View 4 RepliesAfter implementing TACACS, one of our routers takes about 8 seconds to response to any CLI command. We have no problems with other devices in the same location with the same AAA configuration. The router is talking to the ACS server (ACS 5.3) and the logs on the ACS server look normal for the router as well.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am managing a firewall over remotely in my LAN itself. I started a continous ping to the Firewall IP and the response is less than 1 ms.
While applying some access control list to the firewall via putty ...Suddenly the latency is going hing and it is hitting xxxx ms. And also the acl are getting pasted on the screen by word by word. Sometimes i used to get some RTO for the Firewall IP Address inth eping response.

Periodic Slow Response 2821 (300+ms, 1 minute) My solarwinds NPM reports very slow response times from my satellite clinic.Often times it is 300ms to 600ms when it should be 10-15ms. CPU does not seems to spike, the memmory does not seem to spike The bandwidth does not spike.It happens mostly during work hours about 10 times a day Solarwinds reports the delay and then 2 minutes later it reports normal activity

We have static route for our network meaning no routing protocols ?We have 12 other clinics with the same configs and they are fine?I have double checked the configs but I am not holding my breath on that item?I have rebooted the router without affect
I have not replaced the cable to the demarc on either side of the WAN connection?I have not reseated the service provider T1 cards?I have not reseated the T1 card on either router.
Each time I'm rebooting my E3200 device my ping to my ISP is 20ms. Few hours later the ping goes up to 300-500ms.Than I reboot again and the ping is going down to 20ms again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning ACS 5.1 appliance, and am seeing slow repsonse on TACACS authentications due to the ACS trying to reach overseas AD servers and failing. Is there any way to configure a /etc/host/ file locally on the ACS in order to force the appliance to use specific AD servers for authentication? As I understand the process currently, the ACS appliance will query the top-level domain and get a list of all the AD servers in DNS. In my case, this would include the AD servers overseas that we do not want to use.

Didn't work at all, except for a vague sense I got that the internet wasn't spending as long 'down' as previously when it did drop.And now today my housemate and I are both connected and suffering these intermittent drops, which become more and more frequent, until finally the internet cuts out and won't return. Now I cannot get the TP-Link router to connect to the internet at all. However, switching back over to the original D-Link router now the internet DOES work, but still only intermittently. As I've been writing this it's dropped out for a couple of moments twice!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got the Di-614+ connected to a Wimax system. The Wimax is plugged into one of the LAN jacks in the Di-614+ (i tried pluggin it into the WAN jack but it does not work). I'm able to use the internet fine without any problems using the wireless connection on my laptop.
The thing is the ip 192.168.1.1 is set to open up the setup page of my Wimax modem. I cant seem to access the setup page of my Di-614+. I tried disconnecting the Wimax jack, and still google chrome just responds with "This webpage is not available". My other option is to hard reset the wireless router. But i worry it will ask for a password and i wont know it.
I use Comcast, and am trying to set up an FTP server that I can access from outside my home network. I need the external IP address for that to work, and I have gotten this IP address from IPChicken. I can ping it from the internal network just fine, but when I'm connected to a different network (I've tried two), I get no response, using both the IP address and the associated host name. Of course, I also cannot log into FTP.
I spoke with Comcast support, and their advice was to enable MAC filtering and add the external IP address to it..
I recently bought a A-Link WNU(m) USB adapter to replace my unnamed unknown wlan thing i had scavenged off an old HP machine. The installation and configuration went fine and windows shows full bars of signal. However, when i ran a speedtest i noticed it was slow as %&/(. The download speed was 0.50Mbps, but on my laptop and with the old Wlan thingie my speed was 7.00 Mbps.
I have tried changing the WLAN channel three times. I have set my wireless to 802.11g only mode, and i have changed the USB port once. The packaging says that the thing has wireless data rate up to 75MB at 20Mhz channel, and 50m range in an office environment. The router is approximately 5 meters from the computer and there is one wall in the way.
Is there something i can do or was my first mistake purchasing a USB Wlan adapter?
I ran a speed test with my new DIR-655 connected to my PS3 and my download is 768kbps and my upload is 1.5mbps. However, my internet connection is 50mbps and 2mbps upload on my computer connected via LAN. While I understand SOME decrease, that's slower than the previous Wireless G router that I had.
I've reset the router twice and it's currently set to the factory defaults. I've even tried setting a static ip address for the PS3 and put it into DMZ mode. However, I'm still getting the slow speeds.
Also, my iPhone 4 is getting about 14mbps download and 2mbps upload. Is that expected?
When I connect through my router, GMail, Livejournal, Yahoo and Facebook and some other sites are really slow, especially Google and Livejournal. If I connect directly to the modem, they are fine. I've reset the modem to factory and it's still slow on both my Vista PC connected with a cable and my GF's Macbook on wifi. I clear the cookies regularly, use CCleaner, scanned for adware, viruses. What do I do?
View 14 Replies View RelatedJust got my fiber Internet 100/100mbit and connected it to the D-Link Dir 655 AP. I only get about 30mbit out of it. I've scanned and tried to change to channel 1, 6 and 11 with no luck, same speed. There is no electronical devices between the AP and the PC. When i go into task manager in Windows, it says i'm connected to the ap with 130mbit. I got the latest firmware.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a D-Link DWA-160 A2 network adapter and it is really slow.I have been using a D-Link DWA-125 N 150 A2 for a while now and it is faster, getting a higher signal.My new network adapter is suppose to be faster.The only thing I can think of is that the software coming with the adapter never installed. I get an error: Wireless adapter not found! insert the adapter now.Thing is, the driver is installed and I can surf the internet.I did some speedtest net tests and I see that my DWA-125 A2 is faster.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 10 Mbps Internet connection, if I connect my PC directly to my modem I get the 10Mbps sometimes more, also I get them if I connect my modem to my switch and from the switch the computer.The problem comes when I connect my modem to the D-link DIR-600 router and from the RJ-45 connectors of the D-link I connect my computer, i get 0.80, 1.5 max. and my wifi devices gets the 10mbps. What is happening with the D-link RJ-45 slots or im missing something in the configuration?
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday, my linksys router broke down suddenly. I went to the store and bought a new one, a d-link DIR-615. After plugging it in and setting it up, i tried loading web pages and it worked ok. It wasn't as fast as my linksys router but it was fine. When i tried loading youtube videos, that wasn't the same story. The videos didn't load. It started playing but then stopped after a couple of seconds. When i connected my computer directly to the modem, the videos loaded fast. There seems to be something wrong with the video streaming.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a new DIR-655 RevB today, and set it all up. It works fine right now in terms of speed, but certain websites (specifically, facebook.com) load very slowly on wireless. I've tried on two computers with different browsers / operating systems and it still loads slow. I also have comcast which I use a linksys router with, and it loads instantly. Connecting through wired works. Also, I get no slow down when connecting wirelessly if I use a VPN. When I do a speed test, I get my full speed, so that's not a problem.
A few things I have tried:
-Changing the wireless channel
-Disabling QoS
-Disabling traffic shaping
-Changing DNS servers
-Transmit only N/G
-Reducing MTU size
-Disable Dynamic DNS
-Disable advanced DNS service
-Connect to facebook through SSL and not
-Turning router off and on again
Also as a side, unrelated problem, whenever I enable a few ports to be forwarded, I can't connect to the internet when either wired or wireless?
Just replaced my old di-524 with dir- 815 and now i have very slow internet ,LAN and wireless,if i hook the di-524 back up internet is back to normal was
going for faster internet and more wireless range.

When I was connected directly to the modem i had a little over 12.5 Mbps
Now I'm stuck at 9.5mbps and it won't go higher!
I read a bit over the forum. I tried turning off the QOS but it didn't change a thing.
Here a little extra information;
My internet provider is Cogeco
MY computer is wired
I tried 2 internet tester, both give me the exact same result
My DIR655 is A4 with firmware v.135.
My normal uplink speed is above 4 Mbps but the speed goes down to 0.4 to 0.8 Mbps. The above unit was received from D-Link as a replacement for the same reason, but it worked for at lease 12 hours.
If the power is OFF/ON cycled, the normal speed comes back but last only about 10 minutes.
I'm paying to get Download Speeds of 25Mbps from my cable provider.
If I plug my computer directly into my cable modem, I get 24.98 Mbps every time.
Using the same speed test, if I go through the DIR-655 I get rates from 2.92 to 10 Mbps.
I'm on Firmware 1.32NA. I'm ready to go out and buy a different brand Router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe purchased 4 AP1232AG access points, intending to use 1 as a router and the other 3 as repeaters. We've spent the past week running power to the repeater locations, installing poles and NEMA boxes, lightning arrestors and 12db antennas. That part went very smoothly.
Now I'm trying to access the APs for the first time and get no response. Cisco states that all the units are set to 10.0.0.1 and that I need to use a console cable from my com port to the console port of the AP. Did that. It also states to use a telnet session to assign an IP, using the setup recommended.
The APs will not respond whether I try a telent, serial or web session. The router center light on all the units is blinking green, which according to Cisco means they are set to the factory 10.0.0.1 and that the radios are disabled. Since it's occurring with all of the routers, I've definitely realized that the problem is operator error. I don't have enough experience to determine where my mistake is being made. I used Indigo to try and reach the routers and the Cisco IPSU as well with no success. I've even tried pinging the router's IP and get no response.
I feel certain that I'm simply overlooking some fundamental and basic task to reach the routers to configure them, but I've been to every technical document on the Cisco site regarding the access and configuration of these routers. I simply can't see my error and it seems like the more I read the bulletins, the less clear it becomes. I'm now stuck.
My WLC 4400 have run the os 4.2.207.54, my ap type is AP1020.And client user authentication by web-auth.Sometimes my user complain cannot login web authentication, because he connot open the web login page.And I try to monitor the WLC by SNMP, I see the http no response.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have an ASA5510 and I am getting absolutely no response from the console port. Not even a blip when I turn it on. If I leave the compact flash in the internal bay, I get Green Power, Amber Status, Amber Active and Green VPN when I start it up. The Flash LED flashes Green twice then goes out. If I move the compact flash to the external bay, all of the other lights remain the same as described above but the Flash LED goes to steady Green. How ever, there is still no response whatsoever from the console port. Have replaced the DIMM but that had no effect. This is a four (4) slot ASA5510 and I have just the one DIMM in slot P13 as described on a post I found. The power supply fan comes on as well as the two (2) fans that cool the heatsink. The other two (2) fans on the expansion module side do not come on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using my DIR-655 for about 2 weeks now with Road Runner wideband services. Starting yesterday my internet became very slow and I discovered the cause was the router. I tried resetting it to factory settings and things will be fine and run smoothly for about 5-15 minutes but after that it goes back to being extremely slow. My speed tests would go from 10ms (normal) to 250-450ms. Before this issue occurred the Dlink was perfect, had full speeds. I am running a wire Ethernet connection.
I am currently using revB and tried upgrading firmware to 2.01NA which had no effect, but make my internet seemingly go back to normal for the first few minutes then nosedive again.I have also changed my speed/duplex settings in Network Config to 1gbs Full Duplex. I've also disabled QoS, and still no change. Not sure what else to do.
When directly connected to the modem everything seems fine. The modem is also the provided Motorola SBG6580 which I have called Time Warner to set the modem into bridge mode and have the DIR-655 connected to it.

Been plauged with some slow speeds lately and decided to check the speeds, with cable in modem i have 4.9 mbps upload but when i go through the router i have 0.3 mbps. Router is relatively new, just a couple months, firmware 8.00.
