DCM202 One Device Connects To Internet / No Others Can

Modem: D-Link DCM202
Router: D-Link DIR-655
Scenario: An alternative router was temporarily swapped into my network. After reconnecting the old equipment only network device is able to connect to the internet. My computer, the only device with access to the internet, seems to automatically resolve a Comcast IP, but all other devices obtain an address in the 192 range. Setting the IP address statically to the 192 range kills connectivity. The router continuously tries to obtain the IP information from the modem, but never does.

How do I fix the problem". Domain not set.invalid may not be the problem. had a power surge at my house and it took down my internet. I had to reset my router back to factory settings and I finally got the router to work with my PC. But I cannot access the internet from my iPad 2 or my Android phone. Both devices see the network and can hook up to the network but the internet is not working on either device.

I have broadband with a d link dir 601 router hooked to it.it's about 2 years old. My sons computer is straight hooked to the internet while I use the wireless in another room.I have no problems with it until about a month ago, my daughter comes over with her laptop and uses the signal, then all of a sudden it takes pages etc on my laptop forever to load. I have windows xp on mine, she has 2 laptops she switches from, 1 with xp,1 with 7.

Currently, I have a Cisco 4948 in office that connects to a remote site via BGP. From what I am seeing, when connecting a new device to this switchport (we connect devices to this switch for a multicast VLAN that is set up), the BGP link fails after roughly 20-30 seconds. The switchport is not tagged with a VLAN, or any other config. Just a plain old port. This outage continues until the port is added to the mutlicast VLAN.

Its actually owned by the charity that i volunteer for and is connected to their private network and the internet ,When the user logs on in the morning, the laptop will not connect to the internet, it will also not connect to the shared network drive, so i can assume theres a local connection issue too,the user has to restart the laptop several times before the laptop will connect.

I recently got a computer, and it's all running fine, except for the internet.My internet connects through wireless to a box, I have no idea what you call it. Router?The house has three active laptops, all of which are working perfectly fine. This new computer,however, is a desktop, and I am trying to connect to my house's internet through a USB stick device that transmits the signal (D-link, model DWA-110). I know for a fact that this device works for two reasons. Firstly, I've used it in another laptop, and more strangely, it works on this new computer sometimes too.After about half an hour of random methods to make a connection stick, it might connect. And it lasts until the computer goes to standby, or is turned off. This is just random stuff through the network and sharing centre part of the control panel.Nothing ever works twice, and I haven't been able to replicate it for about a week. It successfully connects, and the connection is real because I can access the internet momentarily. But it always just disconnects again. I've tried it in every USB port, too.The signal strength is excellent, and when it connects it works great. It just almost always fails to.

So the best way to explain this is if im on the internet i wont really notice it because it happens so fast and im on the page. also its wireless internet.If i play for example league of legends il be fine then il be reconnecting then im back but the reason im reconnecting is because my connection dropped for a second.IF i open say an online game and i open a stream watching someone. Either the stream will turn off or the game will disconnect or ill get kicked from both.Ive gone into command prompt and done ping google.com and stuff sometimes its perfect then i do it again it misses 2 with time out then i do again its perfect then again time out again time out then perfect its really annoying.I recently started playing a new game and il be running then disconnect from the servers because my connection dropped for a second and ive rang bt and stuff have 2 new hubs. switch phone lines replaced filters still dont know whats going on.

I have a wireless router with my sky broadband account.My computer crashed and when I repaired it without losing files etc, it wiped the system clean.I had to go from Vista to XP as the pc never had a recovery disc with it.I have also recently upgraded to Windows 7 extreme, however the problem remains the same in that, the pc will not detect the wireless router. However, my dads laptop which I am using now, DOES connect to the internet.I have spoken with Sky support and after going through all the usual checks and tests, they have decided it is a pc fault.

I have an old XP laptop which is now used for my wife on her embroidery machine and have tried to integrate it into the home wifi. The other three PC's/laptops all have win7. Is the XP not compatible? It sees and connects to the wifi with full strength, but I cannot access internet at all.

Recently my laptop has had problems connecting to any wireless routers.
Now and then it will connect but not for very long - 10-15 mins max, then connection will be lost even though the signal strength is strong. It sometimes connects after it has been asleep for a while or when it's been turned off.

My flatmates and I recently got Sky broadband - their laptops connect just fine to the internet and they are able to use it without any problems. Mine also connects, but I can't do things like browse or use Skype, etc.When I go into Google Chrome, I'm told there is a DNS error that was unable to be resolved. Mozilla tells me that I have a problem with my server, and IE doesn't work either. Also, I am receiving very few packets. For every 2,000 or so packets that are sent, I only receive 2 or 6. When I click 'repair' I am told that my IP address cannot be renewed. The thing is, the internet works on my netbook at my mother's house, yet it doesn't work in my flat or other places like wifi spots.
I've tried so many things, such as clearing the DNS cache, releasing and renewing IP address, I've set the properties of the wireless connection to obtain DNS and IP automatically, I've tried pinging, I've turned off all my firewalls, I tried system restore, I've fiddled with certain keys in the registry, I even rebooted my entire hard disk last night and it still doesn't work! I'm really at my wit's end with this and I don't know what else to do. The problem is way beyond my comprehension now.

My housemate just got a second hand laptop which i restored to factory settings for him. the computer is running windows vista and everything is working fine, however the computer will connect to the wireless network but wont get any internet. the network itself is fine as we already have 3 computers connected to the internet with no problems.

i have a vista laptop and has connected to my old home network no problem i have now connected it to my new home router and connects to it fine but cannot get internet through it? other pcs can fine. i have looked over settings best i can and dont see why it should be able to recieve internet. it sends and recieves data to the router. and others get internet from it?

About a week ago my laptop stopped connecting to the internet for no apparent reason as it had connected just fine the night before. It's a Toshiba and the wireless router I use is a belkin. Every other wireless device from my brother's laptop to my Ipod can connect to the internet just fine. Even the PC connected to the router via ethernet cable can get online. I've tried unplugging the modem, resetting my IP address, directly connecting with an ethernet cable to the router, and resetting my router. My internet browser, IE, used to freeze up but I had a friend look at and he only managed to have it unfreeze[CODE]

I'm at my wits end. We had broadband from Plusnet (uk) put in at xmas. I've had a problem with my laptop connecting wirelessly so I've run a cable from the router up to my room. All's well and I can connect to servers and play online all day to my hearts content. It all goes pairshaped though when someone connects to the internet wirelessly. As soon as the internet is accessed the network just goes. I've spoken to plusnet to see what they can see and as far as they're concerned there's no problem coming into the house. We're getting up to 12mbps which is pretty nice and as I mentioned there's no problem unless someone connects wirelessly. I've changed the channel on the router as there might be interference from a neighbours router. I thought this might have fixed the problem but it's not.

The wireless internet keeps cutting out but only on my laptop,it cuts out and then connect again.I have downloaded drivers for my dell laptop but it hasn't solved the problem.I'm no whizkid at laptops and only got this laptop a few months ago, it's so annoying.I wish I had brought it back straight away.

We just got a brand new modem from comcast and my dis and my sisters laptop can connect to the internet. My sisters laptop say radio type "weird letter number combo) when laying on top of our modems name. But my mothers laptop says no broad cast. And thats the lap top that wont connect. That laptop connects to the modem not the internet.

I was installing a software on my other laptop (it had SQL software with it) and I ran into some trouble as I got error problems that the installation of the software had failed and now whatever I do, I can't access the web! Sure enough, my wireless connection connects successfully and it indicates that I am on the "Internet" but every time I try to use either firefox or internet explorer to go to a web site, it says I don't have a connection. My older Inspiron XP laptop will not connect to internet but connects to router. Local business tech said it was probably the hard drive & wanted to install new hard drive ($260). I feel perhaps I need to update driver for wireless modem, etc. But since I cannot connect to internet, I have no way of updating (I'm using my newer Windows 7 laptop currently which does connect thru the router). Can I download a driver onto a flash drive & install that way? Also, is there a way I can test the XP computer by connecting directly to the router with a cable & if so what kind of cable do I use to check if it will connect? I'm trying to research any possibility of fixing this XP computer because it's too expensive to fix hard drive. Also, everything else works on XP laptop, except Norton which needs to update & cannot without connection.

I am in Italy for the summer and brought a usb wireless antenna and have a good neighbor who has given me the password to his adsl router. I have a pc with xp pro and after installing the drivers, I get a very good signal and I get an IP and gateway address, windows shows i am connect but internet will not hook up. I have tried installand reinstalling the software, disable firewall and anti virus to no avail. worked on this for several days . Then I installed the software on my Asus ee net book that has xp home . It connected to internet right away.. I can work like this, but have all my software on the pc and would like to use it for the internet

This one gets connected to the wireless modum-router combo but not to internet. However with wired connection, it gets connected to internet as well.

My laptop is able to connect to the wireless router in my home, but the browser will never load a page, status is shown "connected". However, when I try on other laptops, they are able to surf the net. I have tried using my laptop at my friend's place with a different wireless router and it works at his place as I was able to surf the internet through my wireless! So, I've tried resetting my personal modem to factory default and it still doesn't work!

I have a compaq presario that will connect to my wireless network but when i open internet explorer or mozilla firefox the page will not load and says that the server cannot be found. i don't think the router is the problem since i have a separate computer that connects just fine wirelessly and a ps3 that connects to the internet just fine. the only way i have been able to access the internet with the compaq is plugging it into the modem with the ethernet cable but i want to connect wirelessly.

I bought the Netgear N300 WNR2000v2 today for my laptop (ACER Aspire 5552). Installation was fine but when in try to connect to the router i get a message "Windows was unable to connect to 'SSID Name'. However when i go into routerlogin.net and change the security options to 'None' i get connected to the internet no problem.

I have a windows 7 computer that was connected wirelessly to my router and internet worked fine. One day i woke up and the internet would not work. The computer is still connected to the router but no internet access.There are other computers on the network that connect fine.I have also tried connecting my computer directly to the modem and still no internet.Running windows diagnositc tells me there is no default gateway available. Ive cycled the modem and router probably a million times and even taking the pc to another house to try on a different router and still no go.

my vista machine connected to the internet. My PC, a Dell studio 540, worked perfectly well on the BT Homehub2 in our last house but now I have very infrequent access.The wireless adapter connects to the network but not to the internet. I get a 'Identifying public network' message with (no customise option). When I use LAN to connect 'unidentified network'.it will connect via wireless, but it seems random and then if the machine sleeps or is restarted it's back to square one.
