View 1 RepliesI have a work supplied laptop. Used to be able to connect to my home wireless network - this stopped working last week. It can connect to other wireless networks, both at the office and other public places, but can't connect to my home network.
I've tried: Manually creating the wireless network Removing the profile from regedit Removing the profile from ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvcsProfiles
It sees the network and attempts to connect, but never successfully connect. I have other laptops at home that are working just fine. The network is setup with WEP security, and I've entered/reentered the password several times.
Note, when I started this, the home network did not appear under the Manage Wireless Networks list in the Network and Sharing Center.
I have forgotten my network security key to connect to wireless internet.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Intel Centrino Wireless-N1030
Our router is a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHZ WRT54GL
I am aware of the PSP issue and have turned off the option to allow the computer to turn off the adapter and have set the power settings to the highest settings for both battery and plugged in. I have messed the routers security and the computer will not connect unless I turn off the security entirely. It connects but is slow. Anything else and it will not connect at all. Regardless, it can always detect the network without a problem and shows signal strength of Excellent (full bars) even when it is running slow. It works great on a cable or with a wireless usb adapter. I am positive that I am entering the password correctly as i have done this many times now. All other wireless devices in the house connect without a problem including her old Dell laptop.I have updated all the drivers (including the adapter) and keep current on all the Windows updates.when I run the ipconfig /all it lists all my wireless adapters and the blue tooth as "media disconnected". Not sure if that is referring to not being connected to the network or something else.
My device is not providing wireless around the house. What should I do?

I have a ASA 5505 that I have been using for a while, but a new ISP is trying to configure my service so that the outside interface has to be configured as DHCP to receive a reserved IP address, and then they will route a separate, non-contiguous block of addresses to that address.
Essentially, they have a DHCP reservation for 1.2.3.4 for my ASA, and then they have 10.2.3.16/28 as a separate block routed to me.
Obviously, I can do my static NAT translations using outside as the address, but I cannot get the separate block of addresses to route through the ASA. Is there a way to do this and get them to work? My ASA is running 7.2(2)
I'm new to IT, and have been put in charge of managing our servers hile my boss is on vacation. We currently have a Sonicwall Network Security Appliance that handles our Firewall/VPN and have web content filtering set in place.I have a user who belongs to 2 CFS policy groups that we have set up. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants, but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser. It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
I am trying to connect to a Security-enabled wireless netowork. I have the key. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to enter it. When I try to connect I open the "view available networks"window. I see the network name and it shows a strong signal (all 5 green bars).
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is where I want to go:
Windows server 2008 (providing DHCP and DNS) 192.168.89.1 on all
Cisco SG 300-20 (switch) 192.168.89.3
all Clients(15 x DHCP assigned IPs) connected to switch
WRT300N(192.168.89.2) connected to switch
Internet modem connected to WRT300N
To achieve this I need to disable DHCP on the WRT300N, since my server is providing DHCP.The issue I have is that when I disable DHCP at the WRT300N, I lose internet connection (connected to either switch or direclty to WRT300N).
I have not yet completed my CCNA, however I have managed to configure a 1841 router with 1 x HWIC-ADSL1 and it also has 1 x HWIC-AG-AP-A which is the only part I am unable to get working.
The Wi-Fi (Dot11Radio) config has enabled me to see the SSID from wireless devices, but they never get an IP address. I need them to get the same IP range as the DHCP service I have in there 203.35.10.xxx, there is no option for "IP ADDRESS DHCP" only "IP ADDRESS POOL LAN" Lan is of course my DHCP pool name. however I cannot have the same DHCP pool on both Dot11Radio interfaces.
I know I'm missing one very simple command, but as I've never worked with Radio on Cisco equipment, I am unsure how to fix it.
Then once I get that worked out, I need changing the access from OPEN to WPA or WPA2, etc..
IOS Software on Router is C1841-ADVSECURITYK9-M - Version 12.4(9) T
I can upgrade to a better version of software if needed, I only have a 32mb Flash and 128Mb Ram.
The current Radio Config is:
!
interface Dot11Radio0/1/0
no ip address
no ip redirects

I just moved in to a new place and have connected my Wireless router (WRT610N) to my switch located in the smart panel in the basement (SE2500). Plugging my ultrabook in to the wall confirms that the signal from the switch in the basement is being sent up, however if I plug my wireless router in to the jack and connect to the wireless router I have no internet access.

However, there is a command that I found and it is NOT DOCUMENTED on 4500 reference guide! The command is "diagnostic monitor poe". This command actually detects/recover POE hardware failures! After executing this command, poe start to work again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a WRT160N Wireless router and am not getting fast wireless speeds. My ISP told me my speeds are 10mbps download and 1 mbps upload. I realize that this is not lighting fast but it is all that I feel like i need. My speeds on the WRT160N are about 2-3 MBPS d/l and 600kbps u/l on my wireless connection, which is hooked up to my playstation 3. My wired connection, which goes to my pc, is 9.75 mbps d/l and about .95 mbps u/l, which seems right. Why am I getting such low speeds with a router that is suppose to be build for faster wireless and longer ranges. To make a comparison, I have been using an OLD linksys b-rated router. i can't exactly remember the model, but i think it is the bef11s4, it came with a network card and is about 6-7 years old. I was getting 3-3.5 mbps d/l and 800kbps u/l with the b rated router, and it seemed like a better reception, like in the 80's-90's. ThisWRT160N is getting like in the 70's and sometimes lower.I have tried setting the router to open all ports to a dedicated ip address, it made things a little better, maybe getting 2.5 mbps d/l at the most. What am i doing wrong? I have heard something about tomato firmware but am not real familiar with it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco ASA 5500 as the main router with a DIR-655 as a wireless access point behind it. DHCP is turned off on the 655 as the ASA is providing DHCP. This worked great for about a year and now suddenly, without any changes, I'm having problems. The only thing that connects without a problem is a laptop, which shows up on the device list with an IP. Other devices have problems. iPhones connect, show an IP on the device itself, but when listed in the connected list on the 655 show no IP. The connection is super slow. An Airport Express will connect, but again, shows no IP in the connected list on the 655. Using the ethernet cable from the Airport Express, nothing can get an IP. I can live with the iPhone not connecting, but the Airport Express not connecting is a major problem. Any reason why this would just stop working one day?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue with a Cisco Linksys E1500 on a home network. The device has a feature to provide a guest wireless network but the guest network can't get to the internet. A wired connection is fine, as is the normal wireless network but not the guest. The cheesy thing is, that it doesn't list an option for what type of wireless security protocol you want on the guest network. I'm assuming that it uses the same security protocol that the normal wireless network uses, but who knowsEspecially weird is that it asks you what password you want on the guest network but then the guest network show to be insecure when you try to connectthought maybe it was something funky with some of my configurations so I went ahead and factory defaulted it and just set it up with an insecure network for both the normal and guest networks. This didn't solve it. The guest network still couldn't get to the internet. In fact, the guest network can't even ping the router.
