ISP / Verizon - How To Setup Home Network
Sep 20, 2011I have a router supplied by my ISP, Verizon[a g-router] using with 2 desktop and 2 laptop computers. All but 1 laptop are still running XP.So far I have not tried to print over the network. The printer is connected to the desktop that is also wired to the router.how to setup printing across this wireless network. Must I setup another internal home network in order to do wireless printing?

Nov 12, 2012My Vista computer and my XP computer had been happily "talking" to each other, sharing files and printers. I got tired of paying $70 a year for Norton Internet Security, so I uninstalled it (using the Norton removal tool) and selected the Windows Firewall. I also installed Avast! and SuperAntiSpyware. Now neither computer talks to the other. When I run "\FamilyRoomHPOfficeJet" I get "Windows cannot access \FamilyRoomHPOfficeJet" . Check spelling, etc. Get error code 0x800704b3 "The network path was either typed incorrectly, does not exist or the network provider is not currently available..." What have I messed up by going from the Norton firewall to the Windows one.

Changing IP Address In Static Network?
Jul 11, 2011I am connected to a static ip network. This network sets local ips to connected computers but general ip is the same: static ip of network. When i go to "whatismyipaddress", I can see this static ip. I want to change my ip address. I have no chance to use proxy server or router connection. Is there a way to change my ip address? (Because some sites ban ip address, ex:rapidshare etc. and I need to change my ip)

Apr 13, 2013I just bought a Netgear Router WNR 2000 v3 and installed it. I got inside the router and could set up a Network Name and security key. However, I can not access the internet when I chose a security password using WPA 2, WPA-PSK + WPA 2 PSK, or WPA/WPA 2. It only accesses the internet when I chose None.( no secured ).At this time, my network is unsecured because there isn't way I can access the internet when I create a security key using the 3 options the router offers.
Note : I have tried the 3 security options creating a key number and my computer connect to the wireless network but don't access the internet. It only access the internet when I select None ( no secured )

Oct 29, 2012Having an issue with a Cisco Linksys E1500 on a home network. The device has a feature to provide a guest wireless network but the guest network can't get to the internet. A wired connection is fine, as is the normal wireless network but not the guest. The cheesy thing is, that it doesn't list an option for what type of wireless security protocol you want on the guest network. I'm assuming that it uses the same security protocol that the normal wireless network uses, but who knowsEspecially weird is that it asks you what password you want on the guest network but then the guest network show to be insecure when you try to connectthought maybe it was something funky with some of my configurations so I went ahead and factory defaulted it and just set it up with an insecure network for both the normal and guest networks. This didn't solve it. The guest network still couldn't get to the internet. In fact, the guest network can't even ping the router.

Feb 23, 2013I have a work supplied laptop. Used to be able to connect to my home wireless network - this stopped working last week. It can connect to other wireless networks, both at the office and other public places, but can't connect to my home network.
I've tried: Manually creating the wireless network Removing the profile from regedit Removing the profile from ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvcsProfiles
It sees the network and attempts to connect, but never successfully connect. I have other laptops at home that are working just fine. The network is setup with WEP security, and I've entered/reentered the password several times.
Note, when I started this, the home network did not appear under the Manage Wireless Networks list in the Network and Sharing Center.

Home Network :: Virtual Servers On One IP Address
Aug 6, 2012I have one dedicated IP issued to my home, along with another dynamic one if I need it(but I don't use it). I have a webserver, mail server, and name server up and running on a single machine exposed to the internet with my static IP. I have a domain name registered to my IP address. My webserver and name server work great, but I am having difficulty with the mail server. In order to have mail work correctly, I have been told that I need to get reverse DNS setup for my domain (something I had neglected to do). My nameserver responds to reverse lookups correctly when issued locally, but it looks like queries from the internet never reach it (I think my ISP catches requests upstream). I contacted them and they put a PTR record in for my IP pointing to ns1.mydomain.com. This all works fine, but the thought occurred to me that if in my hosts file I put my MX record in as mail.mydomain.com., any mail clients that do a reverse lookup of my IP won't get mail.
