Dec 2, 2011I am Using DELL Laptop Inspiron N7110 with Windows 7OS.I can able to connect internet with WiFi or by LAN. Only if i connect with USB 3G Data Card it fails to Connect internet. Highlight in this issue is, I can able to update windows update and Antivirus update. if i open any site in browser it fails to open. Initially i contacted MacFee Security Center regarding this issue hoping that belongs to firewall. They suggested me to uninstall completely and try again. I did the same but even it fails. In Google Chrome it partially connects with poor GUI .But in IE as well as in Firefox nothing came out.

Feb 17, 2012I am trying to get my mom's n7110 working correctly in a hurry. The WiFi is painfully slow. It is not the router because I am getting great speed on every other computer. The speed on the n7110 is very unreliable. One second it will be 3mbps or lower, then it will jump to 14mbps.....compared to my inspiron 1545 that gets close to 20mbps according to [URL].
I've tried updating some drivers yesterday, and that worked a little bit because it was WAY worse before that...it would take about a minute to load a picture.any tricks or updates i should look for now?

Jan 16, 2012i purchased a Dell N7110 from Dell last week, and a few days later I purchased a NETGEAR PTV2000 wireless display adapter. It was my understanding the N7110 would support the PTV2000; my N7110 specs are below.Originally, I downloaded the required software (Intel WIDI) and drivers from the Intel website.
The laptop and PTV2000 adapter seemed to start fine in that the security code was given on my TV screen and I was able to enter it in the Intel WIDI software. Next step was to select "connect" to the adapter. The connection was initialized, as the green light on the PTV2000 was flashing and my TV screen said "connecting", then "connected". At the moment it said "connected", my laptop screen immediately flashed black, then restored itself approx one second later with the graphics on the laptop screen larger (larger icons) than normal. Approximately one second after this occurred, the connection was lost and the Intel software stated the following error: "unable to send desktop to wireless display, try restarting the application. If the problem persists, try re-installing the Intel WIDI software".
I retried the software numerous times with same results. I uninstalled then re-installed the Intel WIDI software and drivers with the same results. I also uninstalled and re-installed the software, but got them from the Netgear website, and then later from the Dell website (all had Intel WIDI software to download), which all ended in the same results (original problem still exists).After countless tries of running Intel WIDI, the program would on rare occasions, lock up and become unresponsive, while the green light on the adapter was still flashing (connection being made) and the TV message said "connected". The screen never changed from "connect", the desktop image never appeared on the TV, and I would have to use task manager to shut the program down.
Netgear and Intel websites do not address this issue, other than saying "try uninstalling then reinstalling the software", which I did countless times. Web searches hint the real problem is in the Graphics drivers on the Dell - I did find a thread on this site (Dell site) complaining the PTV2000 would not play DVDs or Blueray, and the person changed the Graphics driver, but now cannot get Windows to boot - I believe the Dell techs are currently mailing him software to correct this problem. Because of this, I am very reluctant to change the Graphics drivers as I do not want to cause the same issue on my machine...I have not had any problems with the wifi side of things, in that I am always able to initialize a "connect" without issues, and it tries to connect but just never completely does... tell me if the original problem I stated above can be corrected, and the steps I need to take, or should I return the PTV2000 and forget the whole wireless display idea?
Side Note: I can provide the exact softeware and driver links I used if required, but didn't as there really wasn't much choice - The Intel site, Netgear site, and DELL site all provided short instructions and only one download option; Win 7 32 or Win 7 64. I used Win 7 64 option.

Nov 12, 2011The inbuilt wifi card on my 1521 laptop has lost it's range, I now have to be within a few feet of my BT hub or else the wifi signal keeps dropping out, have checked it not the hub by connecting another PC through wifi. I've taken various numbers from the original card but none of them matches up with the part No's on the Dell website, of the three numbers on the card I think the Dell P/No is DP-N OPC559.

When I click on the wireless network icon and ask it to diagnose the problem it says that 1) the network adapter has a driver or hardware problem (device manager says its working properly) and 2) to make sure that the Internet Protocol Bindings are proper and to make sure that Internet Protocol Version 4 and Internet Protocol Version 6 are selected (those two protocols are selected).

Nov 8, 2012I just updated my OS from Windows 7 to 8, and I bought a new Galaxy S 3. Nobody seems to be ready for Windows 8 functionality. I don't know how to find the bluetooth feature of my laptop anymore now that I have windows 8 installed. My phone scans for it, and can no longer find it.
I have connected my phone to the laptop, it installs the phone, but cannot find the photos and videos that I have on my phone, even thought there are tons of them.
I thought perhaps I could Bluetooth them to the laptop, but so far, it's been nothing but a frustrating morning trying to locate the bluetooth function, and Dell's website doesn't seem to understand that people actually upgrade their systems to Windows 8, so there's no support there as far as drivers go.

May 28, 2013I have an older windows xp computer, xps 400.
I had unplugged my computer due to painting the room. When i plugged back it I couldn not connect to internet. But oddlly enough my mcafee security center gave me a message that mcafee subscription expired, which it can't as I use it through my subscription through aol. Had this problem once before. So i uninstalled mcafee. I ran malwarebytes to see if there was anything that might prevent me for accessing internet, it found two adware that I quarentined.
I have tested my ethernet cord and connectivity on another computer it works fine.I had a realek RTL8139 Family PCI Ethernet NIC, i reloaded the driver after downloading from my other computer, now it say it is a realtek RTL 8139/810x family ethernet nic, not sure if I downloaded the wrong driver but before that I tried changing the speed to less than auto detect.
I have rebooted in safe mode in case there was a virus. I am at my wits end.Is there a way to factory reset the network adapter. What else can I do. light at the ethernet port looks to be yellow. Everything says it is working, I just can't connect.

Jun 16, 2012I have a dell Inspiron 1545, and I recently had to re-install windows Vista(SP2) onto it because of a Trojan that snuck its way onto my hard drive I only had the Installation disc for the OS, and I'd lost the driver re-install disk. I went onto the Dell website and found all the required drivers for my computer. (I used my exact service tag and express code), I downloaded all of the drivers and ran them, and everything seemed to be working fine. Shortly after re-installing all of the drivers, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet through my wireless connection. I've tried all the keyboard shortcuts to "turn on" my wireless connectivity, I've tried installing a whole number of recommended wireless card drivers, and to no avail. This is a serious problem to me, as I am very active on the internet. My Ethernet connection works fine, (that's how I'm online posting this right now), my wireless card troubles.

I have done two systems recoveries to earlier dates when we know it was working to no avail. I have 3 other computers on this network and none are experiencing any issues. I did just change from DSL to cable broadband, but the computer was fine until Monday night. Not sure what is going on. Does a system recovery will undo Windows updates? The most recent updates took place on 1/4/2012, which is about the time the problem showed up. I am going to uninstall those updates, 2 Security Update for Windows, and see what happens. Stand by. No good. It didn't work. I see a lot of people who are having the same problem here recently so something must have changed.

May 9, 2012Inspiron 1720 lost wireless connection after Service tech had me reboot Wireless router for other issue not relating to this computer. Now when I look for wireless connections can not find any. Hard wire works fine. Trouble shoot states there may be a problem with one or more of my network adapters. Not very computer savy....But did find a way to run a Ping test and pass. Clicked on my 1502 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini card and it states this device is working properly. Opened Broadcom control suite and it shows a Red X on the intergrated controller and the wireless card. with option to run a test or explanation of the Red X.
Do I need a new card or is there something else conflicting with it.. I find it hard to believe the card crashed right when I rebooted the Router...ISP sent a tech out but was not able to find problem.

Dell Poweredge 840 Server - Recover Lost RAID5 Configuration / Data
Jan 18, 2012I was upgrading the OS [c:] on a DELL Poweredge 840 server from Win2k3 server to Win2k8 R2 server using the Dell SMTD DVD to prep the install. This has always worked in the past without destroying the data partitions. (I have now found out this only works properly if the OS is on a RAID 1/0/10 and the data on a RAID 5)
In this case the OS & Data were both on RAID 5 & the Dell tool reformatted (quickly) or maybe reset the partition table so that it looks like one big drive. I noticed this once I got to the install screen for Windows 2008 R2 and shut down the system.
Are there any utilities that can be run from a bootable CD/DVD that can undo the format on the RAID 5 set or else let me browse & recover the data on the various partitions?

Aug 17, 2012Lost my internet connection to my Dell XPS 435t/9000 running Win7 (64) yesterday. Unable to restore. No know configuration changes other than the regular weekly window update. My service provider is Verizon FIOS and all there stuff checks out. My iMAC and Dell Laptop connect fine through the same devices (router/modem/switch).
The xps shows no hardware faults and all the wired connections are intact. Unable to ping router. Network Sharing interface shows good connections to switch and router by a bad connection between router and internet.
Ran WIN7 network troubleshooter and it just told me to contact ISP.Rebooted machine several times but no joy.
