View 2 RepliesI have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54G router, and when I am in the security area, where you choose WPA, WEP, etc... I keep clicking the dropdown menu, and when I choose anything BUT disable, the security auto-sets back to disable. I have rebooted the router. I have rebooted the modem. I have changed my router's password. How do I turn my WEP back on without it just saying. Also, for additional notation, my US light on my modem is no longer green, it is orange since this issue has occured. Is there any connection that might be related to this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the OS on my laptop to Windows 7, which wiped out most of my older Vista settings. When I try to connect to my home network, I am prompted for a security key (network key?). How do I find the security key? I can't find any of the paperwork that came with my router.
By the way, I am currently using my desktop, running under Windows XP.
I purchased a new router and it doesn't have a security key. I can't connect my blue ray or roku.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this E4200v2 for a while now, and it's been giving me a headache because even at default wireless setting with the passphrase, it literally won't ever connect from a linksys wireless adapter using the mixed WPA2 Personal or the 'EasyConnect' button feature or the PIN, with both side's fireware updated to the latest. There is no issue connecting to the router as long as the security is off. I've tried other form of encryption to no luck.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFirmware is 1.52.0. Model is WRT54GS.I'm configured with WPA2-PSK/AES. Broadcasting my SSID. No MAC access filtering.HTTPS access only to the config pages. Custom (not default) password. Remote management disabled.
Summary:The router simply "forgot" its assigned SSID and reverted to broadcasting as "linksys".It also ceased encrypting its broadcast.I was able to log in and change it back. It retained many of the OTHER settings I had previously configured.
Details:Two days ago, I noticed my client (laptop) could no longer see the usual SSID that I connect to on my home network. However, there was a new SSID in the area, named "linksys", broadcasting UNSECURED.Coincidentally, this new "linksys" access point had the exact same signal strength that my usual access point typically had.So, I connected to it, you know, just to see.I was only able to access the config pages at my custom IP address (not at x.y.0.1), prefixed with the "https://" scheme identifier. And it didn't prompt for a password. Hopefully because it recognized the cookie my browser still carried from the last time I logged in to it. But maybe because it had temporarily dropped ALL of its security measures...It was definitely my router. Just, stripped of its usual encryption/authentication and its usual SSID.So, I switched the SSID back to what it usually is.And I turned the WPA2-PSK/AES encryption back on.The router "remembered" my WPA2 passphrase, which it displayed to me as plaintext when I pulled down the "security mode" dropdown menu and selected "WPA2 Personal".After re-configuring, it works as well as ever.Is this a known security flaw in the WRT45GS? Because....it seems like a fatal one, as far as network security is concerned. Is it limited to one firmware release?
my mother in law thought she forgot her wifi password so i tried to do a reseti reset it then no internet at all and could not access the router gateway page (192.168.1.1)I had to set the internet protocol to default and 2 power cycles later i can access the internet. Then i used the linksys disc to set up the security and now it doesn't work can't access nothing through ie.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1000 wireless-n router. I bought the router originally so I could get my Nintendo DS on Wi-Fi. I then realized that DS games require a WEP Key, but my E1000 defaults to WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. My laptop and my Wii connect online with the default settings just fine. My 3DS also seems to be able to connect with the internet router, but not Wi-Fi, for some reason. So when I'm on Cisco connect, I go to Router settings, it brings my web browser to "http://192.168.0.1". From there I go to the Wireless tab, and then click on Wireless Security. I've tried multiple times to change the Security Mode to WEP, and even disabled security. But after I save the settings, the connection on my laptop is lost, and I have to reboot my router all over again, and am back with the default WPA/WPA2.
