I recently purchased a Dell XPS 14 Ultrabook and am at the stage where I want to connect to a Wifi Network to get internet. The Network comes up as full strength in the list, yet when I try to connect to it, I am simply told that the computer is taking longer than usual to connect to the network and the connection fails. The problem is not with the wireless router as it functions fine with other devices.

I made a test where I downloaded the Microsoft Office from the official site, from the Ultrabook XPS L321X it was downloaded with a rate speed of 60 KB/s and from my older laptop XPS MI1530 the speed was 1000 KB/s.
I have just purchased the Ultrabook XPS L321X and it is manufacture setting, however the internet speed is very slow.
I tried everything, but I did not find a possible issue why the speed is slower than my older computer.
I recently bought a new Dell XPS Ultrabook 13 with i7 processor. It worked fine for about three weeks, then all of a sudden it refuses to connect to the internet. I am still connected to my wifi network, but the network and sharing centre shows the connection as dropped between the hub and the internet. Troubleshooter offers no answers. I know other Windows7 users have experienced this and so I have ALREADY done the following:
Tried accessing the internet in safe mode with networking. This works, so it is not a hardware issue. I can definitely access this web in this way.Rebooting my wireless router etc. I know this is not the issue though, as other devices such as my iPhone can still access the web through it (and the XPS, in safe mode)
Possible spy/mal ware. I think this is unlikely. A) the laptop is new b) I am extremely careful on what I download c) I have run repeated full system scans with both my preloaded AV software (McAfee) andMalwarebytes anti-malware. Neither has unearthed anything at all. Not a single item, and they both are checking against the latest databases.
I ran msconfig and deselected all startup programs and services except MS ones. I also downloaded and did similar through ccleaner. No joy.I checked devices through device manager. All devices seem to be working normally. No conflicts. I disabled and enabled the network wifi miniport adaptors. Again, nothing.The most frustrating thing is that I haven’t actually made any system or setting changes recently, so I don’t understand how this could suddenly have just happened. My only suggestion is that I downloaded the usual round of MS updates the other day.

I have even removed all security and have it set as an "Open" network to see if this will resolve and still the Dell is unable to connect. If I click on connect, it attempts to then I get the Troubleshooter message. This PC is running Win 7. Let me know what further information is needed.

It detects my network but when I enter my key and try to connect it says it's unable to connect. I have picked through a few other forums and saw that I should check my Device Manager. Now I did, but I have no idea what I gained with knowing that my Network Adapters are:
-Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card
-Intel(R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection
And I'm sure my "radio button" is on, because I can connect to other wireless networks right now, just not mine.
My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established
the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)

Per a separate thread, I went to the command prompt to try to run the ipconfig all but it comes up as user/owner and I don't know how to get to admin mode. Also, the proxy option is unchecked.

I have been using the wireless internet connection via my BT broadband package for months, everything OK, then suddenly the laptop can no longer connect to the internet.
All the diagnostic tools say everything is OK but the broadband modem is having problems. The other laptops on the home WiFi network can all access the internet fine, so the BT broadband IS working, so it must be the DELL Laptop, right?
The laptop keeps telling me to reset the modem, which I have done, but to no avail...it is still working with theother laptops, so this can't be the problem.

It has Windows 8 preloaded, I am not able to connect to my WiFi network, while I am able to connect using my other devices.
The WiFi network in getting detected and the signal strength is full as well, when I give the password and click connect, it tries to verify and connect for a long time, finally say "Can't connect to this network".
I have a Dell Vostro 3300 laptop with Windows 7 and ran a Kaspersky Virus Scan which deleted virus' and trojan programs but now my computer says there are 'no connections available'....my WiFi is definitely working as I am able to connect on my phone and other laptop.I have checked my network adapters on Device Manager and they have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, including 'DW1501 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini Card'. I have checked whether the drivers are up to date and it says they are.

All other devices in my house are getting a perfect signal from the network but my computer either can't find it, or only has 1 green bar and says it cannot connect. I've tried a system restore, I've tried to troubleshoot on my computer and can't figure it out. The weird thing is it is picking up other wireless signals fine (like my neighbors, ect) but just not my home one. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given a dell latitude cpx laptop running windows xp recently with wireless b network adapter. My modem/router is a 2wire gateway DSL . When I brought the laptop home, it did not connect to my wireless network. It was able to find my ssid though, and the signal was weak even if I was close to the modem/router. Anway, someone suggested I switch from WPA to WEP encryption because old network adapters can only detect wep encryption ( or something like that) . So I did, and still no internet connection. i tried to ping yahoo.com and still not working. My DNS and Ip adress are set to automatic and still no internet. This laptop doesn't have an LAN port, so i guess it connects through internet wirelessly only. Someone also suggested i update my drivers for wireless adapter but i don't have the original disc that came along with it. This laptop was able to connect without problem before from a different network but not mine like a week ago.. I also have2 other laptops within this network and I never had a problem with it connecting wirelessly.

That neighbor has left the area so I went and got my own modem and wireless router. I have a Netgear WNDR3400 wireless router and a zoom 5341G modem. I set up the cable connection and everything is working fine with my roommate's new Dell XPS laptop. I am having problems even detecting my main connection (Home 1) using my desktop computer and the dell wireless 1450 adaptor. My dell adapter does not locate the network I created, but it can find the 5g and the "(Home 1 guest)" networks that I create, however it can not connect to them. I made sure I was typing in the correct passwords, but it still can not seem to connect.

I am aware of the PSP issue and have turned off the option to allow the computer to turn off the adapter and have set the power settings to the highest settings for both battery and plugged in. I have messed the routers security and the computer will not connect unless I turn off the security entirely. It connects but is slow. Anything else and it will not connect at all. Regardless, it can always detect the network without a problem and shows signal strength of Excellent (full bars) even when it is running slow. It works great on a cable or with a wireless usb adapter. I am positive that I am entering the password correctly as i have done this many times now. All other wireless devices in the house connect without a problem including her old Dell laptop.I have updated all the drivers (including the adapter) and keep current on all the Windows updates.when I run the ipconfig /all it lists all my wireless adapters and the blue tooth as "media disconnected". Not sure if that is referring to not being connected to the network or something else.
I've got an old Dell Latitude D600, service tag <Admin Note: removed per privacy policy~RK>, that I am messing around with and i can not get it to connect to my wireless network. i have the correct driver for my wireless adapter and it shows my network in range with full strength. when i try to connect it says the network may no longer be in range and i should refresh. when refresh it is still there with good strength. when i look my wireless adapter it says it is on but as soon as it brings up the network name everything says "radio off"
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my dell inspiron e1505 since 2007. It has worked fine (minus having the motherboard replaced and having to reinstall my OS multiple times in the past). At the beginning of December, I moved to a new apartment and got Verizon internet. I have no problem connecting to the network, it says excellent strength. But my internet doesn't work. On the 'manage internet connections' page, there is a red X from network to internet. I've even tried connecting with the ethernet cable and it still won't work!! Right now, I'm on my boyfriends HP laptop, connected to the same network and able to connect to the internet just fine.

When i go in to view the options it gives for Wireless Mode it says B/G or just B or G. Now up top it does say 802.11N Mode and has the option for Enable and Disable and its Enabled. I can see my routernetwork and the signal strength is good, but when I try to connect it says that it cannot connect. When I press connect diagnose problem it quickly opens a small window stating that windows could not connect to "Kat-wifi" (my network. I have tried rebooting the computer as well as rebooting the router by uplugging and waiting the 30 sec to 1 min and then retrying but to no avail. When I connect the computer to an ethernet cable I AM able to connect to the interent. I even atempted to manually run a test with the wireless and it passed everything except the PING test. it stated NO RESPONSE DHCP SERVER. I tried then to go to the screen of Wireless Network Conenction Properties and checked the IP Version 4 (TCP/IPv4 and both the obtain IP address and Obtain DNS server automatically are already on.

I am currently using a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 and I am having issues connecting with my wireless router. It is a Netgear WNR1000 v2. I live in an apartment with two other guys and both of them are able to connect to the router perfectly, and one of them has the exact same computer as I do. We have other wireless networks around our apartment that aren't secure and I can connect to them but I can't connect to the secure router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded the installation data "R147095 Dell Wireless Printer Adaptor 3300 Installation Set-UP.exe". Saved that to a new CD and loaded it to my PC. I get through most of the setup wizard but always fail at the same point - The adapter will not connect to the network. All the usual checks are positive and the network key is correct and in the appropriate case. I have run Driver Detective and that confirms that the drivers for the adapter are up to date. The printer is not yet installed on the PC and the software for it has not been loaded.
I have tried this procedure again on a second PC where the printer had been used as a wired slave printer but have uninstalled the printer first. Same result - Adapter fails to connect to the network.
Router is a Billion Bipac 7800 n. I can get other "newer" devices to connect without problems but this "old" adaptor is proving stubborn.
