I cannot connect my DIR-655 to the Samsung HDTV with apps so I can watch streaming video with Netflix. The router is 60 feet away from the tv but the DIR 655 is advertised as being for a large home. What can I do to extend the signal or better it? I have even tried using my DLink DWL-G710 but have no better results.

Got a decent signal strength, changed router to channel 11 to stop some interference with others in the neighborhood.My laptop and phone connect to the router fine every time.

The router wants me to input information into the Samsung printer, but the printer has no screen, and I cannot find a place to input the router info anywhere in the Samsung software. I am going crazy here...I'm not a techie, but I'm also not a complete technology idiot.

It connects intermittently but the connection is always lost within a few minutes to a couple hours. I have turned off all of the firewalls, and all other devices connect fine. It is an ea4500 running on updated firmware and a Samsung 6900 smart tv. The connection works if I run an ehternet cable to it oith from the modem as well as from the router, but it does not work over the wireless connection.

However, the player is able to connect to the internet (I stream Netflix). I am running Windows XP service pack 3 and both my BD player and PC are connected to the same router (D-Link 601). IP address for BD player is 192.168.0.102 and PC is 192.168.0.100. BD player firmware is up to date.

Have only been using the wired before and it works great but now need to connect note 2 to do backups. I have even tried resetting the router back to factory settings and turning on WiFi again and no luck.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy S4. As I have always done with all of my devices that connect wirelessly, I went into the D-Link software and added my phone's MAC address to the network filter list. The security settings are WPA/WPA2. When I try to connect, the phone is able to see my Wi-Fi network, and it asks for my password, which I enter. It keeps trying to connect, but then it says an "authentication error occurred." I have checked and triple-checked the password, and it is correct. I have also checked and triple-checked the MAC address, and it is correct. I have rebooted the router and the phone several times each.

THen I tried to connect my blue ray player that has a wireless feature. My last dlink router recognized the blue ray without a problem. With the 655, the blue ray can see my router and network, but can't connect, saying their is a dchp issue or I need to fix the IP address. Dlink support told me to upgrade firmware but my version is 2.0, and the only thing I can find is a V1.34.

He wants to connect to the Dlink DIR-615's wifi to cut down on the data usage while at home on his 500mb per month data plan the ssid and the password are fine, but it hangs on the message "obtaining IP address..." which then after a while refuses to continue to connect and labels the connection "disabled"... the connection type is WPA2 AES something or other so as to guarantee wireless N connections for the xbox and my pc (the ps3 doesn't really do everything, it only does G not N lol)...

I have an N1 Wireless Router (F5D8231-4 ver 2). It is setup with WPA/WPA2-PSK on and links to a Windows Laptop and an iPod Touch perfectly. I cannot get my new Samsung Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) connected. I have tried changing the router to WEP 128bit and even no security. The Samsung links perfectly to my neighbours Thomson Wireless Modem/router with no security. The Belkin N1 is recognising the android trying to link and assigns an IP. The Samsung instantly sees the Belkin network ( says " very strong signal") & tries to connect. It saves the network but gets stuck trying to obtain an IP address & reports "network disabled" and "weak signal".

When i use the tv's check for units connected to the tv, it states that no unit is connected. I suspect that my DIR655 somehow blocks for units seeing each other.

I have HDD (Toshiba 500GB) connected to router by USB and started media sharing. (The HDD is started on USB Sharing) Samsung LED UE40D7090 (2011 model) is successfully connected to network,. I can see TP-Link on my LED network but it appears with blue exclamation mark and if i try to access the released folders with files (i can see the files) with TV shows me a message "unknown file formatt" and i can�t access it. On the PC - I can access video, pictures and mp3 content on USB HDD, problem just with TV. If i connect the HDD direct to TV , TV can play all files.

Am trying to use a TP-Link TL-WR702N to connect my Samsung SmartTV to a wireless network, using "client mode".For some reason, the TV refuses to accept it is connected, or even connected to a router. Enabling DHCP on the TP-Link does seem to convince the TV that it is connected to a router, but still not to the internet. Strangely though, I can control the TV via the Android app operating on the local network, so clearly it is connected. I assume the SmartTV is trying to get a response on the local network that the TP-Link is filtering out for some reason, but no idea why.
getting the 825 that the NAS device is plugged in?When I connect the NAS 323 it is not recognized and Easy search utility that comes with the 323 cannot find it. Lights on the router for that port do not light up either. Worked fine with my old linksys.

At the moment, it is in bridge mode, with the blue power indicator on, the orange wireless connection light flashing, and the 1st LAN port connection periodically wavering indicating that it is communicating with my PC. When I attempt to configure the DAP-1522 via my internet browser, (IP 192.168.0.50) I get an error saying that the requested webpage does not exist.

I've tried turning modem and router off, waiting a few minutes, then turning on modem and letting it connect then turning on the router. That doesn't work. As best I can tell the two routers have the same settings. The ISP is using Dynamic IP (DHCP) connection.
I upgraded the firmware everything was fine. This may not be realted to the firmware. I can now connect to the Router but cannot get any Internet or data to transmit wireless. Plug in directly it works fine.

It always worked great in the past, but when I tried it today I can only find a connection on this computer (garbage computer), the other 2 computers in my network can't connect to the internet, they can't even connect to the network at all. Oh and the router I'm using is a D-Link DIR-100. This computer is running windows XP, so is another one in the network and the one I want the connection to work on is running windows 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get neighbour wireless router working. He has a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N 300 Router. I have gotten the router working by manually putting in his PPPoE settings. Now with a wired XP SP3 computer connected via Ethernet, it can access the internet. We then configured his router for WPA2 with AES encryption. We were able to connect up his phone which can handle a WiFi connection. He was able to surf the web using the WPA2 passphrase. So far, so good. The last bit was the upstairs computer which has a PCI D-Link wireless N card in it. That computer runs XP SP2 and we have not been able to get it to connect to the internet.We have tried both Windows networking, and the D-Link Wireless management software. We were unable to get WPA2 working, so we tried WPA, WEP, and finally no security. In each case, we can get the computer to connect to the router by putting in the passphrase (except when no security), and the status changes to Connected. But then browsers are not able to open any internet site.
I have checked the ipconfig settings, they seem to be correct. DHCP is providing the computer with a valid local IP (192.168.0.102), and the gateway is correctly listing the D-Link router.Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. The downstairs Ethernet connected computer has an IP of 192.168.0.100, so they are on the same subnet.We have tried turning "Windows Wireless Zero Configuration" service off, and also tried with it on.We have switched between using the D-Link client and allowing Windows to manage wireless settings. It finds the wireless network, and connects with the passphrase with a good strong signal, but internet persists in not working.I do not have MAC Filtering turned on.I have turned off the Windows Firewall on the wireless computer. What else am I missing?

I've tried to connect a wireless printer (HP for doubts) and the router gave a 169.254.XXX.XXX ip address to it. If I unplug/plug the router, the problem is solved. It can also be fixed by using the "reboot device" tool that the router has at the configuration page. But this only works for some hours, so it isn't
Now, it isn't a printer problem. It has also happened with some notebooks, with around 5 to 6, not all of them. I've tried changing channels, resetting the router, changing password, security password type, changing firmware (present is 3.11NA H/W C2), and nothing can fix it.
My computer is almost always on. My modem and router are always on.Last night I was using the internet, no problems.This morning I woke up to find "No Internet Access".My computer was connecting to the router just fine, but the router was showing a orange Earth symbol on the front (not green).I connected the computer directly to the modem and internet works just fine. After powering off both the modem and router and checking all the connections ... still the router is not "reading" the internet from the modem. And still the internet is there if I connect the modem directly to the computer (that's how I am online and posting this right now).

1. the DAP-1522 will not connect to the 5GHz network of the DIR-815. Although, this doesn't surprise me as none of my 5GHz-capable devices see it, other than intermittently and at low signal. It is most likely an issue with the 815's 5GHz radio/network.
2. OTOH, the 1522 does appear to connect to the 815's 2.4GHz network just fine. However, there is no Internet access for any of the devices connected to the 1522's ports.
I know the 1522 can work correctly on 2.4GHz, as it previously did fine with my prior 2Wire router from AT&T. (I've just switched to Comcast, using the DIR-815 connected to their SMC modem.)
Also, I know the router and modem work fine (at least with 2.4GHz), as all of my wireless devices connect easily and with screaming bandwidth to the router and Internet.
I rencently moved house and after 10 years on cable at 19400 Mbps I'm now on ADSL 1 at 1500 Mbps. I have a DIR-655 which I want to keep, and I've purchased a DSL-526B to connect me to the Internet. (I was originally told ADSL 2+ was available, but then I was told I am on a pair gain system and only ADSL was available.
Before I set up bridging I changed my password on thr DSL-526b now I can't log into the device. Is there a way to fix this without a factory reset?
The DIR-655 has all my DHCP reservations, ACLs, Web filtering, MAC address filters, QoS and schedules. The DSL526B has only a small subset of the features of the DIR-655 so I want to set things up to use the DIR-655 as the controlling device and the DSL-526B as nothing more than a modem.
Once I'm back into the DSL modem, I can set it to bridge mode. My DIR-655 manual appears to say nothing about bridging. So...
(1). Do I only have to enable bridging on the DSL modem?
(2). My ISP runs PPPoE. I note that both devices support this. I assume I leave the PPPoE settings (username, password etc), in the DSL modem, and do not put the details into the DIR-655.
(3). I then plug ethernet cable from DSL-526b to Intenet port of DIR-655
(4). I use 192.168.1.250 as the DSL-526B's address. I used to use the same address for the DIR-655. I assume I need to give the DIR-655 a new address (Eg 192.168.1.251)?
(5). DO I still point the PCs at the DSl-526B for the gateway and DNS or do I point them to the DIR-655?
Had this router for few months working fine, than the modem was slow for our house so we got a new modem called Actiontec Model#GT701D. And we did the Set up but the Internet doesn't work anymore. If we connect the modem to Pc, it works but connecting modem to router it doesn't receive Internet. Another problem wad that for the DIR655 to work we needed to connect another router before DIR655 connected to modem, so we needed to have an extra router to get the DIR655 to work.

I don't have this problem with my Linksys router. E-mailing DLink doesn't facilitate since they tell me to call, and I don't want to sit through menus and scripts. Hardware rev is B1. Connection fails on both wired and wireless.Also, as a side item, D-Link should ignore MAC filter for wired connections.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy setup consists of the following: TP-LINK Router Model No. TL-WR541G and TP-LINK Wireless Repeater Model No. TL-WA500G.I've set the Wireless Mode Settings to Universal Repeater and turned on MAC filtering. My problem is that when I connect to the wireless repeater with a phone or tablet (both working on android) it just wont connect. It gets stuck on "obtaining ip address". The wireless repeater works fine with any laptop, pc, netbook etc. I made sure that all the MAC Addresses are entered correctly. Also the phone and tablet connect fine to the router, but when the router is out of range and it tries to connect to the repeater it doesnt work. I tried all the basic troubleshooting techniques i.e. turning off wifi, turning off repeater & router.
