View 1 RepliesIs there a way to get notifications (emails) when the external ip changes and the rotuer updates dyndns?i need to get an email about this change of ip. The only constraint is it has to work without a computer attached to the router as it would have to be powered on 24/7 So ip change notifiers like trueip or ipcheck won't work as they are programs that run in a computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI gave this old router (DGL-4300) to someone far away and couldnt get it work over the phone.Normally, I would just connect it to my cable modem and it detects all the WAN IPs (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server, Secondary DNS Server). However, she lives in a building and her internet comes from the wall where she attaches her Macbook to it via Ethernet. When she connects the router to the wall, the WAN IPs remain at 0.0.0.0.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust the other day, I had to restore my laptop to it's factory conditions. Ever since then I have not been able to connect to the router, before I restored my laptop though I was already having trouble with my Internet connections. I have tried troubleshooting but it cannot detect anything wrong with anything. I know it's not the router since I am still able to connect to it via other devices. I restarted the router just in case but that has done nothing.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I just finished building my new PC. Installed windows 7. Plugged in wireless network adapter in USB port. It detects it and I'm able to connect to the internet. I download chrome and install it.
I restart the computer. And now it shows I have no network adapters and I can't find it in device manager. Plugged it in again in, used different ports.. to no avail. I plugged the network adapter into another PC and it works.
when we hooked our computers into our lan swich, which is a 3com dual speed switch 8, all of our machines reported that there was local or no conectivity.according to ipconfig, we all had addresses of 169.254.xxx.xxx, so we manually set the ip addresses, and still nothing.finally, we reset the router, and still nothing?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I fix my network so that my Windows 7 and XP computers automatically detect each other on the network. Right now, they cannot browse each other by computer name, instead I have to type their IP addresses (for example: \192.168.2.5) in the windows explorer address bar, and then I can browse to their shared folders. And under "Network" (in Windows Explorer) each computer only displays itself, and not the other (unless I have already typed in the other's IP address, in which case it displays the other computer as the IP address).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Linux Mint 10 (Julia). Having found the network options, it seems unable to find my BTHomeHub2, although Windows 7 finds it perfectly well with 5 bars.Interestingly, the network icon in Linux only shows VPN connections and Wired connections, no wireless section. My computer is a Medion Akoya E4120 D with a Realtek RTL8191SU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter. The wireless adapter is inside the PC, attached to an internal USB port I'm guessing. So all in all, how do I get my wireless internet to work with Linux Mint 10?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Compaq laptop (Vista) was working just fine last night, connected to my home wireless network all right and all. Today morning my laptop couldn't detect my home wireless network at all, but it could still detect a bunch of other networks from the neighbours. My iPhone can detect my network with no problems, my desktop computer is wired up to the router, works fine too. It's a D-Link DIR-655. This has happened before but usually gets solved when I reboot (switching off and on) my router. I've tried that, tried restarting my computer too, no use. Haven't tried anything beyond that because I'm an idiot with computers.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhave now been trying to get a wireless adapter to work on my computer for a couple of days now. I ordered a refurbished Cisco AE2500 and tried for hours to get it to work to no avail. I can't quite rember everything I tried to get it to work, but I will try. When I try to install from the installation CD it will not detect the adapter. I tried to download the drivers from the internet, but windows did not recognize them. I tried to update the drivers through device manage and windows update and that did not work. I updated all motherboard drivers and BIOS. I tried unplugging the power from the wall. I tried resetting the BIOS. After all of that, I decided that the adapter must not work.Today I went to Staples and bought a NETGEAR G54/N150 USB Micro Adapter. I ran the setup CD, put the adapter in and it detected. It would not connect to the router for some reason, and I thought it may have been because I set it to use the push to connect feature and the router did not have that feature, so, I uninstalled the software and tried to reinstall using just the stand alone windows driver and now my computer won't even detect it. I went through most of the things I went through with the first router again and nothing has worked
