View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased an XPS-17 Laptop from Dell, which was delivered last week. This system includes the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 wireless network card. I also purchased the Netgear Push2TV HDTV wireless adapter on the advice of the Dell customer representative. The representative assured me that the two functions were compatible, and that all I needed to do was to have the network card search for new networks. Unfortunately the network card does not "see" the Netgear module, only the wireless LAN operating in my home. The Netgear Push2TV is connected to the TV via HDMI, and the TV displays the Push2TV setup screen indicating that it is waiting for a connection from a network card.
I have spoken with Dell Tech Support with no success. First of all the Tech Support representative had no knowledge of the wireless TV display capability, let alone the Netgear Push2TV device, thus did not know how to diagnose the situation, neither did her supervisor. I authorized remote access into the computer and they tried all they knew how to do with no success. Finally, after 2 hours, I was told that Dell was aware of an incompatibility issue between the two devices, and that I should just wait until it was resolved by Dell and/or Netgear in "one or two days". After hanging up, I realized that I had not been given a Case Number, thus had no record of the call.I have been checking the Drivers/Downloads site daily, but find no new releases that are not already installed on the computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe only difference I can see is the 3700 has gigabit ports. Any other performance differences about with these two routers? I already have the 3400 but I am wondering if I chose the wrong router seeing as the 3700 is only ten bucks more. What there experiences were or there knowledge of these two products or even opinions. I have a gaming PC hard wired, ps3 wireless, nexus 7 wireless, and LG Media Player wireless in a 1400 square foot house with one wall between ps3 and 2 walls between media player. I doubt range will be an issue with either routers though. I might transfer files between PC's later on but 10/100 should still be pretty good speed or not so much?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI´ve recently purchased a Netgear r6300 and a wifi ac bridge (Linksys wumc710) When hooking up my Readynas Pro to the r6300 via the wumc710 I only get transfer rates at max 8MB/s. That´s not very impressive, and even with the bridge located within 10 feet of the router, no walls in between. What am I doing wrong? I´ve set the MTU on the Readynas and the r6300 to 1500.When doing a wired test between the r6300 and the Readynas Pro I can copy a file from the Nas to desktop at approx 80-100MB/s, but with wireless ac via the wumc710 only at 4-8MB/s.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI work as Network administrator in a building products plant at Poland. We had core switch HP Procurve 6200yl with 5 vlans, and 11 Aironet 1240AG Access points without controller. I have a problem with create 2 wi-fi VLANs on the Cisco AP's and linked it with HP switch.
VLANs on the switch:
1 - Default (for office sutff) - working great,
2 - Production (for production stuff) - working great,
3 - Inter (for Router's) - working great,
4 - WMS - i need configure it as wireless,
5 - WiFi with Radius - i need configure it as wireless.VLANS on the Access Points:
4 - WMS - for warehouse terminals - WPA2,
5 - WiFi for office stuff with Radius.
I'm easily able to get it running a single SSID (non-VLAN) network and confirm that I can use that network fine. However, I need to set up these 2 VLANs. I can connect to it via telnet if that'll let me program it faster.
Currently using intel 5100 & 6200 client cards on multiple driver versions. WiSM is 7.0.116. APs are 1250 and 1260 series. Citrix is setup to send server-side keepalives for session reliability. Randomly, several times a day the client will get disconnected from the Citrix application session but maintain connectivity to the AP and other applications continue to work. Traces show the server-side keepalive reach the controller but are delayed from controller to client by 5-6 seconds. Just enough time for the Citrix server to timeout and tear down to session. Additional testing shows the delay most likely occurs somewhere from controller to AP. It occurs on multiple controllers on multiple campuses.
We have Dell/Broadcom clients that don't experience the problem. The only commonality seems to be the Intel cards. CCX? I know Intel has a special relationship with Cisco regarding CCX and have developed features not available on other cards. Tried disabling power save and other CCX features but hasn't solved the issue.
why PPP is being used for data transmission and why IP is being used for Video ?
Cant we send video on PPP ? what problem we would face in this case ?
I want to make a career in networking. What does 3g stand for.is it different from 1G or 2g except that the speed is higher than the above two.And nowdays the USB modems that come out say 3g and also there are two kinds of speed 3.6Mbps and 7.2 Mbps. How come such a huge difference under the same kind of connection standard .And when 3g came out there was lot of hype.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I start a web browser based application with a URL beginning with the 192 IP address. it runs as it should including the script dbscript.php which executes a MySQL commit unit. However when I start the application with the same URL but beginning instead with "localhost", it fails during the commit unit. It puts a blank screen up (rather than a Succesful or Failed commit screen) and leaves an error message in the Apache error_log indicating a problem with dbscript.php (which does the commit).I assume the 192 IP address is that of my modem. I assume that because the application will not start with the 192 URL if the modem is switched off. The application will start whether the modem is on or off if the URL begins with "localhost".I have checked all hosts files that are on the system and see nothing amiss there -- they are all defaults and no changes have been made by me.
Configuration:
Mac OS X v. 10.6.8
Apache v. 2.2.21
PHP v. 5.3.8
MySql v. 5.1.39

View 7 Replies View RelatedFirst, I am lost between the differences between Port Forwarding, QoS and Application Rules...5 PC's online at same time playing Diablo 3. All lag terribly, and I see posts saying to setup QoS, then another says port foward, then another says setup application rules. I want any PC running D3 to have top priority and max bandwidth...If I try to set QoS, it has Protocol and Remote Port Ranges which I don't know what to put where. If I try to Port Forward, it only wants to let me use one IP address for the ports needed, plus I don't understand the difference between TCP and UDP settings. If I try Application Rules, it asks for a firewall port, which I don't know what to enter.Diablo 3 uses ports 80, 1119, and 6881-6999 I have Rev A2 with 1.21 Firmware and all my machines are on Win7. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird issue I have never seen before and am trying to get some answers. I setup a laptop for one of our employees who works out in the field. We typically login to the machine while on the network with a domain account. This is so the password gets cached and they can login to the machine once they receive it. I sent a laptop to this one guy (who is rather tech savvy-so I know it is not user error) and he could not login to the laptop using his network credentials. I was able to get him on his home network using his router, and I RDP'ed into the machine. When I was remotely connected, I was able to login to the PC with no problem. However, after I disconnected, he tried to login also and it kept telling him that the domain was not available? It wasn't even an "invalid password or login" error.I ended up creating another local account on the machine so he could work, but I am stumped as to why he could not login locally, but I could using RDP.
