View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a work supplied laptop. Used to be able to connect to my home wireless network - this stopped working last week. It can connect to other wireless networks, both at the office and other public places, but can't connect to my home network.
I've tried: Manually creating the wireless network Removing the profile from regedit Removing the profile from ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvcsProfiles
It sees the network and attempts to connect, but never successfully connect. I have other laptops at home that are working just fine. The network is setup with WEP security, and I've entered/reentered the password several times.
Note, when I started this, the home network did not appear under the Manage Wireless Networks list in the Network and Sharing Center.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife just bought a Dell XPS L502x. I cannot get it to connect to our wireless network without disabling the route security completely. Even then it is slow.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Intel Centrino Wireless-N1030
Our router is a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHZ WRT54GL
I am aware of the PSP issue and have turned off the option to allow the computer to turn off the adapter and have set the power settings to the highest settings for both battery and plugged in. I have messed the routers security and the computer will not connect unless I turn off the security entirely. It connects but is slow. Anything else and it will not connect at all. Regardless, it can always detect the network without a problem and shows signal strength of Excellent (full bars) even when it is running slow. It works great on a cable or with a wireless usb adapter. I am positive that I am entering the password correctly as i have done this many times now. All other wireless devices in the house connect without a problem including her old Dell laptop.I have updated all the drivers (including the adapter) and keep current on all the Windows updates.when I run the ipconfig /all it lists all my wireless adapters and the blue tooth as "media disconnected". Not sure if that is referring to not being connected to the network or something else.
I am trying to open internet through wi-Fi but my system is asking for network security Key and I am unable to find it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Vista computer and my XP computer had been happily "talking" to each other, sharing files and printers. I got tired of paying $70 a year for Norton Internet Security, so I uninstalled it (using the Norton removal tool) and selected the Windows Firewall. I also installed Avast! and SuperAntiSpyware. Now neither computer talks to the other. When I run "\FamilyRoomHPOfficeJet" I get "Windows cannot access \FamilyRoomHPOfficeJet" . Check spelling, etc. Get error code 0x800704b3 "The network path was either typed incorrectly, does not exist or the network provider is not currently available..." What have I messed up by going from the Norton firewall to the Windows one.

1) I had Windows XP 2012 Security virus that I removed. The antivirus software also removed afs.sys and afs.reg file, that I repalced from backup. I also copied and merged afs.reg Doing this got me an ipaddress for my PC.
2) I can not connect my wired desktop to the Internet. I can ping the ip address of google.com but not the url. I can also not ping ip address of netgear.com. My laptop has no problem connecting to the wireless network.
3) I ran Winsockxpfix and flushed dns and no luck. [code]
I needed to bring my laptop Toshiba satellite A135 - S4404 computer back to factory settings. When I did I lost my internet connection. I have a wireless G router. I tried setting up a new connection. When I couldnt remember my username and password to the linksys, I made several attempts to give them one.A fool hearty effort on my part. They locked me out. I was given a red X on that particular network. How to get back to where I can give them the necessary username and password?I believe I found it written on my Linksys user guide.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running a Netgear wireless N-300 router from my RoadRunner modem. I installed the network early last week to no problems. A few days ago the wireless devices wouldn't connect. They recognize the network, but will not connect to the internet. I have given them their own IPs with the router, and shut off DHCP...this didn't work. I've obviously tried to power cycle the router and modem....this didn't work. I can't seem to find a fix. My android devices connect to the network just fine, but otherwise if it isn't connected via wire, it won't work. I've also tried to connect things without the android devices connected just in case it was interference, and that didn't work.
