Connect My Wireless Security System To D-Link (DCM-202) Router?
Sep 4, 2011
I have an older D-Link DGL-4300 wireless router, I've purchased a wireless home security system and can't seem to get the 2 connected. I've tried resetting the router & modem (powering down & waiting from 1-5 minutes), and my router just won't read the port that I've plugged the security system ethernet cable into.I think the problem is my firewall but I don't know how to set it to allow the router to read the port that I've plugged into, or it could be the firewall that my anti-wirus has or possibly both.My equipment is Comcast cable, router (as noted above) and a D-Link DCM-202 modem, Windows XP 3, and Norton anti-virus. Now I also have my phone through Comcast and it has it's own modem.
I have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.
I have a links wireless system, I am trying to make this a secure connection. I have gon into the property settings and everytime I try to set the security to wpa2 or even wpa it I lose my internet connectivety. I can't get the security key needed.
I have Wi-Fi on my smartphone and I want to set up another lap-top and it is asking for a security key, where do I find it ?I already have one lap-top set up !
Ive got an E system 3087, it had a virus and got restored but now wont connect to my wireless router which is an Echolife HG520b Broadband Wireless router. It is recognised on the laptop but when i have typed the network key in it constantly says aquiring network address and keeps connecting and disconnecting. The router is still connected to my iPhone and PS3 fine, its just the laptop. I have done the usual, switching everything on and off and re typing the network key but nothing has worked, it normally asks for our password when we're setting something up with the router
I'm building a security camera system, which can connect to internet to be viewed from away. The camera receiver connects to the modem with a Cat 5 ethernet cable, which results in a cable running across the room. My modem is a wireless type, but the camera receiver only has cable support it seems.
Is there a device that I can use to get rid of the Cat5 cable in this scenario?
set up my router. Trying to set up my 3G modem with TP-Link MR3020.
Tried troubleshooting to find out where it went wrong and just couldn't figure out. Just tried disabling the wireless security and *poof* I'm able to connect to the Internet. Right after setting up the Network Key, I can't connect to the Intertnet via my router.
Here are the datas.

One of our clients just installed a new security system and they need to be able to view the cameras from outside the network. According to the vendor, we should only need ports 81 and 2000 forwarded to the internal DVR on both TCP and UDP. They really aren't much troubleshoot the network config.
I have the revision b version of the dir-655. I'm having a couple issues which im not sure if are related to the dir-655 or something else.
I used to be able to do this, then all of the sudden (I may have changed something) I cannot anymore. The issue is: If I try and access my linux server using http://[My Public IP Address]/ from *inside* my LAN, It will time out and not connect. If I try and access my same public ip address from *outside* my LAN, it works fine.
My router was noticeably slow to respond when navigating the menu system. Then, I changed the ip address to 192.168.0.2 (previously it was 192.168.0.1) and all of the sudden its fast again. I tried rebooting and power cycling before I changed the IP and it was always slow using 192.168.0.1.
I'm trying to get my new HP laptop to use my D-Link (DI-624) wireless router for a wireless network. I'm asked for a wireless network security key. How do I find it I have a feeling I'm missing a step or two
I keep getting a pop-up message from my firewall ( Sygate personal -free ) telling me that NT Kernel and system has been blocked. I checked the box to say don't show this message again, it still shows it every time. minutes in between. It freezes my pc and screws up any typing i'm doing at the time. According to the application list it is checked to allow and running. It is not listed in Task Manager.
A N600 Router Model F9J1102v1 router first installed in July 2012 with WPA-PSK, MAC Address Filtering and "Self Healing" enabled would not allow a new PC to connect via an RJ45 port. Belkin support ask for the unit to be reset to factory settings which is done and the Security system re-enabled again. Valid MAC Addresses start to be added and midway a PC is discovered in the Network without its MAC address added. Closer scrutiny reveals that another unknown device has also found a way into the router and that the 'Block' option on the MAC list is also failing to work. Anyone think of what one should do with this security shambles other than turn the thing off quick?
how can I set password for my wireless internet? I used to have one, but today I have fully restarted modem and router to factory settings, so password is gone. Now I'd like to set it up again, I have TP-Link router.

I am having troubles configuring TL-WR740N. After I connect everything and turned in on, the system Light is ON and the power light is also ON and nothing else. I Connected my laptop to the 1 of 4 LAN ports and the WAN to my modem.
In my log I have the message: "Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 0020008E971E". When I checked the vendor for this MAC, it shows Lexmark international inc, which fact make me feel something is wrong. My first thought was that somebody trying to break into my net but I am close to accept that the owner of Lexmark WiFi printer without an idea in networking, just tried to connect it to his network and after failing to do that, it's wired and wireless features are still on. But still could this be bug or something? I am posting some logs when I first discovered the problem and after I granted access to the device with the MAC address 0020008E971E. I forgot to tell you, that before I decided to post here I did firmware upgrade from Hardware version A3 1.10 to 1.35NA (I bought it from US) with factory default restore. The result was absolutely the same - the messages kept coming "Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 0020008E971E". So I granted access to that MAC and checked the logs again. There is a line in the log that stated "primary:"
I've had this E4200v2 for a while now, and it's been giving me a headache because even at default wireless setting with the passphrase, it literally won't ever connect from a linksys wireless adapter using the mixed WPA2 Personal or the 'EasyConnect' button feature or the PIN, with both side's fireware updated to the latest. There is no issue connecting to the router as long as the security is off. I've tried other form of encryption to no luck.
I finally added wpa personnel security to my network. It worked on all computers until my sons xbox wouldn't connect so I disconnected the modem and router and reconnected. After this, the main computer at the router worked but 3 other laptops wouldn't connect to the network. I finally realized it wasn't broadcasting the ssid. All are working except I have an order computer running xp that previously worked-I hadn't checked it for a week-Ibut I just checked and it doesn't connect to the network. It finds the signal and I put the password in but it won't connect. I've deleted the connection and added it back with no luck.
I have a Linksys model WRT3110Nv2 and I cannot connect when my security is set WPA2 and i type in the correct password. it has no problem connecting when I set it to an unsecure network. ???

Recently in the morning the router will have lost ability to connect to internet <internet light is on> and I cannot access the router page <sys light solid> from either wired or wireless connections. Why is this and will it be solved if I upgrade firmware?

I can't able to recognize a system - all wifi clients lose connection. When this happens, the ping answer time rech the ~2000 times, then totally lose the connection, the SSID is dissapear - checking with my phone (android - wifi analyzer) and TL-WN822N USB wifi adapter (with the inSSIDer application). Meanwhile the cable clients and the WAN connections works fine, didn't experience anything. If I restart the wifi service with the hardware on/off button, it runs well for some time. This problem appeared when I used the two older official firmware too.
I tried the auto-chanel function width auto channel width, tried to manually set up one of the less interfered channels with both 20MHz and 40MHz channel width, but none of them bring the solution. The intresting thing is, if I change the router with an old D-Link DI-604, the signal is weak, but the wifi connection is stable, with the same TL-WN822N adapter.I tried to guarantee the router, but after two weeks, my reseller said, it looks ok, they - at the TP-Link service - didn't find anything.
I have a TP-Link (TL-WR941ND) wireless router in my living room and I want to expand my connectivity to get to the bedrooms area. I have a D-link (DI-524)wireless G router I want to take advantage of. How can I connect the two routers (no cables to be used) together so I can have acces to the internet from my room?
I got 3 new TP-Link WA901ND PoE access points for a wireless network I manage. Right now I'm using the stock injectors that came with them because I need to get adapters still so I can use them with my PoE switch.

About a week after getting these units installed and having them work great, I started running into problems. One of the unit's system light was not on, and I could not connect to the access point from my phone, or log into the web interface. I did a soft reboot (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in) and it seemed to work fine, but then I had the same problem, and soon both units were doing it. I thought i might be pushing the distance limit the stock injectors have, but then I started having the same problem with a unit that is 10 feet from the injector.
