I am having a few issues with the HG556A Vodafone Router/Modem ADSL 2+.Firstly i cant get my friend to connect to my game server i am hosting with the same exact settings as we had it 2 weeks ago, Local IP's have not altered, DMZ, NAT etc still the same, External ip is Dynamic and i gave him the new one and he can successfully ping it. One problem is that i cant ping his IP, I get no response. He is connected to the internet.Secondly how can i connect to my server at home with RDP from an external location?
i cant connect to most of my friends through xbox and computer, i also cant connect to some games servers. it also says that i have a nat strict. i don't care if my router has no security. i just want my internet to be fast and i can connect to people.
via one of my friends having an issue with connecting to a variety of games for more than a few mins:When I join a game after about 5 or so minutes of play I get kicked out of the game and it throws this error "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out."If I attempt to re join a server the game then throws this error "Game disconnected: could not join server."The only way to play anoter 5 minutes is to restart my computer.Furthermore I have fios and a bigfoot killer 2100 NIC so pleanty of internet speed and low ping.
This is one of the standard issue vodafone routers. So i set up web-server on my laptop, and it is accessible to the internet now.
However I need to be able to access it from my machine using the public address. But I just cannot find where to enable nat loopback. I looked for options in both regular and advanced user logins (web interfaces). So I suppose the last option is telneting into it, and using commands to do it.. but I don't know how to access it (cant find the credentials). URL
In above link it says that i can find this info in configuration file, but how to access it?
And then what commands should I use to enable the NAT loopback?
ok so im obviously connected to the net as i can surf the web and play games online, however when i play something that requires a launcher/updater like MMOs the internet cannot connect to it? it also happens on steam.. i can view my friends and chat, launch and play games but i cannot view the store or anything via steam browser.
My router that i am currently using has 1gbp/s lan and i seem to be limited to 10mbp/s when i try to transfer files across the network. I have the HG556a firmware.
my laptop was used by my Mother, So when i got back The anti virus guard got unknown error Avira free vers, and i had services.exe infected, and i had already found a way to clean it it, by renaming services.exe to services.bak and putting another computers services.exe.
Today I got a new modem, which gave me internet on the computer. I still can't get online on my PS3 or IPOD. How to create a new wireless connection. Also the World icon on the router is red but everything else is green.
Living in a student house in the UK, under Orange ISP in central Manchester. My 5 housemates are connected wirelessly to the same router, and are all receiving much faster download speeds (2 megabytes per second etc), and consistant connections than mine (which goes up to 2 megabytes per second, to under 1 kilobyte), yet they may be further away in the house etc.My wireless connection speed varies, changing every second between parameters 54.0mbps, to 1mbps, and ping on ventrillo VoIP software going between 16 and believe it or not, 16,000. I've tried changing the wireless channels, but still no luck, as for connections to game servers, my internet is so bad I can't tell if I've got to do port forwarding/triggering (something along those lines), or if it's just too awful to connect full stop. I'll get to a log in screen, some games like HoN, it will say connecting to server, and appear to time out, nothing happens. Guild wars 2 however logs in, however the second I appear in-game it freezes and lags out.I've contemplated getting a powerline adapter, however if everyone else is getting better wireless speeds and having no issues what-so-ever, it may be on my PC's end, and I'll have wasted £30. A 20M ethernet cable isn't practical either, as student houses have forced closure fire doors which would chew the cable to bits in days, and if a drunk housemate tripped over it on the stairs, they'd rip the back of my PC out...
i have and original xbox 360 hardwired to my linkisis router. i can use xbox live silver with all the game marketplaces and all that but when i have gold and try to go on multiplayer it says xbox liv servers are unavailible. my internet provider is xplornet and i have avg anti virus on my laptop
I have CISCO DPC3825 router and theres about 3 computers and 2 wireless devices using internet through it. When i connect to a online video game I get these mini-disconnects. It happens periodically and frequently I'm not sure what is causing it.
How can i prevent my Vodafone usb stick device to enter in 3G mode when the network is very low usage or not at all. If i open google for example, it turns automatically on HSUPA mode with a better speed, but if im doing nothing after 1min or so it goes back on 3G more slower speed. So the 3G / HSUPA mode is auto switched depending on demand based on how much speed is needed at that moment. I am playing an online game and the network usage by the game when im inside playing it, is not in that range to trigger the HSUPA mode, and just stay in 3G causing me to have lots of lag, is there a workaround for this so when im playing the game to be connected with HSUPA instead of 3G? ( i was thinking about some kinda of slow trafic generator that generates a litle trafic continuously to trigger that HSUPA mode while im playing, but not sure if is possible and also not too much to affect my conection speed which is slow anyway on a mobile) You can see in the picture, the ping on google while its both modes, as u can see 3-5times ping increase while its on 3G. I tried to install Vodafone K3765 USB internet stick. I installed the software which came in the flashdrive. With this software I tried to connect to internet but I got error message "The device has been disconnected or is unavailable". I checked in device manager and in two categories this device appeared. Those two categories were "Modem" and "Network Adapter". Why this device comes under two categories plus why I am getting this error message?
Got a Vodafone SureSignal (VSS) to work with a Linksys router/modem ? My X3000 is to replace a Belkin N1 which had an intermittent fault. My VSS worked fine with the Belkin and required no additional setup, however since connecting to my X3000 is just will not connect.I have tried to manually forward all ports as suggested just in case but no matter what I try it refuses to sync and connect through the VPN tunnel. This is a link to the vodafone setup guide: SureSignal setup,Just for sanity sake I have reconnected my old Belkin and it then connects again in a couple of minutes, so it is definitely a setup issue with my X3000.s this is getting very frustrating and I cannot believe a VSS cannot work with the leading brand of router.

Vodafone K5006-Z modem not on compatibility list for TL-MR3420 V2. This is a 4G LTE usb modem. Is it possible to create a configuration bin file for this modem to get this connection up and running?
I recently downloaded the crysis 2 demo. But i disconnect 2-5 minutes into a game. I tried playing while directly plug into the modem and i can play as long as i want.
I am currently using the D-Link DIR-615 HW VER:c1 FW VER:3.13.Crysis is the only game with this problem at the moment. I have tried googling it but still won't work.I have tried to disabled my firewall+antivirus and i still disconnect.
When someone goes into a game (e.g. Minecraft) instead of typing an IP to join a game they simply type in [URL] and then the server gets added just the same as if you typed in an IP (123.456.789 sorta thing)
My friend used to do this on his website and it worked across multiple games, so people only entered his website and didnt need to remember the IP. if you type in [URL] in minecraft then u can add that server without the IP, thats what i mean.
At my university I have huge lag spikes when playing Hon (heroes of newerth) my friends are playing and have no issues. As of now, I have turned all the graphics down to the lowest settings, disabled every function of the windows firewall I could find, and ensured no other programs are running (even closed explorer) Any idea what could be causing this? (I have no antivirus active)
I bought a magazine 'PC JEUX', it had the game 'Far Cry' accompanied with it.On the case, it is mentioned Internet Explorer must be the default browser in order to use the interface. I ran it in internet explorer and the file was interrupted. I also ran it in Mozilla,Opera and Chrome but it was interrupted. I ran the setup.exe from the DVD and it said that it was not a valid Win 32 application. It had the game King Of Kings 3 also. It has the same problem.
I have similiar problem, that just started few days ago, when I installed norton 360 and logmein software. After that day, I havent been able to play War of the Roses Beta game nor Age of Conan game, without internet stopping to work. League of Legends does not trigger this problem for some reason.
When problem occurs I get no connection to internet, although network says it has internet connection. I can connect to internet again after few minutes (5-15) and all is fine, until I play online games again. My friend says he hears me a little while (through xfire) after I get disconnected from the game, I dont hear him though.
I was thinking of making new thread, but I feel the problem might be connected or something. Atleast the problem sounds much like mine.
I'll try to keep it short. On this Games For Windows Live game (Dawn Of War II) I can connect to and play on the internet just fine. Enabled port 3074 and 88 so that GFWL wouldn't have any problems connecting to my computer. Port 3074 has an issue however. With the PortForward testing program (Open Port Check - PortForward.com), whenever I check port 3074 outside the game, both UDP and TCP show green and are forwarded correctly. However when I'm in the game, alt-tab, and run the test again, it shows UDP red after testing, indicating it's not forwarded correctly.I think I know precisely what the problem is; either something in GFWL or the game itself is blocking port 3074. But why it's doing this, and how to find out what it is, I really have no idea.
I recently moved from an old apartment in Downtown Montreal, to a suburb area, but still close to where I was before (10 km). I am using the same ISP provider, Videotron. The same speed. I was playing games perfectly fine before, but now something is really wrong. Whenever I join a server, my ping skyrockets up to close to 200, sometimes drifting to 130 but never going below... and often rising back up again.Keep in mind that I filter servers by their pings. I only join servers that display a low ping (although often I won't see any, when I refresh.. there they are). I'll see a server with 30 ping, join it, and be at 200. I'm mainly trying to play Chivalry Medieval Warfare. It's entirely unplayable. Not only is it impossible to properly time parries anymore, but I also get a lot of rubberbanding. I've tested the internet here, and the speeds are accurate. 10 mbps down, 1 mbps up. I am connected to a Linksys E1200 router. I've tried everything I can possibly think of.I went into the router setup, disabled the firewall, added myself to a DMZ, tried to forward every port for steam (although it didn't seem to recognize it as a program)... rebooted the modem, my computer, the router, tried a different Ethernet cable.. nothing is working. It's very depressing. Nothing has changed on my own computer in the move.
I have Charter Cable internet and a SMCD3GN2-RES Gateway and I was wondering if it can support multiple Xboxes. Right now I have it setup with a few switches in the network but I can't seem to get both of the Xboxes on open NAT at the same time. Also, my PC loses connection randomly and can't game online.
I'm using a wireless usb on a home network. The problem is only this desktopBasically what happens is if I try to play an MMO on fullscreen(windowed is fine) I get disconnected from the game server or if I'm playing a single player game and alt-tab out the internet won't work unless I close the game. I typically get the "limited or no connectivity" message. No other problems with the internetTech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1OS Version:[CODE]
I am having a bit of trouble with my internet. Whenever I start up a video game like ArmA, CoD, BF3, GMod, ect. My internet crashes. I also ran game booster and it crashed my internet. [code]
I got a quad core i5 750 and pci-e intel pro CT.It seems when I leave a game running in a window (is an old game, final fantasy 7) although the cpu is nowhere near full load in fact barely quarter load I am getting jitter on my lan traffic. Took me a while to diagnose as I didnt think that would be cause. It happens whether hardware offload is on or off on the card. This also didnt happen with the same network card in my core2duo machine, so even tho that had less power it didnt have a problem with this usage.
Is this a possibility of a saturated DMI channel on the P55 chipset, sending data for the game at same time as nic data? or probably something else?
I have install the administration toolpack on Windows 7 and enabled remote connections on my server 2008 box, When i try and connect with my Windows 7 server manager it does not work.I see stuff on google about enabling a trustedhost with winrm but can't find a way to do this.
i have a DIR-601. Basic settings, port forwarded for Xbox live and Wolfenstein enemy territory.I have a home PC with a wired connection and a laptop which is set up through wireless. I installed the game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory on my laptop and every time I start the game and attempt to fetch a server list, my router resets itself. The game works fine when I connect directly to my modem, but not when I connect to my router
