View 2 RepliesI have an older D-Link DGL-4300 wireless router, I've purchased a wireless home security system and can't seem to get the 2 connected. I've tried resetting the router & modem (powering down & waiting from 1-5 minutes), and my router just won't read the port that I've plugged the security system ethernet cable into.I think the problem is my firewall but I don't know how to set it to allow the router to read the port that I've plugged into, or it could be the firewall that my anti-wirus has or possibly both.My equipment is Comcast cable, router (as noted above) and a D-Link DCM-202 modem, Windows XP 3, and Norton anti-virus. Now I also have my phone through Comcast and it has it's own modem.

There is no issue connecting to the router as long as the security is off. I've tried other form of encryption to no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally added wpa personnel security to my network. It worked on all computers until my sons xbox wouldn't connect so I disconnected the modem and router and reconnected. After this, the main computer at the router worked but 3 other laptops wouldn't connect to the network. I finally realized it wasn't broadcasting the ssid. All are working except I have an order computer running xp that previously worked-I hadn't checked it for a week-Ibut I just checked and it doesn't connect to the network. It finds the signal and I put the password in but it won't connect. I've deleted the connection and added it back with no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a work supplied laptop. Used to be able to connect to my home wireless network - this stopped working last week. It can connect to other wireless networks, both at the office and other public places, but can't connect to my home network.
I've tried: Manually creating the wireless network Removing the profile from regedit Removing the profile from ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvcsProfiles
It sees the network and attempts to connect, but never successfully connect. I have other laptops at home that are working just fine. The network is setup with WEP security, and I've entered/reentered the password several times.
Note, when I started this, the home network did not appear under the Manage Wireless Networks list in the Network and Sharing Center.

I have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.
