On rv110w, I have 4 vlans. vlan3 feeds a dumb switch and a Wireless AP. When looking at router DHCP leases, it shows devices connected that are not connected. Kinda like it doesn't refresh the list. Set to 50 leases. Questions: Is this normal? How often should it refresh? Is the DHCP time put in as minutes???
View 11 RepliesAfter nothing but hassles with my Linksys WAG120N, I bought a Cisco RV110W. Yesterday, I tried setting it up with the Linksys being used only as a modem. I was unable to though because when I entered 192.168.1.1 into my browser as per the Cisco setup instructions, I was taken to the admin login for the Linksys. This seemed odd to me, because the Linksys was not connected to the PC at all. The connection setup was exactly as specified in the RV110W instructions: modem connected to dsl line, ethernet cable from modem (Linksys WAG120N) to the slot marked "WAN" on the RV110W, another ethernet cable from RV110W to my PC. Despite this, the admin page was for the linksys not the cisco.
Today, I exchanged the WAG120N for a Netgear DM111P, just a modem, not a router. Same setup configuration: modem connected to dsl line, ethernet cable from modem (NetgearDM111P) to the slot marked "WAN" on the RV110W, another ethernet cable from RV110W to my PC. Same result - type in 192.168.1.1 and get taken to the admin page for "Netgear DM111P" .
I upgraded to firmware version 1.0.03 I started to have this weird issue: I have four PCs connected to this wireless router via wireless G. They all run Windows 7 Home Premium. After a few hours I started to notice that the DHCP client table is empty even if all four PCs are connected to the internet. This causes a networking problem because one of the PC serves as a file server and it grants access by IP addresses. Not being able to "see" those computers, my access is denied.

I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

I need to delete a device from CiscoWorks but I cannot find it in the Common Services->Device Management search. I can find it by IP address using the Network->Object Finder . It has an IP address, hostname, display name, and "managed by" information in the search results. Supposedly its managed by:
RME
IPM
DFM(listed twice)
However, when I click on the device link , it has almost no tools available (limited to ping) and no device information. I'm hard pressed on how to delete the item withouth having it in Common Services so that I can select it and then click on "delete" . how I can purge this device?
I have a Windows 7 Laptop which has got a red X on the connectivity icon even when connected, and this since april. Now, I don't have any idea of what caused it. I have Tunngle installed, but i don't think that's the problem. I also have updated my internet drivers, but without success. View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my firmware to 1.01 my web interface for the network settings screen has been random. Somtimes it shows a DHCP reservation list, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes there are reservations, sometimes there are selectable radio buttons. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if this is a firmware issue or not. Ever since I updated the firmware it has been flakey.... But I was having issues with other stuff before that. When there are no reservations, sometimes i can't even select any computers because there aren't any in the drop down, when all of my hardware is online?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe route is connected to that. Wirelessly, there are two laptops and sometimes an iPad and sometimes a Wii. Verizon DSL. I barely use my laptop during the week, but did notice some connection issues maybe Thursday and Friday nights. All day yesterday and today, as well. I will have a connection for maybe 5 minutes and then get errors loading webpages (and/or videos stopped). I will repair the connection and it will say everything is fine but it will not work, repair again or disconnect/reconnect(sometimes, several times) and then it works for 5 minutes or 20 minutes before the same thing happens. The other laptop is having the same problems. What I have tried so far: restarting the PC, both laptops, the router, and the modem. Resetting the modem. I have not moved any furniture or anything that would cause interference. I am worried because I have been trying to make more money and started at this site called Treasure Trooper which seemed okay-surveys and the like. There were a few pay-to-download things I downloaded but did not run. Avira found a trojan and I deleted it (not sure if the two are related, but I can not think of anything else I have downloaded or installed in the past month or so).The old PC is off; the Wii is on but probably only maintains a small connection. The iPad and other laptop are not mine, but if either is on, they probably have little to no activity right now since the user is away.

I have a D-link DIR-825 router and it has worked every time except today. I havent used my Netbook very much at home though, maybe a few times a year as I usually take it with me on trips.
I attempted to narrow down the problem. I called D-link as my router was still under warranty. They advised clearing all my old connections and rebooting but I got the same problem. I told them my Sony PS3 works, so they suggested I contact Acer as they think it is not the router. My direct hardwire connection also works.
I then took my Netbook to Best Buy and it worked there. The guy said they can pay a visit to my house as it is probably interference of some sort. This will cost $100. Why would my PS3 work if it was interference? Maybe it�s the proximity of my Netbook to something, but I tried it near my PS3 and it still had the same problem.
Id rather try to solve the problem myself first. I havent changed anything except a modem and Windows 7 updates.
as gone all of a sudden. Checked cables, restarted both router and PC, and even rang provider with questions.. Router seems to be working fine as laptop and iphone both got internet access with the same router. The Local area connection icon showed limited on no connectivity snd so the provider renewed the IP manually and local area connection says its connected now but there is no internet access.. They suggest it could be something to do with firewall or something else blocking it but as far as I am concerned I did not make any changes to the pc the night before when it was actually proper connected.. The desktop pc is running windows XP and I tried downloading ethernet controller driver from the web and upgrading it but it did not improve the situation.

I have tried on multiple Cisco Switches 2950T, 3500 and 3550T with same result. what odd is these pc's can plug into a Netgear or ActionTec(Verizon) type of switch and work fine. Is there some command I need to apply to those ports to make it work with these GBE controllers. Or How do I get these Gigabyte Mobo(NiC) to work on Cisco Switches?
My WAP4410N is configured with 4 seperate SSIDs. Two of the SSID status are showing "Enabled". The other 2 are shown as "Connected". The one that are showing as Enabled are not receiving any packets. Devices connected to the SSID that shows "Enabled" are unable to connect to the network. Any one else encountered similar issues before? This issue just surfaced few hours ago. The device has been using for around 2-3 years with minimal issues.

I have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

But now I do not have internet access through this laptop although the network icon shows "connected". I'm having problems setting up VLANs on my RV110W Small Business Router. I have updated the firmware to the latest : 1.1.0.9 Here is my set up :
WAN settings :
IP : 192.168.1.252 / 255.255.255.0 - Gateway 192.168.1.254
VLAN1 (default) :
IP : 192.168.2.254 / 255.255.255.0
VLAN3 (test) :
IP : 192.168.16.254 / 255.255.255.0
Inter-VLAN routing option is checked.
Symptoms :
- The communication from VLAN1 to WAN is fine
- The communication from VLAN3 to VLAN1 is fine
- The communication from VLAN1 to VLAN3 is not working

As you can see, the gateway for VLAN3 is set to 0.0.0.0, which is wrong I believe. I don't know how to update that. I tried to add a a static route for the subnet, but the router did not let me do that.
