I have a wireless router that has other computers that connect with no problems. my laptop says i'm connected to wifi but i can't pull up any web pages. i was told it might be my network settings?
View 3 RepliesI have a TAC on this, but thought I would throw it out here too. We recently upgraded a 5520 to 8.4 code so HTTPS traffic can filter through the CSC. Well, it takes several attempts to pull up any https pages. Cisco thought it may be hardware, so I swapped out the CSC, but before I go through the hassle of moving licnese, I brought a second ASA with CSC, which prior to this was their main ASA running 8.2 code and did not have issues, of course HTTPS did not filter through it either. the exact same thing happened on this ASA. So apparently it is not hardware related. One other thing I found, if I bypass https, it still happens, and the only solution is to shut down the CSC module. Now I think it may be the ASA policy that while not the cause, but is being difficult. I found that if you pull SIP inspections out, and reapply them in testing voice issues, you must reboot the ASA for them to work again. I am wondering if this is the case with the HTTPS traffic not releasing from the CSC even with the ACL having it removed. I need to try that next.

Sometimes it is within a few minutes of using the internet or sometimes it will go a few hours. When I check my connection it shows that I am connected. I have tried troubleshooting, updating IE, trying firefox. Nothing works.

I'm having problems loading web pages. It's inky on one laptop as other devices and pcs work. The laptop in question is running windows 7 and I haven't made any substantial changes to it as of late. The network centre says I'm connected to the router with full bars. When I use chrome it comes up with a dns lookup failed error, IE7 just says cannot display, when I click diagnose nothing comes up. So far I have changed the dns server addresses to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 under internet protocol version 4. This worked until restarting the laptop. I've also typed, under advice, something in the cmd box for dns flush

Some of the machines are Windows 7 and some are XP Pro, but all of us are having issues connecting to web pages, especially pages with lots of pictures. If you refresh it a few times, it may pop up. Some don't ever come up, like weather.com. The server has the same issue, even if you connect it directly to the router.

IE and Firefox both refused to load my homepage (google) or any other page in my bookmarks. Uninstalled and reinstalled both, even going back a couple of versions and still nothing. I know I'm connected as my iPhone works fine. With this in mind, I tried opening up safari to see what that would do and to my supprise, it works fine, bit slow but still, at least it works. So now I defiantly know that the Internet is working.

When I try connecting to it, it appears connected like a normal wireless network -except without the bell sound that I get form my wireless card software when the connection is successful-. However, web pages cannot be displayed nor can I update any software, and it is as if there is no internet connection at all. Actually, I have used my neighbor's wireless internet for a long time before the occurrence of this problem, and I can connect to any other open wireless network without any problems. Do you think that my neighbor has changed something in the settings of his wireless network to prevent me from accessing it? What should I do in order to solve this problem from my laptop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have done so much research and tried almost everything on these forums, but still the internet wont load on my laptop. It is a Acer mini with Windows 7 starter. The other day the internet just stopped loading pages. It shows that it is connect to my router, and when I try to go to a page, it just says loading. I tried to connect with the ethernet chord from the modem and it does the same thing. I think there is a connection, but just wont load pages because the avast will update the virus definitions. I've tried to update the drive, reset the ipconfig. One thing I noticed is that the ip6v says not connected but the ip4v says internet. If I can do anything to get more info I surely will post it back up here, I just need to get my connection back up

The computer I have set up as my media server (Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) is randomly losing network/internet communication. Now, I say communication and not connectivity, because I can still ping it from other computers on my network and I can still ping websites from it (via IP address or name so it doesn't appear to be a DNS problem). But I can't pull up any actual webpages when this problem is going on and none of my media services will connect to the PC. I can't even pull up my routers admin page from the PC while this problem is going on (but I CAN ping the router).

I have checked and I have the correct IP address of 192.168.1.1. I can ping the router and everything hooked up to the router is now working correctly. I was having problem with the router losing the internet ip address and having to turn everything off and then back on to connect to the internet. I reset the router and it seems to have corrected that problem but I now can not pull up the router's ip address. I have tried in Internet Explorer and Firefox. And a tech from the ISP troubleshooted it and said that the Cisco Router was not pulling an IP address. He said he queried the modem and got a null response on the IP address of the router. He cleared the ARP cace and rebooted the ISP modem; still the Cisco Router would not get an IP address. However when I went into the router, I noticed that there were many log alerts. It seems that the router is in quiet mode.

It's been a while since I sent into my router and messed with any of the Storage setting. I recently decided to change things around so I recently went in the router and attempted to access the Storage page but all I get is a blank page with this address http://192.168.1.1/storage/Disk_Management.asp.

i just upgraded from the E4200 to the EA6500. i have a few websites on one of my machines, which i can access from outside my network no problem, but when i try to access it from inside the network, firefox gives the message "the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". i did not have this problem with the E4200.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have many computers and work on a wireless network. We live in a very large multi-unit building in a very large city. We hadn't had any issues with connectivity for a while, but recently the PCs in the office cannot stay connected for more than a minute or two. It happens to our two desktops and one laptop; the only computer that seems immune is the lone apple laptop. The PC laptop has much less difficulty staying on when I sit in the room with the router. The office is literally the next room over, less than 20 feet. The network still shows up as an available network, it just won't connect. All the impacted computers will be fine for maybe a minute and then will all drop out at the same time. Rarely (like once in the past month) there will be no issues at all, and we can stay on all day. We have changed the channel of it a few times, but there are at least 15 other networks nearby. The router is relatively new, it is a Netgear Rangemax Duo wireless n-adapter. We have gotten to the point where we have no idea where to go next.
