Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 - Configuring Multiple VLANs For Single Port

Apr 11, 2012

I would like to configure a 3750 switch port to be able to use two vlans. I know you can do this with a voice and data vlan, but what about two data vlans ? Say I have two devices, one on a 10 subnet and the other on a 172 subnet, but i only have one wall jack for both devices to plug into. So I use a mini switch to connect both devices and connect the switch to the wall jack; and of course this all leads back to one switch port. When I go to enter the switchport access vlan 172 cmd, how would I also make it so the device on the 10 subnet could route out ?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Configuring 1941 With 8 Port EHWic Switch Module And Onboard GE Ports In Single LAN?

Jul 1, 2012

Can you configure a Cisco 1941 to use an 8 port EHWic module and the 2 onboard GE ports in a single LAN?

I've discovered you can't have the on GE ports associated with a VLan, and I'm when I've previously researched for a solution, bridging was mentioned but I cannot seem to get it to work (or completely understand it)The reason I would like to use all 10 ports on for the LAN is becuase I have 10 devices I need to connect to the 1941?

Cannot Connect To A Single Website

Apr 24, 2012

I heard about this little indy game called "Kerbal Space Program" and tried out the demo and loved it.I decided to shoot 'em $15 to support their efforts; this also gets me the "full" or I should say "most current" version. After getting the confirmation emails from paypal, I'm off to their webpage to download...now remember, I'd been on their website all day."Problem loading page", and "Connection timed out!" etc etc.I tried my usual troubleshooting methods of pings, tracerts, and direct IP address connecting, all with the same results.I then went to online chat with my ISP, Comcast. The tech told me with basic things I knew wouldn't work, but I humored him...Then he decided he'd try a few "remote connection resets"...on the second time my connection crapped out completely. After restarting my PC and doing a complete cycle of both my router and cable modem, I got back "online"...but not really. Any address I put in auto-sent me to the "Comcast sign-up page"...well I got this resolved after 2 hours on the phone with Comcast, but I'm still disturbed that whatever that technician did while I was in support chat with him effectively DELETED my internet service (I looked at my account from my cell phone and it had NO SERVICES listed at one point!). [code]

Can't Connect To A Single Website

Mar 29, 2013

For the past few days now, I haven't been able to connect to a single website. The website in question is [URL] I've tried everything that I can think of, but nothing is working.

I've tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and IE), I've checked my host file and I've flushed my dns, restarted router and computer, and renewed/released the ipconfig. I can ping the website in CMD and all the packets go through fine, but attempting to connect via domain name or IP address with a browser does not work. Using a proxy also does not work. Connecting to my neighbors wifi does work.

Sometimes If I let it sit there and load for a long time, it will connect but only partially load the page. I'm also able to connect to the websites chat network and stay connected even while the rest of the site will not load.

I'm guessing it has something to do with my router. I have a westell router/modem which I'm pretty sure the firmware has been gimped by my ISP, Century Link.

I connect all the four ISP's to a machine(say Server), then I take out a wire and connect it to the switch so that I can distribute all the ISP into the network. Now on the basis of the MAC Address I can change the assign any ISP to any of the other machine in the network. Also is it possible that I can monitor their data usage as well as can CAP there bandwidth.

Single Proxy Server For Two Different VLAN And ISP?

I'm looking to implement a single proxy server for two different VLANs. Both VLAN have outgoing traffic configured through different ISP i.e. traffic for users on VLAN1 is routed through ISP1 and traffic for users on VLAN2 is routed through ISP2. Inter-VLAN communication is enabled. The proxy server should route internet traffic for users in VLAN1 through ISP1 and for users in VLAN2 traffic should be routed through ISP2.

Showing Multiple MAC's On A Single Interface?

Mar 31, 2011

some of the servers are not pinging from one switch but they are pingable from other redundant distribution switch. So I took the IP addresses from the redundant switch, with that I found MAC addresses from the access switch. But when I tried to see to which ports these MAC are addresses are connected to, multiple MAC addresses are resolving to the same switchport. like 5 MAC's are showing to 1 port and other 3 MAC's are showing to other port, like this there are many. All these MAC's belong to virtual servers.

How To Connect Two Modems As Single Connection

Feb 19, 2012

I have two usb modem A and modem B. modem A could download at max of 300kbps while B could download at max of 700kbps. Since I am a frequent internet user, Im planning to use this two modem simultaneously so that I could have a max speed of 500+300=800+kbps. But I dont know if this would work. The problem with usb modem is that, when you connect the modem A in the internet while modem B is currently running, Modem B is being disregarded right? I was thinking of, say while im browsing and downloading, modem A would be use for browsing and modem B is for downloading. Or them may either share each connection for better performance.

Cisco :: STP With Switches Linked By Single Hub?

Sep 28, 2012

Question: how would STP or RSTP behave in a star topology with a hub in the middle?i.e. you have four switches all linked to the same central hub. Single links, no loops. Each switch would then get BPDUs from everybody.Going by theory, it should be OK since it still sees the root's BPDU and will see the link to the hub as the root port, despite presence of other BPDUs from other switches? No different from receiving an inferior BPDU from an upstream switch and a superior BPDU from a further upstream root switch.I guess I could lab it by turning off spanning tree on a switch to simulate a hub? I've never previously had to deal with STP issues where there are hubs that aren't strictly point to point bridging so to speak (ok they're not bridging but you get the drift).I've got a scenario I'm examining at the moment where this is the topology, except all switches have bpdufilter running hence effectively no spanning tree. I'm curious to know what would happen should I remove the bpdufilter.I realise there is zero benefit in spanning tree in this instance as I don't have any redundant loops to fall back on, but I'm reluctant to turn off STP on those vlans (since obviously theres stuff behind those switches). The BPDUfilter method seems like an elegant solution but I wonder if its actually necessary.(the hub is actually a VPLS mesh, most sites terminate PE to CE router but I'm playing around with switches as the termination points – run our own Q in Q, split vlans off before it gets to layer 3 as separation, etc.)
