnect the stack cable?
I have a situation where I have a 3750-X stack bought with the 350w power supplies. A "show Inv" lists model as "WS-C3750X-48T-L". I now need to suport POE in that space. Is it possible to add in a 1100W power supply and have the switch support POE or is the chassis different and cannot support POE, no matter what PS is installed?
I have an integrated 881W with a built in 801 access point. I'm interested in increasing the range of my AP. I'm interested in considering any configuration changes while still maintaining support for N. I've included a copy of my running config. As well, I've heard of high gain antennas. I'm using the default antennas that came with the 881W. If there are better antennas that I can buy to increase my range, I'm interested in considering that as well.
I got a set of dhcp pool in one 3750 attached to diferent Vlans in the network, the wired network works fine, you can get from any switch port across the LAN a diferente VLANs IP. In my wlc2504 I got 5 WLANs with the DHCP server pointed to the VLAN in the 3750, but I just got one set of ip when i tried to connect to diferent WLAN, without connectivity, I can see all the Ap's, and ping the VLANs in the 3750,
a power analyzer in my network is sending some packets that are unexpected and incorrectly recognized as DHCPOFFERS. As a workaround, I would like to filter those packets with my Cisco switch 3750.Suppose IP_POWER_ANALYZER is the ip address, what could be the best choice
1. deny udp any IP_POWER_ANALYZER eq bootpc 2. deny udp any IP_POWER_ANALYZER eq bootpc; deny udp IP_POWER_ANALYZER any eq bootps 3. deny udp any eq bootpc IP_POWER_ANALYZER eq bootps
i created the 10 V LAN in my Cisco 3750 switch. All other V LAN DHCP IP's (192.168.2.X - 192.168.10.X) will be release from the DHCP server except VLAN1 . In my 3750 switch i created DHCP pool(192.168.14.X).... and i assigned to VLAN10.... but one of the client is assigned to V LAN 2(192.168.2.X) configuration. but its getting IP from the Cisco DHCP instead of DHCP server.
We are going to upgrade our IOS on our WS-C2960G-48TC-L. But before we do that i want to ask whats the best IOS release to choose. Why we want to upgrade is because our switch software now don't support ssh just telnet access
