I am connected wirelessly on my laptop to my DIR-655 (D-Link) router. There is something weird going on to me in which is shows I am connected to two networks, one my home network clearly identified. The other one a "public network" listed as unidentified, all on one wireless connection. I run Windows 7 SP 1 32-bit. I would like somehow to merge or remove the second one from the listing.
View 1 RepliesI just purchased an AE2500 today for my desktop computer because my router is in another room. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I tried installing the software from the disk first and it would not detect the adapter. But Windows did detect the device and I was able to manually install the drivers and in the control panel it says the device is working properly. When I go to the network sharing center no network is detected I then go to the netwokr adapters and the device is disabled. I try enabling the device and it will not. So then I go and boot in to Windows 8 RC and the device is detected and works fine and everything seems fine. I downloaded the driver from the website tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it with the downloaded version and still a no go.

Set up a Smart Wi-Fi yesterday. Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router N600. Have 2 computers side by side. Connected my computer seamlessly. Works perfect. Went to set up my husbands computer (both computer are desk top HP Pavillion running windows 7) and the way I was doing it thru the network sharing center on his computer I was not able to get the computer to see the wi-fi. I tried both the router p/w and the p/w that was supplied by the smart wi-fi help center. So I wired it directly to the Linksys router with a new cat-5 ethernet cable. VOILA..internet connection! Question..is his computer secure even tho it doesn't have it's own p/w and is wired directly to the router? My thought is "yes" since the router is p/w protected.

I have been using Dell Vostro-1320 laptop with Windows XP. It was running good. Recently I have installed the McAfee Internet Security software. But now I do not have internet access through this laptop although the network icon shows "connected". I have tried all the advice/solutions for such type of problem by doing Firewall off/on and changing adapter & network setting. I also updated all the drivers. But nothing works. It is notable that my other desktop is working properly in spite of installing this software.

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. When I run the automatic troubleshooter, it does not detect any problems with the connectivity.

We have had this issue for a long time in our enterprise. I don't work all the time in networking. I did a CCNA a while ago. We used to have a network manager who set everything up but he left the company. Basically we have this issue that if you connect to Cisco L2TP Remote Access VPN you can't access any resources at our Data Center. Also if you connect directly to the LAN.

[code] If I connect my computer to the HAG, it, of course, works fine.Yesterday, I hit the reset button on the back of the conitech router (because they didn't have the password) and went through the setup wizard, connecting my HAG to the WAN port on the router and it worked fine, both connecting via wireless and with a cable to one of the LAN ports on the router.Today it is no longer working. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy WAP4410N is configured with 4 seperate SSIDs. Two of the SSID status are showing "Enabled". The other 2 are shown as "Connected". The one that are showing as Enabled are not receiving any packets. Devices connected to the SSID that shows "Enabled" are unable to connect to the network. Any one else encountered similar issues before? This issue just surfaced few hours ago. The device has been using for around 2-3 years with minimal issues.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe route is connected to that. Wirelessly, there are two laptops and sometimes an iPad and sometimes a Wii. Verizon DSL. I barely use my laptop during the week, but did notice some connection issues maybe Thursday and Friday nights. All day yesterday and today, as well. I will have a connection for maybe 5 minutes and then get errors loading webpages (and/or videos stopped). I will repair the connection and it will say everything is fine but it will not work, repair again or disconnect/reconnect(sometimes, several times) and then it works for 5 minutes or 20 minutes before the same thing happens. The other laptop is having the same problems. What I have tried so far: restarting the PC, both laptops, the router, and the modem. Resetting the modem. I have not moved any furniture or anything that would cause interference. I am worried because I have been trying to make more money and started at this site called Treasure Trooper which seemed okay-surveys and the like. There were a few pay-to-download things I downloaded but did not run. Avira found a trojan and I deleted it (not sure if the two are related, but I can not think of anything else I have downloaded or installed in the past month or so).The old PC is off; the Wii is on but probably only maintains a small connection. The iPad and other laptop are not mine, but if either is on, they probably have little to no activity right now since the user is away.

I have a D-link DIR-825 router and it has worked every time except today. I havent used my Netbook very much at home though, maybe a few times a year as I usually take it with me on trips.
I attempted to narrow down the problem. I called D-link as my router was still under warranty. They advised clearing all my old connections and rebooting but I got the same problem. I told them my Sony PS3 works, so they suggested I contact Acer as they think it is not the router. My direct hardwire connection also works.
I then took my Netbook to Best Buy and it worked there. The guy said they can pay a visit to my house as it is probably interference of some sort. This will cost $100. Why would my PS3 work if it was interference? Maybe it�s the proximity of my Netbook to something, but I tried it near my PS3 and it still had the same problem.
Id rather try to solve the problem myself first. I havent changed anything except a modem and Windows 7 updates.
as gone all of a sudden. Checked cables, restarted both router and PC, and even rang provider with questions.. Router seems to be working fine as laptop and iphone both got internet access with the same router. The Local area connection icon showed limited on no connectivity snd so the provider renewed the IP manually and local area connection says its connected now but there is no internet access.. They suggest it could be something to do with firewall or something else blocking it but as far as I am concerned I did not make any changes to the pc the night before when it was actually proper connected.. The desktop pc is running windows XP and I tried downloading ethernet controller driver from the web and upgrading it but it did not improve the situation.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my Linksys WRV54G with a Linksys e2000 where I stream H.264 vido in 480p from one computer connected over gigabit to my Media Center running on Windows 7 64 bit connected at 10/100.
Before the router change, I was able to playback video over the network with no problems. If I connect the Linksys WRV54G again, the issue goes away. The Linksys WRV54G does not have gigabit and I have read related issues of video stuttering over gigabit.
I see some other threads about this same thing but I wanted to start my own to keep track if what I did. I know zilch about computers.I have an ACER I got less than a month ago. I have Verizon mifi. I have tried on multiple Cisco Switches 2950T, 3500 and 3550T with same result. what odd is these pc's can plug into a Netgear or ActionTec(Verizon) type of switch and work fine. Is there some command I need to apply to those ports to make it work with these GBE controllers. Or How do I get these Gigabyte Mobo(NiC) to work on Cisco Switches?
On rv110w, I have 4 vlans. vlan3 feeds a dumb switch and a Wireless AP. When looking at router DHCP leases, it shows devices connected that are not connected. Kinda like it doesn't refresh the list. Set to 50 leases. Questions: Is this normal? How often should it refresh? Is the DHCP time put in as minutes???
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am having Inspiron N4010 for almost an year now. I have had many troubles with this but never with internet connectivity. Last week I saw myself not being able to be connected to internet through wireless or wired network while everybody else was connected and surfing. I just thought it to be a small problem and the problem seemed resolved that very day itself on its own.
But today this computer has simply failed to get connected. it does get connected, open a page or two and then again refuses to connect. On the problem diagnoses from network sharing center, it was showing that the websites are not responding, then it started showing that DNS server was not responding while all my setting are correctly configured. I pinged gateway and it responds but on pinging some website there is no response at all. It s a problem with my laptop only as everybody else are using internet very well. I am using internet through my WiFi enabled cell phone using the same connection and router that i use for my laptop. I need an urgent solutions as I have to meet some deadlines regarding assignments.

the question is why is this showing that Gig0/3 is being used twice to connect to two different devices. I have verified there is no hub connected to this port and in fact Switch3 is not connected to Switch1 at all yet it still shows up in the CDP table.
I have cleared the CDP table on every device at this location and still get the same results.
