I am having issues with an IPAD 2 3g IOS 5.01 not being able to connect to a WIFI network based on a DLINK DIR 655
1) It is an open network (No password)
2) the DIR 655 is on firmware 2.00
3) the IPAD 3G sees the network but does not receive an IP
4) a IPHONE 4 has no problems accessing the networl
5) an IPAD2 Wifi has no problems connecting
6) 3g data is turned off
7) I have tried turning the IPAD 2 3g on and no luck.
Ok so I have a couple devices connected to it, but there's a trick with Android phones that users report better battery life assigning an Static IP to the phone, not dhcp or reservation. However I can't figure it out in this router as when I revoked the current address it wouldn't let me add a new one, and when I went to add one at .202 to be outside of dhcp range it doesn't let you and says to enter a number within the range, .100-.199
I've been using the Dir-655 for 2 or 3 years with my old Xbox 360 and an external G wireless adapter. Everything was working perfectly until I got the dreaded Red Rings Of Death the other day. I replaced the Xbox with a new Slim version with built in N capable network adapter.
After more than 10 hours of trying a variety of "fixes" I found from MS and in this forum, I am still at square 1.
Hardware Version : A3 Firmware Version : 1.32NA (this is listed as Live compatible by Microsoft) 802.11 Mode : Tried N only, G only and mixed 802.11n and 802.11g Enable Auto Channel Scan : Checked Transmission Rate : Best (automatic) Channel Width : Auto 20/40 Visibility Status : Visible Security Mode : WPA-Personal Also tried WEP WPA Mode : Auto (WPA or WPA2) Also tried WEP Cipher Type : TKOP and AES
I tried assigning an IP manually from the Xbox. But, no matter what I do, the router will not accept it. It is especially frustrating that the Xbox is visible to the unit. It simply will not assign an IP to it under any circumstance.
If you read the sales hype promoting the Dir-655, you will see a lot of nonsense about it being great for gaming. Given that, you'd think a simple solution would have been found and posted for this issue by now. Surely, end users shouldn't be trying 100 different possible "fixes", none of which work, at this late stage of the firmware upgrades. If I sound a tad fed up, it's because I am. After the expense of the new Xbox, it appears I now have to junk my router too.
Here is the status screen taken when it was in mixed mode. Changing it to 'G Only' didn't make any difference:
I just bought this DIR-601. After many sleepless night, I finally make it work with my PC(AT&TDSL modem). I can access internet with PC, but not ipad2 WiFi.ipad2 WiFi can see this router and I can select it after putting password. BTW, ipad2 Wifi should be OK, since I can access Wifi networks on my company no problem.
My new iPad cannot connect to iTunes for either home sharing or Wi-Fi Sync.I have check the windows event log and provides the following error lists.... 444: ERROR: read_msg errno 0 (The operation completed successfully.)ERROR: mDNSPlatformReadTCP - recv: 10053..The following ports have been set up in Router Port Forwarding/Virtual Servers
-TCP: 3689 -UDP: 5353
I have disabled DMZ and enabled Multi Stream Cast, but it seems no use on the problem solving. The same errors are still provided. iPad cannot in the device list if it is in Wi-Fi connection, no home sharing. As I am not in US, the local supplier latest firmware version is 2.06NA Beta1
Region : Spain Model : TD-W8961ND Hardware Version : V3 Firmware Version : 3.0.0 Build 120524 Rel.05221 ISP : linksys1.jpg I have wifi at home this link installed. 192.168.1.1 is a TD-W8961ND 192.168.1.4 is a linksys wrtt54gl
And I have two problems.
1) I can not see any desktops in my local net, and with old router I could see all, for example (diskstation, dm800, etc...) In my macbook air I can not see my NAS Synology and with old router I do.
2) All PCs that are conected to 192.168.1.4 have not IP. and DHCP in TD-W8961ND is activated.
I am unable to reserve an IP for my iPad, i.e. add my ipad to the "DHCP RESERVATIONS LIST". I get a pop-up saying "The MAC Address entered is invalid." The address starts with "D8". My understanding is most start w/ "00". The router says my firmware is up-to-date (3.01).
I have a DIR-655 with the latest firmware 1.35NA. I also with a wireless connection to a Grace internet radio and a DAP 1522 (with the latest firmware 1.31) set up as a bridge with my direct tv box connected . The DIR-655 ip is 192.168.2.1, Grace radio ip is 192.168.2.177, DAP-1522 ip is 192.168.2.3 and Direct TV box ip is 192.168.2.173. My PC is hardwired to the DIR-655. I can ping all devices from my PC, but cant ping the DAP 1522, Direct TV Box or Grace Internet Radio from my IPAD. I have no trouble connecting to the DIR-655 from my Ipad. It only seems to be anything thats connected wireless to the DIR-655 that I cant access from my IPAD. All devices have the same subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.2.1.
i'm overal content with the router. But i bought myself an ipad and an app to go with it,what it does it, you access your computer from your laptop. You can than transfer files onto the ipad. But the max speed while transfering is 4150kbps, kinda slow imo.
I just setup 3 webcam DSC-930L for a friends with a router DI-655.
I run the setup for the 3 webcams. If I use my dlink on the local network it work, if I used my dlink from let say at work, it work too. If I used the i pad in WiFi it works.
The problem is when I try to use the i phone or the i pad in 3G mode, sometimes it work but most of the time it doesn't, after about 60sec it says something like check your network settings... When I'm able to see something in my dlink app on the i phone, if I return back to the list after that it doesn't work if I switch camera.
Question is, do I have to forward any port on the router in the virtual server section? I'm assuming no since sometime it work and sometimes no. Do I have to activate the UpnP on the router too?
DHCP enabled with default settings. Dynamic IP range from 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199.Router shows laptop with 192.168.0.199 however when I check the IP on laptop I have 192.168.100.10 and both laptops are connected on my SSID with 90% signal strenght.
I was trying to assing statefull link as same as LAN failover link on ASA5520 with VPN Plus license. But i am getting the below error. Is there any restriction in the license itself.
And I can't seem to access Google and Youtube on my iPad, even Yahoo doesn't work. It all started when I updated my DIR-655 to the newest firmware 2.07NA because I wanted to have an Open NAT for my PS3 because it was set on Strict and I wasn't able to fix it other than updating my router. Now, Youtube works, but I can't play any videos, it's keep in a infinite loop. And I can't access some sites, such as Google, Youtube Facebook and Yahoo, on my iPad, it just won't load.
I just don't know what to do, I'm not really a crack when it comes to router, I don't know jack about my router to be honest, I know how to set the Wi-Fi, forward ports but that's basically all. It seems that it is a firewall problem, but I don't even know how my firewall settings works! UDP and TCP are set on Endpoint Independent but putting them into default doesn't do much, well it does nothing.
it is starting to get ridiculous, the DIR-655 is full of problems! My connections was always jumping, IP Conflict but now it's fixed, Flash videos wasn't able to run outside Youtube
TiVo and Pioneer offer remote control software for iOS and Android equipment. I've been using both for a while, and it's great stuff. When hardwired to the router. Behind the DAP-1522, not so much. The DAP works like a champ in every respect except in this application. Everything attached to it can hit the internet- the TiVo, the Samsung smart TV, my laptop via 1000baseT, and to anything else networked in the house. Presently the iPad can control the Tivo, but not the Pioneer. But Airplay on the iPad connects to the Pioneer with no problem. And then the iPad remote can control the Pioneer again.Another example is that the iPad can't find the TiVo, but my Android phone can. Usually.
Region : UnitedStates Model : TL-MR3220 Hardware Version : V1 Firmware Version : 3,14.2 build 120822 rel.40902n ISP : Sprint
Been working on this for about a week now, still no success. I confirmed I am using the latest update version/build.Trying to connect to my Ipad. TPLink Software says Identified, but only goes toward "Connecting" and never connects. All the ISP/Subnet numbers are "0". Set to 3g/4g only setting. Tried with security password and with security disabled.Customer support asked me to call Sprint to confirm dial number is #777 and that is confirmed. Sprint also confirmed APN is not needed to connect to a wireless router using a USB modem (this is a U600, which is on the TPLink compatable list). There is some internet posting that says the APN for Sprint is internet.com but I tried this too, and it still wont connect.

I m using TD-W8951ND wifi router with MTNL connection. The LAN connection with PC works just fine but i m not able to connect my iphone or ipad with the router. I have reset the router many times and also retored my iphone but still no luck. Pl tell me what are the settings needed for wifi connections.. Currently i have set the wireless mode to 802.11 b+g+n. Setting it to just 802.11 b sometimes connects with the iphone but never with ipad.

How do you assign each customer to a vlan ? and what kit do you use at the core to roll out VLANS to each pop? We are thinking of using Juniper kit - putting customers on there own VLAN, and having a managed service like TR-069 on those VLANS.Is it do-able and what does everyone use for a TR-069 server - I've been looking on the net and havent had much joy in finding a server - or is it not as easy as I understand it to be.
I have a 2003 server that is doing something wrong. When I show the mac address table I can see that the server is assigning a bad mac address to several IPS. The server assign a non-existent mac address to some IPS for this reason the server stobut I would like to solve the problem
I am working to find a new printer on a network. The new printer has the exact same name as another printer in the network? How do I assign a PC to default to the correct printer. It is a very active office so the trial an error thing sometimes takes a long time and also is frustrating because every time I install a new PC to the network (which is often) I run into the same problem over and over again. So how to I get the IP Address of the networked printer? How do I use the IP Address when assigning a new computer?
I had no trouble getting connected to the internet a couple of months ago. Then the signal got weak. I have a better antenna now and the network shows 5 bars but I cannot connect. It is an open, unencrypted connection. Wi-Fi Inspector gives this info[CODE]
I was using an IP address at one of client side and i got an IP address conflicted error and i changed the ip, Hence when i am searching that where does it consume on other systems i don't get the location & i need to use the conflicted one IP address so how can i know that which system does it using, i manually checked all systems i did not get, the ip address is gets ping but unable to get its location.
I know DHCP can assign more than just address, mask, and gateway. It can also assign a hostname, and DNS. Does anybody know if it can also be used to assign an SNMP address?
My system is in LAN. IP is assigned by DHCP. Now i want to assign a STATIC IP to my system. There is no direct connection from vendor router to my PC. My network path is like this. From ISP vendor to Switch->Firewall-> LAN switch. how can i configure Static IP in my PC..
