I've got a refurbished lenovo Y470 notebook, just out of the box. I was planning on spending the day configuring it, removing bloatware, ect. but I can't acces the internet. I'm at work, there is a guest wireless network for us, I can connect with my phone so the network is up. I was able to connect normally to my home network last night, not sure why I can't connect here. Running win 7 home premium.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt first, it says "limited or no connectivity" and after reading possible solutions, it now says connected and has a very good signal but once I open Mozilla or Google Chrome, there's no internet connection. The icon doesn't also have that blue light that I think is an indication that it has internet connection. My roommate can connect to this wifi with no problems, her notebook is Acer, just like mine. We also have a wifi at home and it connects smoothly. I don't why I'm having problems with this aztech wifi here. Btw, I do not own this wifi or router. It's like an open network.

I just bought a laptop installed with Windows 8. I want to connect my iPhone to the Internet through the laptop. I have tried using Connectify to set up a WiFi hotspot. It works only with WEP and my iPhone can connect to the Internet but my iPhone disconnects from the hotspot after a while and I need to restart my Connectify hotspot, which is really annoying.I googled online and find that I can use the netsh command to set up the hotspot. I run command prompt in administrator mode and type in the following:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=adhocnetwork key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
And then I share the wired network through control panel > network connections > ethernet > properties.I connect my iPhone to the hosted network and typed in the password. I see a tick next to the SSID, meaning it can connect to the hosted network.I also check the status of the hosted network. Both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity show Internet.But when I open Safari on my iPhone, it says no Internet.
I have an Asus U31JG with WIndows 7 64-bit. This laptop is a month old to me and the wireless has been acting up since the day I got it, will explain below. I believe my home network is the problem. I have a Linksys WRT54G with WPA Personal encryption. Multiple times a day my internet quits working even though Windows says it has full connection to my router. To fix this, I open command prompt and use "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew". This fixes the problem for me, it may be a minute or a few hours. The problem is very intermittent and only happens at my home which is why I believe it is my network. However, I changed the wireless channel to 1, the only one around on that channel and tried different security settings. My WiFi works flawlessly if I take my laptop to my friends house where he has a Netgear router. I have also tried a brand new Cisco Router as well as a Netgear router at my house.
I've re installed the driver twice, and the same problem persists in Linux only I just have to disable/enable wireless.
Note: When the internet quits working on my laptop it works on other devices so it is not the internet connection causing this. And my internet is very slow when it is working on my laptop via wireless.
I have a Gateway NV59 that I had not used for some time. Recently I started to use it, and I cannot connect to any web pages. I am connected to my wireless network. I have tried all the diagnostic tests I can find on my laptop, and they do not identify the problem. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have Explorer, Safari, and Firefox browsers and non of them will work.

The room we work in is able to access the Public Wifi but only half of the room has a good connection. I went to the local computer store and purchased a Belkin Dual-band wireless Range Extender and got it all set up, now I have the Public Wifi Extention access and it will connect to it but it has no internet access. Now we have no access to the administor or the network from our facility. How do i get internet access thru this range extender? If i connect from the good half of the room to the Public wifi i have a good connection with internet access but as soon as you put it thru the extender no more internet access.

I connect to my home wifi network and will have excellent signal strength, but after about 20 minutes or so, I will lose internet access, but will stay connected to my wifi network. If I join my neighbor's wifi network I will have the same issue.I will connect to a network, and while still connected, I will suddenly lose internet access (signal strength will remain the same). Switching networks doesn't correct the problem.
When I lose internet, I can disconnect from the network and reconnect mere seconds later and will have the internet access back again.I have reset the modem/router and my computer numerous times but the problem does not go away.
My E3000 has been working fine with 1.0.04 build 6 FW. Recently some devices (kindle, iPad) can't connect to internet while connected to E3000 via WiFi network. Had a look my E3000 router IP is 192.168.0.1 but those problematic devices has IP 192.168.1.XXX allocated by DHCP not sure why. Currently I manually set up static IP 192.168.0.XXX for those devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have experienced some strange behavior of WiFi connection using WRT320N router. ISP provides me the internet in 2 modes (day and night). During day mode max speed is 24 Mb/s and during night 60 MB/s. Modem ADSL (Cisco EPC3010) is connected to Linksys WRT320N and on router is configured WiFi.Now issue. In the day mode everything is perfect. Cable connection gives me 24 MB/s and WiFi connection around 22 MB/s so not so bad. However when my internet speeds up to 60 Mb/s (cable connection via router gives exactly 60), WiFi connection instead speed up as well, just drop to max 17 Mb/s. I have tied several different settings on the router including changes in WiFi band, channel width, different channels (now channel is setup to 1 which is maybe not totally free but no so occupied) and others but unfortunately without significant improvement (in many cases connection just slowed down more).

Band: 2.4GHz
Mode: Wireless-N only
Channel Width: Auto (20MHz or 40 MHz)
Channel: 1
Wireless adaptor: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 (I know that this doesn’t mean anything but Win7 shows that connection is established with speed 144MB/s)Router firmware and WiFi card updated to the newest version.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have many computers and work on a wireless network. We live in a very large multi-unit building in a very large city. We hadn't had any issues with connectivity for a while, but recently the PCs in the office cannot stay connected for more than a minute or two. It happens to our two desktops and one laptop; the only computer that seems immune is the lone apple laptop. The PC laptop has much less difficulty staying on when I sit in the room with the router. The office is literally the next room over, less than 20 feet. The network still shows up as an available network, it just won't connect. All the impacted computers will be fine for maybe a minute and then will all drop out at the same time. Rarely (like once in the past month) there will be no issues at all, and we can stay on all day. We have changed the channel of it a few times, but there are at least 15 other networks nearby. The router is relatively new, it is a Netgear Rangemax Duo wireless n-adapter. We have gotten to the point where we have no idea where to go next.
