Just purchased the WR940N to use as a wireless bridge. I expected to be able to have the router join my wireless network, and provide Ethernet connectivity to 4 devices behind it. But I'm missing something in the configuration. I can get it on the wireless network, and manage it via the wireless network. But devices plugged into the Ethernet cannot get out to the Internet. Basically, I have a 192.168.1.x network, and the router is node 192.168.1.3 on the wireless network. I've turned off the firewall and DHCP on the router. The Ethernet devices behind it get an address from my network, but the router inserts its own address in as the default gateway, and my Ethernet devices do not have a route to my 192.168.1.x network, despite having an address on it.

I have bought TP-Link TL-WR841N 300 mbps router. I have 20-25 wireless clients but only 15 wireless clients are able to connect to the router. Is there the limitation on numbers of wireless clients can connect to the router?

Just bought a TL-WR940N and it was always loosing connection and freezing / locking up. I upgraded to the latest FW from the link below URL but it still freezes and loses connection to devices after 8-12 hours, keeps hanging up and pages sometime don't load.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Internet Status Light Blinks Very Rapidly
May 11, 2013I have an older rev a DIR-655 that has served me well. Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed.The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.

I use this router to replace the FO rooter that my ISP provides with the service as it's too limited (no NAT name translation, closes NAT, no uPnP etc...)
So the WR841ND acts as my main router, DHCP server, WiFi AP for all my network. My problem is that once in a while ( every 1 or 2 days) the wireless loses functionality, I still can see it from my devices, but can't connect, even fixing the IP (apparently not a DHCP issue then). The only way to fix this is to shut down the router 10 sec and restart it.
This brings another issue, I have another router (WR741) in WDS dispatching the signal to another part of the house to wired devices (Xbox , wd tv live hub) and it loses the WDS link, again the only way for this router to recover it is to restart it which is annoying.

Oct 27, 2012I got 3 new TP-Link WA901ND PoE access points for a wireless network I manage. Right now I'm using the stock injectors that came with them because I need to get adapters still so I can use them with my PoE switch.

About a week after getting these units installed and having them work great, I started running into problems. One of the unit's system light was not on, and I could not connect to the access point from my phone, or log into the web interface. I did a soft reboot (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in) and it seemed to work fine, but then I had the same problem, and soon both units were doing it. I thought i might be pushing the distance limit the stock injectors have, but then I started having the same problem with a unit that is 10 feet from the injector.

I'm having to reboot what is now my 2nd router every 1-2 days in order for all connections to resume working. My 2nd router was working great since Saturday afternoon, and just now I needed to reboot in order for my laptop to connect to the network.Now that it seems pretty clear the router in general isn't faulty, I suspected that the issue was IP lease related, so I was looking at DHCP settings and changed the lease time to 2880 (max setting), from 120 (default). However, this should only prolong how often i'll need to reboot the router. So, what is it that's causing my devices to disconnect or not being able to connect to the router for a prolonged period of time?

Feb 20, 2012I have (2) Sup 32 configured in a 6509 chassis. I have 1 power supply plugged into the wall and 1 power supply that is not plugged into anything but it is in the chassis and has green light to show that it has been recognized.
My problem is the "system light" on both sup32 remains amber and does not turn green. I have done show modules and sh diagnostics and sh power and everything checks out OK. Also there is an amber light on "active" on the 2nd Sup32 which I am assuming means that it is in standby mode so that would be correct.
Q: My question is could it be the power supply that is not plugged into anything causing the "system light" to stay amber and not turn green?
Q: Will this amber system light on the Sup32 stop the 6509 from running as normal?

Jan 10, 2012AI have a Dir-825 router. The 5GHz is turned off and the wirless is on G/N. I have shawcable for my isp and my firmware is 2.06 and its a Rev B Router. I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. It was around 150ft distance at 4 bars. Now for some reason I can't even go upstairs without getting a 1 or 2 bar signal.

Jan 16, 2011I'm trying to get an HP laptop running Win7 to see a desktop running WinXP on my network (both wired and wireless) When I run the troubleshooter in Win7, it tells me "system clock does not match local time" as the reason. I have a Belkin wireless router attached to my cable router. I have updated the system clock via the internet on the desktop and checked the time setting in BIOS. These seem to match. I have googled around on this and can't find any accounts similar. My son's Vista laptop and the Win7 laptop have seen each other since day one. The laptop and desktop did see each other at one time, but the connection was lost after I went to a hotel and changed public network settings temporarily. I can ping the desktop from the laptop, but it times out when pinging the laptop from the desktop. I'm running an avast firewall on both, but can't see a problem there.

Oct 26, 2011I'm running Windows 7. As stated in the title, once I see the screen blink, I know I have a few moments of connectivity left. The screen will continue to blink, then the wireless network connection icon goes red with an "x" through it. The computer continues to work (albeit with the screen blinking), but with no connection to the Internet. Checking Device Manager indicates no conflicts. Manually pressing the "wireless connectivity button" on this Compaq, which shows green=connected, only turns it red for a second, then back to green as if the adapter is enabled. Doing this prior to the blink-failure cuts the wireless connection as it should. I added iTunes about a month ago, the problem started about two weeks ago.
