View 1 RepliesI have noticed that the Share port software is available for Windows 7 which I do use on my Windows 7 computer.
If I get a Windows 8 computer, does the same software also work on Windows 8 ? ? ?
I am using DIR-825 with share port Version 1.17 under Win 7 with Out post Pro Firewall V 7.1. Although I give {URL}, all rights to access the LAN and WAN it is not possible to get a connection to the router. Only shutting down the firewall entirely works to get access. (This cannot be the solution ). Is there any other file or service for which the firewall needs to be configured? I tried to open different ports for TCP and UDP as well - without any success.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeems pretty obvious to me that D-link is using linux in rev B1 hardware. Its not big secret thou if i have read right from url...why D-link is sticking with this shareport-utility. Even the B1 hardware has common usb-port for sure, which can be controlled by linux and therefore there would be more simple way to get things like printer working with it over network. Also ssh-server support would not be too big investment. right? And why im not so fully changing to openwrt or dd-wrt is that the patches are not in stable tree yet and i think that i can be pretty happy with the current web-ui of dlink and dont have much of time to setup my router for openwrt.

Just want to ask if 4-port serial HWIC-4T is compatible for the Cisco 2801?We need additional HWIC for Fast Ethernet but the problem is we don't have already slot for it.We already have two HWIC-2T 2-port serial which is inserted at slot 1 and slot 3. We're planning to buy 4-port HWIC-4T so we can use the slot 3 for HWIC Fast Ethernet.if it's possible to have the 4-port serial HWIC-4T be inserted to Cisco 2801.

I get a "No compatible hardware found" error when I try to load the drivers for the wireless card on my laptop.
I had to reload windows 7, ultimate x64 on my laptop. I've been able to install all of the drivers with the exception of the wireless card.
I've tried to load the R258276 driver for the broadcom chip as specified in my download with the Dell driver utility and dell system detect. This worked previously with the same os. I've also installed and ran Dell Support Center, PC check and System Detect.
My order lists the following wireless card:
WHDPC 1 Card, Wireless, Half Mini-Card, DW1501, 4313
I have an unknown device and a Network Controller flagged in "Other devices" in Windows Device Manager. I've deleted these and reran hardware detect and they both show of again as not having drivers installed. Windows update nor windows driver update locates valid drivers. I searched the forums and found a few links to other sources of he R258276 drivers, but got the same error msg.

does any one know if the new sierra 320u 4g bigpond modem will work with the tl-mr3040 battery wifi router, and does it handle the 100mbs speed, also how relyable are these routers, and what is its range.
i have 2 dell computers (and more but just worried about these two for now)... mainpc and sparepc, i had sparepc hooked to my tv and all pc's in the house, and a tv, networked to it... it all worked great, after a few minutes of setting it up... and then the hard drive crashed on spare pc and i got a new one, installed windows again both pc's use the same installation disk both pc's are hooked to a workswitch, which is hooked to a uverse gateway (router)... but it should be noted that hooking everything to wireless changes nothing... i get the same results can reach out to anything in the house and network great... but nothing can connect to sparepc... it keeps asking for username/password, even tho none is set I've gone through all the file sharing, homegroup, and folder options... ive reset ownership on folders and permissions... ive tried making/changing user profiles... but i cannot get from mainpc to sparepc home group does not work because the network does not work. as soon as the network works, homegroup will spring to life (at least, thats what happened the last time) if i right click on a folder, go to properties, share tab, and hit the share button... it asks for permissions for users... i set them, hit share, and it comes up and says, "you cant share this folder" ... with no explanation

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a spare WAG160N lying around which I want to test to see if I can get a better range with it than my current router. My internet is connected via a cable modem which I connect to the ethernet port 1 on the WAG160N - which in my experience with other wireless routers - will work and broadcasts internet through wifi. However I can't seem to get it to work. After doing a bit of searching I found that some people say this isn't possible on the WAG160N while others say it's possible if I switch the port 1 to "Use as WAN port" in the ethernet setting tab page (Tried it, still doesn't work). I can obviously connect to the router setting page but no internet is flowing through (And the internet LED does not light up)
What settings do I need to use to make this work or is it indeed impossible? It's in bridge mode only at the moment with other settings untouched from factory defaults. One person says it's possible but I can only get it to work with 1 device because it's assigning the public IP on the cable modem onto the one device - but I couldn't get this to work either.
I've been trying to configure my router which is linksys E1000 to forward port to my sharepoint server. Here is what I have done so far, setup single portforward to i.e 192.168.xx.xx using port 4848.Now my question is, do I need to configure sharepoint to receive this incoming connection. I do need to have my sharepoint be accessed anywhere on the web.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI moved to a new apartment and have to wait a month or even more to get my DSL internet, so I temporarily got myself a USB 3G device to have some access to the internet till I get my DSL line.
The USB acts as 3G modem for a single PC that's connected to it, what I want is to share that internet using my D-Link DIR-655 router so I'd be able to connect my iPhone and PS3 as well.
How to get that setup working as smoothly as possible would be great. DIR-655's default gateway is 192.168.0.1, and the auto DHCP range IIRC is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.
