Since Avaya phones do not run CDP, how does the phone know which DHCP pool to pull from to get its IP address if the PC is connected to the phone.
Let's say I have a interface config like this interface gigabitethernet1/0/1 cisco3750(config-if)#switchport mode trunk cisco3750(config-if)#switchport access vlan 126 [code]....
And two DHCP scopes configured on the switch. What keeps the phone from pulling from the wrong scope?
I've connected a dslmodem/router to a fast ethernet port(fa0/1) on a 2620 router. There is a 2950 switch connected to the other port (fa0/0).I can ping the Internet via the router but and the switch but not from a host connected to the switch.I can't reach the dslmodem from the host pc.I've configured nat(overload) on the router.
how my switches are configured, a cisco 3750 and a cisco 4506.[code] i can ping the gateway from the 3750 however cannot get anything past that or enything to it.
I'm having some trouble getting my head round the following but I think it's routing related?
I have a Cisco 3750 switch with the following configured:
interface Vlan1 ip address 192.168.0.223 255.255.254.0 no ip route-cache
[Code].....
The 3750 is connected to a firewall which handles the routing. From the 3750 I can only ping remote networks from the vlan1 interface not from vlan6,8 or 10 i.e ping 10.34.37.101 (remote network) source 192.168.0.223 (vlan1) works but ping 10.34.37.101 source 10.74.10.1 (vlan10) does not? I can ping 10.34.37.101 from computers on the various vlans but not from the 3750 it self.
I looked at setting a default gateway for the various vlan interfaces
I have 2 switches. 2960 and 3750. I have trunk on both ports of the switch. there are couple of vlans and ports are assigned to those vlans. examples are management, voice and data. int vlan 1 has ip there is default gateway the hosts are able to connect to the internet when connected to the switch.
I have one 12-port 3750 switch having one gig connectivity with ASR-9010 router having IOS-XR. I am not able to ping this link with 9000 mtu size. I have enable system mtu jumbo on switch to 9000 and on ASR router interface mtu is set to 9114. At switch side switch interface is configured as a trunk port and one vlan has been passed on that interface. I am not able to ping the ip 172.16.10.2 with 9000 mtu size.
In my customer having 3750 switch and they have simply assign IP address for vlan and enable telnet in switch and other things are same as default switch. In this switch they have connected 8 cisco layer 2 switches(6 managed and 2 unmanged switch) and approximately 5 servers connected in this switch. In a particular interval, users accessing File server are connected to 3750 switch become hanged for few min. This happen for some particular interval.users accessing this server becomes entirely hanged for few min, then i have configured port monitor cmd and i have installed one wildshark tool to host connected directly to that switch.
Any method of forcing a non connected switch port LED to blink for a certain number of times regardless if there is anything connected. The purpose of this is we have remote 3750 switch stacks and quite often have to tell non technical staff to patch to a certain port. It would be much easier if we could say "Connect it to the empty port which just started blinking orange" as the port numbers are difficult for them to see in these locations.A similar feature is available in the ethtool package for linux which makes it really easy for identifying ports on servers. It would be great if a similar feature is available on Cisco switches.
I have an Cisco 6500 CS and there is a Cisco Unified Communication Manger Server connected directly to the Core Switch.I tried to change duplex and speed ( fix and auto ) for both sides, but the same problem.
We have Dell M6220 blade server that server is connected to cisco 3750 switch. I am trying to configure LACP in 3750 for two port which are connected to Dell M6220 server switch. The channel-group 2 mode active commande is not taking then its showing the error protocol mismatch and if i run show int port-channel 2 command the port channel status is showing down. The Dell server switch is on simple mode. below i have attached the required details.
Switch#show int port-channel 2 Port-channel2 is down, line protocol is down (notconnect) Hardware is EtherChannel, address is 0000.0000.0000 (bia 0000.0000.0000) MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255 Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
When I ping my video streaming host's IP address (the IP that they gave me where I can view my IP web camera's video stream), I get anywhere from 0% to 8% packet loss at various times of the day. They're claiming that there's no problem, that this is because this is a router and it's dropping ping packets due to "ping priority giving preference to more important network traffic."
i'm having some problems to configure.i have two sites, a primary site and the secundary site, in both sites every switches are layer two. I configured and activated the RSTP (802.1W) in every switch, but about every 30 minutes the topology change and happening a delay in network and loss some ping (ICMP).
Pinging 98.137.149.56 and had 100% packet loss; this was suggested in another thread. LAN connected at 100 Mbps BUT cannot access Internet! Windows XP HP desktop; Belkin N Router; Optimum Cablevision - Modem Scientic Atlanta "Webstar"
In my network i have Cisco nexus 4 switches those are running as redundancy and fault tolerance. I have mulitple VRF instances are running, when i tried to ping the gateway IP (hsrp Virtual IP) witch same VRF instance it is getting packet loss.
I recently moved from an old apartment in Downtown Montreal, to a suburb area, but still close to where I was before (10 km). I am using the same ISP provider, Videotron. The same speed. I was playing games perfectly fine before, but now something is really wrong. Whenever I join a server, my ping skyrockets up to close to 200, sometimes drifting to 130 but never going below... and often rising back up again.Keep in mind that I filter servers by their pings. I only join servers that display a low ping (although often I won't see any, when I refresh.. there they are). I'll see a server with 30 ping, join it, and be at 200. I'm mainly trying to play Chivalry Medieval Warfare. It's entirely unplayable. Not only is it impossible to properly time parries anymore, but I also get a lot of rubberbanding. I've tested the internet here, and the speeds are accurate. 10 mbps down, 1 mbps up. I am connected to a Linksys E1200 router. I've tried everything I can possibly think of.I went into the router setup, disabled the firewall, added myself to a DMZ, tried to forward every port for steam (although it didn't seem to recognize it as a program)... rebooted the modem, my computer, the router, tried a different Ethernet cable.. nothing is working. It's very depressing. Nothing has changed on my own computer in the move.
about 4 weeks ago we started experiencing Packet Loss and High Pings while playing games. This affects our 2 PC's and our PlayStation 3 (Since we use them for gaming). We have contacted our ISP several times regarding the issue but each representative we have talked to has had different ideas of what the problem is. They replaced the modem twice which did nothing, so I then purchased 2 new Router's (DIR 601 N150 & DIR 835 N750+). Neither of them solved the issue. my ISP also says it isn't the Internet Cable that is causing the issue. My Download Speeds and Upload Speeds are right where they should be but the ping and the packet loss is the problem. I also contacted DLINK (Router Manufacturer) to see if they had and all we did was upgrade the firmware version and change the Wireless channels which also did nothing. I have plugged this PC into the modem with an Ethernet Cord and played games and all the issues were gone which leads me to believe that Modem and the ISP aren't the issue.
Things I've Tried:
-Resetting the Modem -Testing each Wireless Channel on my Router -Enabling and Disabling 802.11n and 802.11g on the router -Changing the QoS settings -Installing Software such as Gamebooster and Advanced System Care -Disabling all Antivirus programs and Firewalls on the PC's -Using a friends Modem instead of the Cogeco one

I have a switch stack with three WS-C3750X-48 switches running 12.2(55)SE. Recently, stack member 3 went offline for a few minutes, after being online for over a year. A show version on member 3 reports that the system returned to ROM by power-on.
Stack member 3 shares a UPS with a router that did not lose power and all three stack members have stack power with four 350 WATT power supplies between the three of them. There are no crashinfo files on any of the switches, log files show the stack ports on the other switches going offline then switch 3 being removed from the stack.
Surveillance recordings show there was no one near the switch during the time and AAA accounting shows no clues. Is it possible the switch crashed without leaving a trace in the logs, a crashinfo file and report that it returned to ROM by power-on?
I've read before that loose stack cables can cause stack member reboots. Would such an event generate log messages other than the stack ports changing states to down?
I'm facing a problem regarding loss of ping packets when i do ping test from nexus3k to another nexus3k connected directly.however there is no error counters on the interfaces on both of devices.the ping failutre is occurring only whenever i do ping test with a large number of ping packets.I don't see the ping loss symptom with default ping test (default ping test is 5 packets).
H/W : N3K-C3548P-10G S/W : 5.0(3)A1(1) nexus3k# ping 1.1.1.2 PING 1.1.1.2 (1.1.1.2): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 1.1.1.2: icmp_seq=0 ttl=254 time=2.732 ms 64 bytes from 1.1.1.2: icmp_seq=0 ttl=254 time=2.732 ms
I've been having an unusual networking issue lately, where everything runs smoothly apart from when one user's laptop is connected to the WLAN. All users on the network get something between 20% and 60% packet loss, only when this user's laptop is connected. I've made sure all the TCP/IP settings are reset to default, I've reset the router to factory settings, but the problem persists. This only came on recently, and I don't believe anything changed.
Can your wireless router do a ping test to 66.161.11.90 [URL] or any other [URL] for that matter?Mine can't, either with my wireless PB G4 running OS X 10.4 or wired Dell running Windows XP. I tried it with a wrt54g v5 & wrt54g v6 both tests got a 'request timed out' with 100% packet loss. v5 had the latest firmware, v6 is still at 1.00.9
I have to sites connected togather using 4 MBps Link over the tunnel terminated on asa 5510,the call manager in site 1 and the other users on the site 2 unable to register with call mamager on site while i have a suceesull ping goes from site 2 to site 1 (call manager ip) so why this phone its not registered ,so in term of network no problems coz the ping gets through and am rely on ping to confirm that no network problem
----is there any udp traffic problem that prevent the phone registration
We have 2 of the SG200-26 switchs. When ever we loss power all the settings are reset to default. Even if we loss power for 1 min. This includes the IP, user, password, etc. How can I change this so the settings are saved?
We have a 100Mbps metro-ethernet link connecting to a remote site. This link is terminating in our 3750-x stack switch. We are getting a LOT of output drop on that interface and our remote IP Phone calls keep going off because of that.I've disabled all kind of QoS, but no luck.
I have a bsnl wireless modem but I can't access internet through my phone.Though i have enabled the wlan and set up all the configurations I can't connect using the wireless.
I have time warner cable, they have a service where you can watch TV on your hand held devices.. Only issue is, you have to be on your home network. since thats fairly pointless since if i am home i am watching the 60 inch... i was trying to use VPN to get inside of my network to effectivly fool the app to thinking i was on my home network.
I have a wifi connection in my shared accommodation which I use to connect to my Laptop. Now that I have bought a new smart phone, I want to use this wifi with my phone as well. I have a Sony Xperia Neo mobile phone. When I entered the password in phone it said limited connectivity and was not allowing to open the webpages. So what I did was took all the settings of the Wifi like IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, dns 1 and dns 2, manually entered all these in the advanced setting. Now the phone is saying you are connected to the Wifi, But I am not able to open any webpages.
I have an issue on the Cat 3750 on the voice vlan; IP Phone not registering with PBX & Signaling Server. The ip phone hits dhcp and gets an ip address from a data scope. Data scope does have dhcp options for voice, same as voice scope so it should work but it doesnt. We removed the switchport access vlan 50 command, and left the switchport access voice vlan 51, and now the phone registers.Anything I can check on the switch to make sure voice vlan is working? Any debug voice vlan commands? The switch doesnt seem to distinguish voice and data traffic.I check dhcp and both scopes vlan 50 and vlan 51 have the same configuration. Defautl GW is different of course Catalyst 3750 is running 12.2(25)SEE2 [code]
On my phone I connected to the wireless network but the internet won't work apparently you have to do something with a proxy and type in a router code.
the phone connects to the 3750-A access layer switch (VTP mode client) which connects to the nexus 5596 (The nexus is the layer 3 device and set to vtp mode server) and finally we have a Voice recorder that connects to another access layer 3750-B switch.(VTP mode client)
For voice recording I need to setup RSPAN and the nexus5596 does not support RSPAN will the following have any impact on the nexus
IF I move the 3750-B to VTP server mode and run the command remote span on the VLan I need to Rspan its going to update the VTP data base in short it will update the vlan.dat file for all the switch in that VTP domain.
AS the vtp update reaches the nexus saying there is a change (keeping in mind the nexus does not support rspan not sure hows its going to handle that request and how its going to update its vlan.dat file)
Is it going to incremment the VTP revision number? can it crash the vlan.dat file on the nexus ? or do nothing and ignore the update and stop the update from proceeding to the 3750 A switch?
