Dell :: D1450U Router And Modem / Can't Connect To My Network
Jul 22, 2012
I am new to setting up wireless router connections. I used to get internet from my neighbor using my Dell wireless 1450 adaptor Model D1450U. That neighbor has left the area so I went and got my own modem and wireless router. I have a Netgear WNDR3400 wireless router and a zoom 5341G modem. I set up the cable connection and everything is working fine with my roommate's new Dell XPS laptop. I am having problems even detecting my main connection (Home 1) using my desktop computer and the dell wireless 1450 adaptor. My dell adapter does not locate the network I created, but it can find the 5g and the "(Home 1 guest)" networks that I create, however it can not connect to them. I made sure I was typing in the correct passwords, but it still can not seem to connect.
I cannot connect my Dell Inspiron 1300 through the NetworkManager "wired" connection, when I try to go direct to the cable modem. It fails to connect. If I connect the cable modem to my (linksys WRT54GS) wireless router, and then connect my laptop to a wired port in the router, it connects in seconds, successfully, This has happened to me 2 other times, when I tried to connect my laptop to a client's cable modem, because my client did not have a wireless router available, in their home. My wireless works fine. This has me perplexed. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and NetworkManager Applet 0.8, I've tried some things to see what is going on, such as "ifconfig" "dhclient" as well as modifying the "Auto eth0" parameters and adding my laptop's MAC address, etc.
I have a Netgear DGN3500 wireless modem router that I'm trying to setup on my Dell desktop "Dimension C521". I get the error message "Ethernet adaptor required". I'm not sure why I am encountering the error message, as I have successfully installed a modem previously on the desktop via a ethernet cable.
I recently install Windows8 Enterprise build 9200 on my Dell XPS L502X and everything is working fine so far except my modem. In device manager its installed properly but the network manager doesn't list it as an option to connect to (as it usually would in win7),
I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 usb dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port. I get a connection at 40% and 100 bytes are sent and some are received but the connection drops. Is it a problem with the connection? I will upload a image.
I have a Dell Dimension 5000 and I want to transfer the computer to connect via wireless. I have bought a wireless dongle installed all the sot wear but my computer will still not connect to the modem in my house. Is this particular model able to connect via wireless. Or do I need to install more software.
I have a dell inspiron 1464 and have a wifi modem. while connecting it only shows a broadband(home network) bt doesnt connect with a red cross sign over it. i tried adding a new network bt it still wont connect
I tried to connect inet with a DSL "Speed Modem 200" (no WLAN!, no router), RAS failure 651.
OS WIN7 Enterprise, SP 1, 64-Bit
It seems to be a driver problem of the LAN adapter, because under XP SP3 on the old PC ervery thing is fine. The driver test told me "newest version" what's to do?
My Motorola SBG901 Modem/Router combo has stopped connecting to the internet. I have done all the troubleshooting with Comcast and with Motorola and it is out of warranty, so I will have to purchase a new one.In the mean time, I wanted to use it only as a wireless router connected to my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 modem. Is there anyway to do this? Is there a way to disable the modem in the SBG901? Simply connecting with the ethernet cords has not worked. I connected the DPC2100 to the SBG901 via ethernet cord. My computer was able to pick up a wireless connection but there is no cable connection.
My laptop has Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 internet card but the computer can not connect to the modem properly, the speed is always not the speed that I purchased
I have a cable modem installed to my property but want to use my modem/router to go wireless. The proble is my cable modem output is a RJ45 and the router input is RJ11.
Recently i switch from a Centrylink Actiontech Q1000 dsl modem to a Actiontech C1000a. Now I can know longer connect to my home network. My desktop computer is windows xp sp2, wired to the modem. My laptop is windows7 wireless.I have no problems connecting to the internet from either computer, just can not access either computer on the home network or print from the laptop. I used the same settings from the Q1000 modem in the c1000a.
how to connect a adsl modem to a computer network using a switch with a server.I have a network with a server and about ten clients computers all connected through a switch, the server has an IP 192.168.1.1 as its gateway. I want to connect adsl modem to the switch so that all the computers can have access to the net, but the adsl too has 192.168.1.1 as its IP.
I have Zyxel Modem configured in bridged mode with static IP from ISP. I want to connect multiple PCs to modem via switch so that each PC use the same configured Public IP address to use the internet. For this (generally) I would need to configure NAT for that IP. But I want to know that will it work under bridged mode or not?
Ok I have a toshiba satellite with the above stated modem in place, however I am not sure if the modem is wireless capable. I have been trying to figure out how to connect it to my network.
Have one switch and network.PC number one have win98 and network adapter and connected to the switch.PC number two have winXP and network adapter and connected to the switch same as win98.Network works on win98 and winxp they see each other.internet working on winxp but dont work on win98
1. Green Packet DX-230 WiMAX modem with router 2. D-Link DIR-615 ver G2 (from my ISP) 3. D-Link 8 port desktop switch
I previously used the DIR-615 with my high speed broadband connection. However I had to move to a new house and here I can only get WiMAX. I want to...Place the WiMAX modem upstairs to serve as modem and wireless access point Have the DIR-615 function as the main router and firewall (downstairs) Use the switch to connect all the rooms in my house FYI my WiMAX modem has no connection configurations. I just plug it in and it'll connect automatically to the WiMAX signal. It has 2 LAN ports but no WAN port. From my understanding of networking, I have to turn off DHCP on my WiMAX modem, put it in the same IP range as my DIR-615 (192.168.0.100-199), and disable UPNP and NATPMP. After this I'm stuck. How do I tell my DIR-615 to use the WiMAX modem as it's WAN connection?Should I reserve an IP for the modem in my DIR-615?
This started this a.m. Every other computer can connect issue free. I have even removed all security and have it set as an "Open" network to see if this will resolve and still the Dell is unable to connect. If I click on connect, it attempts to then I get the Troubleshooter message. This PC is running Win 7. Let me know what further information is needed.
I have a Dell MFP1815dn that I use with a usb cable connection to my Dell Laptop (windowsxp) works great. I would like to eliminate the usb and connect the MFP to my Verizon FIOS router. Why does it not work in that config. How do I address the MFP to talk to my router?
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 14 Ultrabook and am at the stage where I want to connect to a Wifi Network to get internet. The Network comes up as full strength in the list, yet when I try to connect to it, I am simply told that the computer is taking longer than usual to connect to the network and the connection fails. The problem is not with the wireless router as it functions fine with other devices.
I have a Dell Inpsiron with Windows XP. It will connect to many wireless networks, just not to mine, which of course is my kind of luck. It detects my network but when I enter my key and try to connect it says it's unable to connect. I have picked through a few other forums and saw that I should check my Device Manager. Now I did, but I have no idea what I gained with knowing that my Network Adapters are:
-Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card
-Intel(R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection
And I'm sure my "radio button" is on, because I can connect to other wireless networks right now, just not mine.
My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established
the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)
I have recently had a Dell Inspiron 1501 come in to my possession and the Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Ethernet will not connect to a tested work wired network. It acts like is you disable a network adapter in windows 7 on a laptop the device is disabled but it is.I have uninstall and reinstalled the Operating System and Drivers several times and these is no change. The Operating System in Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and there should by no compatibly issues as they are pretty well the same system. The Intergated Broadcom PXE Boot Will not connect to a LAN network either but when I run Dell's Broadcom Diagnostic everything runs fine when operating?
My wife has a little Dell Mini running Windows 7 Starter. It connects to the network but gets a message that it cannot connect to the internet. Other laptops on the network CAN connect. This issue is new, the laptop has been fine up until a few days ago.
Per a separate thread, I went to the command prompt to try to run the ipconfig all but it comes up as user/owner and I don't know how to get to admin mode. Also, the proxy option is unchecked.

I am having issues connecting my 1320c directly to the network. It is currently hooked directly to my netgear WNDR4000 router through a ethernet cable, but I am unable to see the printer on my devices list on the router. The printer connects fine and prints when hooked directly to my computer through USB,what needs to be done to be able to see my printer and be able to print with it on the network?
I can't connect to the wireless network at my university.I have 2 network adapters: Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card, Marvell Yukon 88E80 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller. BTW I already turned the wireless switch on, but windows xp still says: "No wireless networks were found in range'.
I have a 7 month old Dell XPS 17 which has a Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 (2x2 b/g/n+ Bluetooth Combo Card). I have been using the wireless internet connection via my BT broadband package for months, everything OK, then suddenly the laptop can no longer connect to the internet.
All the diagnostic tools say everything is OK but the broadband modem is having problems. The other laptops on the home WiFi network can all access the internet fine, so the BT broadband IS working, so it must be the DELL Laptop, right?
The laptop keeps telling me to reset the modem, which I have done, but to no avail...it is still working with theother laptops, so this can't be the problem.
bought a new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop online and received it today.
It has Windows 8 preloaded, I am not able to connect to my WiFi network, while I am able to connect using my other devices.
The WiFi network in getting detected and the signal strength is full as well, when I give the password and click connect, it tries to verify and connect for a long time, finally say "Can't connect to this network".
I have a Dell Vostro 3300 laptop with Windows 7 and ran a Kaspersky Virus Scan which deleted virus' and trojan programs but now my computer says there are 'no connections available'....my WiFi is definitely working as I am able to connect on my phone and other laptop.I have checked my network adapters on Device Manager and they have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, including 'DW1501 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini Card'. I have checked whether the drivers are up to date and it says they are.
