Is it possible to configure a Westell 6200 DSL modem to accept access via a remote PC? I have a security camera that can be viewed via remote computer access, but I cannot configure my modem to accept a remote access.

I have 2 AP1522 and I have to configure them so that clients can connect either 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. Each of the two AP1522 must be autonomous, but has to bear in mind that are close together.
To do this I have:
- Defined the two AP1522 as RAP mode
- Set the flag on the "client access on backhault link", but I have not enabled the sub-flag "Extended backhaul Client Access" (what is this sub-flag?)
- Set 2 BGN different (but this is indispensible or I can put the same BGN? what is the difference?)
- Set the two AP1522 on two different channels (but this is necessary? or is importan only if I set the same BGN?)
- The two AP1522 appear on the WLC as a way bidge (is correct?)
How can I check if my laptop will connect using the 5.0 GHz?!? It's just turn off the antenna of 2.4 GHz?!? On my laptop I haven't found a way to force it to connect in 5.0 GHz.
I cannot connect to the internet when I try it says "The remote device or resource wont accept the connection" It has been doing this for about 8 days... Sometimes It will connect the Internet explorer... But the past 2 days I CANNOT!

Nortons antivirus expired a week ago, tried to resubscribe in case i had a virus, but cant subscribe cause it wont pick up wireless. Have the broadband plugged straight into laptop and still nothing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI get this message in response to clicking on "Diagnose Connection Problems" which was returned to me in I.E. 9 after visiting yahoo.com, other sites and most interestingly, even after trying to get to my DIR-825 at IP address 192.68.0.1. The only common element here is the DIR-825 so I suspect there may be some kind of misconfiguration in the device. The only way that I have been able to clear this condition is to reboot or repower my DIR-825.

I tried to configure Anyconnect VPN client option, but after entering user/pass it gives error "An error was received from the secure gateway in response to the VPN negotiation request. View 1 Replies View RelatedAt my home I have a Westell 6100 DSL modem connected to a computer.AT&T is the ISP and all filters are installed.I use my home computer via VNC applications from a remote location and I began to notice that the VNC local client session was being lost,,,over and over.It was discovered that the WAN IP was changing over and over and happens about once every 5-10 minutes,,,or so. While I have a dynamic WAN IP from ATT, I would not expect the WAN IP to change as often as 7-8 (or more) times a day. At first I thought it was ATT changing my DYNAMIC WAN IP.But, a review of the Westell log file is reporting lost connection(s),,,,,etc, etc,,,,,etc. over and over.Below is a list of the Westell log information showing several hours of behavior.The Westell diagnotics that were run and the SELF test run as expected.Looks like the DSL modem is going bad, a filter is bad, or the line is going bad and needs to be balanced,,,,etc..

I have two Windows7 machines (PC and laptop). I've set PC as VPN server and laptop as VPN client using default built-in W7 network tools. I've disabled use default gateway in remote network on client machine, so client don't try to route all communication through VPN. I've routed port 1723 (TCP/UDP) on NAT to my server and enabled IPSec/PPTP/L2TP passthrough

I create a IPsec user. I create a firewall rule from WAN interface to SA520 Ip with IPSEC-UDP-ENCAP service.
I installed a CISCO ASA5505 with 50 user license to my network as the gateway firewall. So ASA is acting as the gaeway router which is connected to a fibre circuit and also it gives DHCP to the network. The strange thing is that except for two computers rest does not have internet. I also have an asterisk phone system which works fine..
I tried everything.... static IP's DHCP, DNS nothing worked. But strange enough two computers works fine and have internet.. but are no special computers. One is Win XP and the other one is Win7. When I troubleshoot the problem in win 7 on one of the computers it says
"The remote device or resource won't accept the connection"

I have a remote access VPN using AnyConnect client and LDAP authentication for Active Directory. We are changing ISP (groan!), which means all new public IP addresses. The new circuit is installed, so I have a second public interface (same security level as the first public interface, wholly different IP address range) enabled on the ASA. I hope to transition whatever I can, which means get the VPN access through either public interface. Can I just enable client access on the second public interface at the Anyconnect Connection Profiles tab in ASDM? That seems too simple. Can they share the one address pool?

I had asked my questions over at DSLReports, and they said Westell could be used as a Ethernet router, but they still doesn't fully answer my questions.The Westell modem/router model is A90-750015-07. I only have a modem through Service Electric. My questions are could this Westell modem/router be used as a separate wireless only router? Like, the D-link, and Linksys sells wireless routers, right? People could connect to it, or people could enable WPA for more secured? Could this modem/router act as wireless without the need of a DSL link through Verizon? I know on some wireless routers others are able to connect the modem to router using a WAN port, and then router to PC using a LAN port. However, I did not see any ports on this Westell for LAN and WAN. I'll show what I see from left to right.

I tried getiing into the d link with 192.168.2.1 but failed...resetting does nothing. I also have a westell 7500 dsl modem/router but it also fails to supply any comp with internet, although only my xp comp can access it. I can not get into the routers. Resetting does nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am adding a second external connection to an existing system on an ASA 5510 with ASA V8.2 and ASDM 6.4. I added the new WAN using an other interface (newwan).
The intention is to route most internet traffic over the new route/interface (newwan) but keep our existing VPNs using the former interface (outside).
I used the ASDM GUI to make the changes and most of it works.ie. The default route goes via (newwan). Outgoing VPNs of a site to site nature use the previous route via (outside) as they now have static routes to achieve this.
The only problem is that incomming Remote Access Anyconnect VPNs are not working. I set the default static route to use the new interface (newwan) and the default tunneled route to be via (outside) but this is the point is goes wrong....
I can no longer ping the outside IP address from an external location. It seems the outside interface does not send traffic back to the - outside interface (or at least that's where I think the problem lies). How do I force replies to the incomming VPN remote traffic from unknown IPs to go back out on the outside interface?
The only change I need to make to get everything working on the outside interface again is to make the Default Static route use the outside interface. Which puts all the internet traffic back on the original (outside) connection.
I have a Westell Ultraline Series3 Verizon modem/ router. I no longer have Verizon, I now have Charter cable internet. Is it possible to use this modem with Charter? I have tried everything I know (which is not much). When connected to the Charter cable the light on the front indicates internet, but when I try to connect to the internet I don't have internet access. This happens when connected via wire or wireless.

I typically reboot the modem and it takes 1-2 minutes to restart but sometimes I have to reboot a second time in order to get the power light to go on.

I noticed that I was able to log into the imbeded browser of the modem and the router from the main PC. I didn't think it was possible to log into the modem if it was set up in bridged ethernet mode. His internet is working but I was thinking that he may have problems with double NATing.Basically, I just want to know what options there are for setting up a router to a modem. I'm aware of bridged mode and setting up the router as a switch (not real knowledgable of this one). Seems like DHCP is enabled on both devices.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to access the internet when I plug my modem (Westell 6100) into my router (Netgear WPN824). It works perfectly fine when I connect my modem directly to my computer though. It was working perfectly last night and for the last few years up until now.
I've tried sequencing, turning off my modem/router/pc while waiting two minutes in between each step but it doesn't work. I'm 100% sure the log in and password information to log in is correct (I use PPPoE to access the internet). I've tried resetting the router to factory settings and going through the setup but I get the same result. (Unable to connect)

Being the idiot I am, I reset my router to change the password (dumb I know) and now the router can't pass the internet signal from the modem on! 1. I've set the modem to bride/bridge and unchecked the private LAN box.release/renewed IP2. Used the modem's MAC address in the router. . Made sure DHCP set to obtain automatically.4.
