i cant connect to most of my friends through xbox and computer, i also cant connect to some games servers. it also says that i have a nat strict. i don't care if my router has no security. i just want my internet to be fast and i can connect to people.
View 1 RepliesI am having a few issues with the HG556A Vodafone Router/Modem ADSL 2+.Firstly i cant get my friend to connect to my game server i am hosting with the same exact settings as we had it 2 weeks ago, Local IP's have not altered, DMZ, NAT etc still the same, External ip is Dynamic and i gave him the new one and he can successfully ping it. One problem is that i cant ping his IP, I get no response. He is connected to the internet.Secondly how can i connect to my server at home with RDP from an external location?

For instance, I have a dyndns address of ericnewton76.dyndns.org. This points to my router. Works fine if you're NOT within the router's internal network, ie, outside hosts can get in just fine (try it... http:// , you'll see an IIS7 welcome screen)
However, when INSIDE the network, the requests don't get connected properly, and they used to... ie, I work with code, so my svn repo is at ericnewton76.dyndns.org/svn but inside my network it doesn't connect properly anymore (whereas it used to before firmware update)
So now I wish I could back-peddle to 1.0 firmware.

I recently purchased a tl-wr842nd, my printer is a hp laserjet 1020 and it is in the compatible list as I seen. The problem is that I connect the printer in the usb routers port and the led do not light up, I tried putting my pendrive to see if the usb routers port wasn't working but it does since the pendrive is accepted and online and the usb led lights.I downloaded and installed the latest firmware but there's no change, I did everything like it saids in the faq 415 where it explains how to install and use printer server with no luck.
via one of my friends having an issue with connecting to a variety of games for more than a few mins:When I join a game after about 5 or so minutes of play I get kicked out of the game and it throws this error "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out."If I attempt to re join a server the game then throws this error "Game disconnected: could not join server."The only way to play anoter 5 minutes is to restart my computer.Furthermore I have fios and a bigfoot killer 2100 NIC so pleanty of internet speed and low ping.

I've been having a strange intermitent problem with my E1500 wireless router. When we first bought and installed it everything was working well with no known problems. After several months no one using the router was able to access certain websites as well as a game server that we play on. No one had made any changes to the router settings and I assumed at first that it was an ISP problem. After talking with our ISP tech support they finally suggested plugging my PC directly into the modem rather then the router. I did and found that the websites and servers that previously wouldn't connect while using the router were now reachable. Any changes to the router settings since installation.I decided that just in case someone unauthorized had made changes to simply revert the router to factory settings and reinstall the software. After doing this I found that I could again reach the websites and servers that I previously could not. So time went on with no problems until a few months later when the same websites and servers were again unreachable by anyone on our router. I again reset the router to factory settings and changed passwords as a precaution, but this time the websites and servers were unreachable even though I had just reset the router.

I also noticed that any and all messages sent from friends didnt show until I rebooted my console. Something is SERIOUSLY WRONG here and would like a MOD to comment on this.

I'm not sure what protocols it uses, but it shouldn't require any configuration on the Router, since it was working fine before. I upgraded the firmware to 4.13 in an attempt to fix the issue, but it didn't work. Some people have suggested "Endpoint filtering" to be set to independent, but I cannot find such an option. Where is the option? I was told it was on the Firewall page, but it is not there (Advanced->Firewall/DMZ). The router is supplied by Virgin Media (ISP) but I'm not sure if that matters.

When the router is first turned on or a setting is changed any/all of the computers here can connect to the Ultima Online game server for login but within a few minutes most will not be able to. Its as if they are being refused a connection to login.owo.com (I think that is where they connect to). 1 maybe 2 computers can still connect but its fickle and can't know which 1 or 2 it will be or for how long.any computers already connected to a game server are fine its just the ones trying to login after the router has been running for a few minutes. My first assumption 2 days ago when this happened with my dlink gaming router was that the router developed a problem but now with a new router its still happening. The problem started when I re-enabled the wireless on my gaming router and when I noticed the problem I re-disabled the wireless but the problem persists. A new modem (the DIR-655) did not work...

We have a leased internet connection which is used on a number of different offices. The sbs-server has an IP address of 192.168.50.254 with a gateway Ip address of 192.168.50.1. The firewall on this network has an external IP of 10.50.0.37 with a gateway of 10.50.0.254 and this links to the leased line equipment. The external IP address for this network is 62.7.70.237. The PC in the warehouse has an IP address of 192.168.0.2 attached via a router to the leased line. The routers Ip address is 192.168.0.1, the external IP address is 10.50.0.55 and a gateway of 10.50.0.254. This links to the leased line and seems to have an external Ip address of 62.7.70.238. My issue is that I want the PC in the warehouse to be able to connect in some way to the SBS-Server. I cannot seem to access it via the external IP or the gateway (10.50.0.37).

My 5 housemates are connected wirelessly to the same router, and are all receiving much faster download speeds (2 megabytes per second etc), and consistant connections than mine (which goes up to 2 megabytes per second, to under 1 kilobyte), yet they may be further away in the house etc.My wireless connection speed varies, changing every second between parameters 54.0mbps, to 1mbps, and ping on ventrillo VoIP software going between 16 and believe it or not, 16,000. I've tried changing the wireless channels, but still no luck, as for connections to game servers, my internet is so bad I can't tell if I've got to do port forwarding/triggering (something along those lines), or if it's just too awful to connect full stop. I'll get to a log in screen, some games like HoN, it will say connecting to server, and appear to time out, nothing happens. Guild wars 2 however logs in, however the second I appear in-game it freezes and lags out.I've contemplated getting a powerline adapter, however if everyone else is getting better wireless speeds and having no issues what-so-ever, it may be on my PC's end, and I'll have wasted £30. A 20M ethernet cable isn't practical either, as student houses have forced closure fire doors which would chew the cable to bits in days, and if a drunk housemate tripped over it on the stairs, they'd rip the back of my PC out...

At one point I was able to connect to my drives but was unable to connect to the internet. But once I call the ISP they had me change setting for Ipv4 changed defualt gateway, Ip address and DNS after that I was unable to reconnect to my drives. I've done full shut downs and restarts and nothing has worked. 1 of the computers connects to the server through wifi. I also run a VPN.

I've confirmed that the ANIServer6.0 is running (it says "Running with busy flag set"). I've also tried restarting the Daemon Manager. What should I look at? Could it be a Java problem?

Unable to connect to DNS server/browse internet
We are having a network of 7 computers and a server (Ubuntu server). The problem is, two of them are not connecting to the network. When i check the network card of these two systems, it seems working (the green light is blinking). When i replace these systems with a laptop, it connecting to the network and there is not problem at all.

I am trying to get my ACL's to work, but when ever I do an extened acl and let certain one in (80,443,21,etc) my computer gets an internet error saying it cannot conntact the dns server. I've tried severl ways to fix it, but cannot seem to get it to work.
Right now i just have access-list 1 on. Eventually I would like to have only "Apple" and 101 on.

I have CISCO DPC3825 router and theres about 3 computers and 2 wireless devices using internet through it. When i connect to a online video game I get these mini-disconnects. It happens periodically and frequently I'm not sure what is causing it.
