D-Link DIR-655 :: Blocked TCP Packet With Unexpected Sequence?

Jul 29, 2012

On my network I have a Netgear ReadNAS connected and I'm using an add-in (ReadyNAS Remote) that simplifies the log in to for both internet and LAN-users. However, I get a lot of the following entries in the log when that add-in is being used.

When an internet user log in via ReadyNAS Remote: "Blocked outgoing TCP packet from 192.168.0.xxx:3649 to xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:50125 with unexpected acknowledgement 3320366884 (expected 754541166 to 755655246)"

When a LAN-user log in via ReadyNAS Remote: "Blocked incoming TCP packet from 69.xxx.xxx.xx:80 to xx.xx.xx.xxx:50329 with unexpected sequence 3004123085 (expected 3004136875 to 3004393915)"

how to prevent them from occuring?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Blocked Incoming GRE Packet Preventing VPN Connections

Feb 1, 2011

I've been fighting with getting VPN connections working properly with my Dlink router. I set up virtual servers for PPTP and L2TP and could usually get the first attempt to work. Subsequent client connections would always fail. The logs display the following-Dropped GRE packet from 192.168.0.10 to 64.232.xxx.xxx as unable handle packet header. Blocked incoming GRE packet from 64.232.xxx.xxx to 76.105.xxx.xxx.What seemed to fix it was going to Firewall Settings and setting UDP Endpoint Filtering to Endpoint Independent and TCP Endpoint Filtering to Address Restricted.

D-Link DIR-601 :: Constant Blocked Incoming TCP Ack Packet Messages In Log?

Nov 27, 2011

Using a Samsung Galaxy S2, iPod Touch 3rd Gen, and Nook Color, they are all experiencing retry problems, even when 3 feet from the DIR-601. When I use them my log gets filled with messages like:Blocked incoming TCP Ack packet from 192.168.100.201:2926 to 209.85.145.113:80 with unexpected sequence On the devices I see the downloads/content taking a long time to appear and often I get a blank page or "Retry" messages. I purchased two DIR-601s and get the same problem with both. They are both running 1.02NA firmware. The WLAN is Time Warner cable modem. Prior to this I had a Linksys WRT-54 that gave great performance, though just at B/G speeds. I was hoping for a performance boost but right now the N speeds are slower than B with the retries.

HTTP GET Packet Sequence

We have a web server running Joomla. There is a plugin to the website which downloads an iCal file from the internet via a URL. The site gives an error when retrieving this file. I can pull the file down manually via a browser, or doing a wget from the command line. However, the plugin fails. [code]I'm sure there's a packet being dropped in here somewhere, but from which side? Why on earth this would work fine through a browser or wget, but not via the PHP code which executes this GET?

D-link Dir-825 :: Wifi Leds Flash In Sequence

May 17, 2011

For about 3 minutes the 2.4GHz and 5GHz LEDs began to flash in sequence, [2.4-5-2.4-5-2.4-5-Both-Both], it just kept doing that. During that time wireless connections were unresponsive. When they went back to normal I checked the router and it didn't reboot or anything. This is the first anomaly I've ran into running the 2.05NA FW.

D-Link DCS-930L :: Mjpg Video Stream Or Sequence Of Jpg Images

Sep 14, 2011

When accessing the camera on mydlink, or on a browser using http://x.x.x.x/mjpg.cgi, I would expect the net bit rate to be substantially less than for a sequence of jpg's, since true motion-jpg uses a lossy form of intraframe compression typically yielding a 20:1 data reduction (according to wikipedia). Indeed, I can readily see this reduction in mjpg clips made on my Canon S5is camera. It's not clear whether that is happening with the d-link DCS-930L camera (640x480, quality "high", java).

D-Link DIR-655 :: Blocked Icmp / Tcp Packets And Udp Timeout?

Jun 1, 2012

got this problem within the last few days

UPnP renew entry 255.255.255.255 <-> 68.98.71.182:61041 <-> 192.168.0.197:61041 UDP timeout:-1 'Teredo' (this one repeated 13 times just in that 1 info slot)

Blocked outgoing ICMP packet (ICMP type 3) from 192.168.0.197 to 109.185.100.195

Blocked incoming TCP packet from 108.170.42.83:80 to 68.98.71.182:36792 as SYN:ACK received but there is no active connection

this goes on for a multiple of different ip's and i believe its due to the fact that the game i play is p2p

QoS is off spi is off udp and tcp endpoint independent firmware version 1.21 i am using wireless cable isp using motorola sb5101 i believe i port forwarded the ports used for the game but that didnt work so i put my computer into dmz. I've  also noticed a lot more jitter then i used to have and my upload speed is down about 4mbps. Was thinking it might just be outdated firmware?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Time Server Getting Blocked / Double Routers

Aug 30, 2011

I'm new to networking (at least at this level) and need some guidance. First, I have an Actiontec MI424WR (Rev. F) Coax Verizon Fios modem that I use as my home networking wireless router.  From a LAN port on that I've connected a cable to the WAN port on my DIR-655 which acts as my gigabit office hard wire/wireless router.  I need to keep the home network and the office network separate. All of my computers are Windows, either 7, Vista or XP.Connected to my Dir-655 on the office network are 2 wireless computers, a printer, an IOMEGA 1TB Home Personal Cloud NAS HDD, plus 2 desktop computers. The DIR-655 is set with a static IP address matching the range of the Actiontec. The DIR-655 is set for DHCP for the devices on the network (although 2 of the computers have static IP address).

When the DIR-655 had a Dynamic IP address set by the Actiontec, the IOMEGA NAS HDD kept losing connection with all the devices on the network. Only after I set the DIR-655 to static IP did that stop and everybody started to play nice. I'm not sure why that would make a difference, but it did.But regardless of whether it is set to dynamic or static, no computer on the network or program, even third party programs, can connect to ANY of the time servers out there... and I mean any of them. I've tried at least 20 or more of the standard and not so standard ones.  The DIR-655's time is off, and it is set to get time automatically.  None of my computers, or my IOMEGA NAS, can access time.  The Actiontec, though, seems to be set correctly.Everything connects to the internet just fine. Web, email, auto product upgrades. Fine. So far it's just the time server thing which troubles.I done everything I know how to do to enable Port Forwarding through both routers for NTP > UDP 123 since that is the standard port for the Network Time Protocol, but I could have easily screwed that up.

D-Link DIR-601 :: Website Filter / Access Control Causes Dropped Connection For Non-blocked Sites

May 4, 2011

I'm trying to set up a website filter on my DIR-601.  I created a policy for 2 MAC addresses, with a schedule from 10AM-6PM, selected "Block some websites", and disabled logging.  Under website filter, I added some entries, and selected "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites".  When the policy is enabled, and I try to access one of the blocked websites, it gets blocked correctly ("The URL access was denied by administrator.")  However, for all other websites, I get "server unexpectedly dropped the connection" errors, eg "Safari cant open the page [URL] because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again." or in Chrome "No data received.  Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data."  This happens with ALL non-blocked websites.   I'm using hardware version A1, firmware version 1.01NA.

Cisco WAN :: 3825 - Packet Loss On Ethernet P2p Link

May 7, 2013

I have two routers, Cisco 3825 and 2811 connected via a p2p ethernet link. The two sides of the links have Huawei muxes with 100/ full duplex set on their interface. I am facing almost 40% packet loss but the supplier is unable to identify any issues at their end. We have tried setting different combinations of duplex and speed settings but no improvement. When set to auto/auto the interfaces are negotiating to half duplex and I am sure this is the cause of the packet loss. Also I heard of auto-negotiation on MUX ports but supplier confirmed no such settings but only 100 Full duplex. If the router iterface is negotiating to half duplex so I suppose there is some thing with the negotition problem with MUX and router port ?

On C3825 I have a Gig interface whileas C2811 has fastEthernet. I guess Gig interface should not negotiate ? Is there a way to pin point the exact fault to supplier ? Also is there work around for this?

Cisco :: RTP Packets Out Of Sequence

Feb 3, 2013

I've no experience in VoIP and been ditched with looking at an IP trunking problem on our network. The users where getting dead lines or silent calls, but it seems after re-seating IP trunking card here and there around the network a few times, all is settled to normal. Unfortunately it's a third party that look after the majority of the telephony, and as they can't figure out why this happens they often say it must be a problem with the data WAN it traverses. So I started trying to figure something out, I have IPSLA monitoring setup in Solarwinds on most of the routers and all looks well from that aspect; MOS is 4.34 and Jitter is only 1ms at worst. I've taken a wireshark packet capture of the IP trunk by mirroring the port on the switch at a main site where I've been told a lot of calls are routed through. Inside wireshark I used the 'telephony> voip calls' tool and decoded all the calls. The output is showing most calls have 'Out of Seq' and 'Wrong Timestamp' at around 25-50%. Although these calls seem fine otherwise, and I took this capture whilst the fault was not occurring. I know I need to capture next time when the fault is occurring, but this is what I have for now.How can i fix this or even start to troubleshoot further?

p.s- each site has two routers running GLBP to the WAN, over two ISP locations. I read something about having consistent routing to avoid packets arriving out of sequence, but haven't found anything yet to say this is how I can/should do that.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.1 Access Rule Selection Sequence

Apr 14, 2011

I just installed a new ACS 5.1 to authenticate wireless PEAP users, so I created an Access policy "WirelessUsers" with identity store being Windows Active directory and all domain users are selected, and create a service rule that dictates that if the authentication protocol is radius, network device belongs to WLC device group, the result service will be "WirelessUsers", so this part worked perfectely, all domain users are able to gain wireless access via their DOMAIN/usernames and domain passwords. Now I want ACS local indentity store users (those local usernames can be the same or different from their AD usernames) to be able to manage those controllers, so I created another access policy "DeviceAdminUsers" with identity store being local users, another service rule which says that if the authentication protocol is radius, network device belongs to WLC device group, the result service will be "DeviceAdminUsers". The problem is that with the setup, whenenve when I try to SSH to WLC, ACS always put me in "WirelessUsers" access policy, even the login name does not have DOMAIN pre-pended or the login name simly does not exist in AD.  if I put the second rule in front of first rule, I am able to authenticate with ACS local username/password and gain access to WLC, but wireless users will fail to authenticate, because ACS is trying to put regular wiress users in "DeviceAdminUsers" access policy. I would expect if username does not exist in AD, ACS should proceed with next rule. Similar requirement was easily achieved in ACS 3.3.

Cisco WAN :: ASR 1001 Unexpected Output Drops

Jan 31, 2012

I have an issue with an ASR 1001. The problem occurs with MQC shaping applied to a gigabit interface in the outbound direction. The CIR of the provider we are using is 100Mb/sec, so we are shaping to that value. However when reported traffic levels are about 60Mb/sec, we see a steady increase in output drops. [code]

I have also tried increasing the hold queue, however this does not work with the drops. Increasing the shaping rate to 200Mb/sec gets rid of almost all the drops (not quite all!) but is not what we need. I think that we should see some drops when rates spike above 100mb, however the amount we are seeing seems excessive?

Cisco :: 2028 WLC Management Interface / Unexpected Traffic

Apr 16, 2012

I have a number of WLCs/WiSM2 running 7.0.230.0 (still using WCS for management). The management interfaces for the controllers are on a purely private subnet. While going through the intenet edge ASA logs I noticed some traffic drops for the controllers on the Inside interface. I took a packet capture from the controllers and found that they were sending TCP traffic to a number of IP addresses (Microsoft, Hotmail and Google) - always with a src port 2028 (submitserver) with the ACK/FIN flags set. Why this traffic is coming from the management interfaces? The management interface is not used by any wireless clients and is not the default interface for any of the SSIDs.

Cisco WAN :: Unexpected Routing Behavior On 7609 Router

Dec 14, 2011

We have a lab network set up with a 7609 router as the central core.  Scenario:  Laptop with a SIP client.  In the lab is a session border controller that will route signaling and media to a SIP gateway with a call agent (172.23.112.201) and a media "handler" (172.23.113.6).  The call processing device will forward packets to an RF network (108.x.x.x) where an NCS cable modem sits.Call signaling works perfectly fine.  However, RTP traffic from the laptop to the NCS phone is getting routed incorrectly.  RTP traffic from the phone to the laptop works fine. [code]

Packet captures show the laptop to phone RTP packets are being routed back towards the corporate router.  These time out with ICMP TTL exceeded packets.  There are static routes for 172.23.113.0/27 to the optical interfaces that go to the SIP gateway.  Interestingly, I can ping an IP on the SIP gateway (not used for media, but is pingable) in that static range (172.23.113.1) just fine from the 7609 (i.e. it's not getting routed to the corporate router).  Unfortunately, the IP for the media endpoint on the SIP gateway is not pingable.  Config for the 7609 is attached.
