I have a wifi connection in my shared accommodation which I use to connect to my Laptop. Now that I have bought a new smart phone, I want to use this wifi with my phone as well. I have a Sony Xperia Neo mobile phone. When I entered the password in phone it said limited connectivity and was not allowing to open the webpages. So what I did was took all the settings of the Wifi like IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, dns 1 and dns 2, manually entered all these in the advanced setting. Now the phone is saying you are connected to the Wifi, But I am not able to open any webpages.
I have CUWN, WLC 5508 is installed and APs are 1142. Network is working fine but I am facing the problem with Android phone which are not browsing for internet.
Android phones connectes with wi-fi, it takes IP from DHCP well, which is pingable from any node of network. even I got be GUI of WLC on Android, but when it goes to browes for internet the message displayed " Page cannot be disply".
In same scenario if configure the Public IP on Android Phone (Via DHCP or Static) then it runs the internet smoothly.
When remote workers - working say from home connect into the company's LAN via an ASA5505, is it then possiable to then go back out to the internet using the ASA as the gateway to the internet. It works if I point towards an internal proxy server.
Everything in our small network worked until today when I had to manually reset the router. We run a application through a provider which requires that we view it from the same IP address for access. We have a statis IP assigned by our ISP solely for this purpose. For simplicity, lets us 220.127.116.11 as the statis assigned by our ISP and 18.104.22.168 as the gateway also assigned by our ISP. The application we need to browse requires that we use the 22.214.171.124 address else it is blocked from viewing. When we hard line into the modem, we are able to browse it fine. When I connect the CISCO router and do it wirelessly, it shows our address as 126.96.36.199 what are the required steps in order to set the CISCO router to use the Gateway address as the browsing IP for computers connected to it. We had set it up about a year ago, and i completely forgot how.
I have time warner cable, they have a service where you can watch TV on your hand held devices.. Only issue is, you have to be on your home network. since thats fairly pointless since if i am home i am watching the 60 inch... i was trying to use VPN to get inside of my network to effectivly fool the app to thinking i was on my home network.
I have a home network using WEP 128-bit router and my phone is Motorola Atrix with AT&T. until I did the jellybean update to android my phone connected automatically with my home wifi but now it won't connect at all. In all other placed with wifi or hotspots it connects automatically and even with secure networks it saves the password and stays connected. I tried my local AT&T store and they said all my settings in the phone were right and suggested I reboot my router which I did. Nothing has corrected the problem. The wifi doesn't stay on long enough for me to put in my password to connect.

Trying to get an HTPC to connect to mobile phone to use phone as a remote. The pc is XP sp3, phone is HTC EVO 3d running smart pc remote lite, wireless adapter is an Airlink AWLL6075. I think the problem throwing me off is all of the guides I'm reading assume that I am sharing an internet connection. This PC is not internet connected. What I want it to do is broadcast its own Wi-Fi connection so that my phone can connect to it and be used as a remote control. How do I set this up?
I am trying to connect to my office wifi which uses a proxy server. Scenario 1: I am using Samsung Bada (wave 1), connected to the internet successfully and also any applications that require an internet connection including Samsung's app store. While, connecting via open networks like home wifi and other friends' wifi also worked without any issue. Scenario 2: Now I also have an android based Galaxy pocket: even after entering all the required proxy setting as mentioned above, I can access websites via browser but cannot access samsung's app store, google's play store, skype, sipdroid etc. I know it is nothing to do with the network administration as I am still accessing via my samsung wave but not via android. Is there anything like a network profile I need to assign for these applications?
I need to connect my laptop with android phone thru Wi-Fi. I have created ad hoc WEP connection in my laptop. Now, the signal strength in my laptop Wi-Fi shows "no signal". Therefore , my phone is not detecting the ad hoc connection which I have created.
My laptop has recently not been able to connect to the internet through my wifi connection. My desktop is fine though it can connect to the internet on the same network, and I have my wireless router connected to my desktop. I thought it was just my laptop having a problem (possibly a virus) but then I noticed that my smartphone is having the same problem of being able to connect to the network but not connecting to the internet. So is there something up with my router?
I am using the HTC One S and a Linksys WRT54GL router and I find that I become out of range once I leave the room with the router. I am wondering if there is some sort of setting that I need to change on the HTC One S or Linksys WRT54GL to make the signal stronger?
My brother owns a Moto Razr, dad has HTC Desire C, friends have iPhone, S3, Nexus 3... all do not have any problems with our wifi connection anywhere in our house. In addition, I'm able to bring my 8 year old laptop across the street and use our wifi on our neighbour's lawn.
I have recently been experiencing a problem. This started to occur after I had gotten new internet service and a new router. I now have comcast, and a new NetGear router. I also have a VOIP phone connected to the router call "AllVoi". Now, whenever I use this phone, all connections on WiFi go down as I am using it. While, when I am using any ethernet connections dirctly from the router, it works fine. It becomes a large problem when you are watching a video or something from a laptop WiFi connection.
I have new cell phones, an Iphone 3Gs and a Motorola Atrix, and cannot get either of them to connect to the DIR-655. Both of the phones recognize the wi-fi signal but I cannot get either of them to hook up. Before I go changing passwords and such, is there anything I am missing or need to do differently?
