Have Netgear Wireless Router But Can't Find WPA Password
Feb 8, 2012
I have reset and rebooted my netgear wireless router. it told me set up was successful yet even though it tells me I am connected I still am unable to access the internet. It also shows an exclamation over my connection bars. How can i fix this? This all started when I was trying to access my router from a new laptop. I could not remember my security key. I reset and erased what I had stored. Have made a new but still no internet access.

I have a wireless router AOpen AOI-893. It works fine on my laptop, but I bought a new handheld Cruz tablet and when I try to connect to WiFi , the only strong signal seems to be a "default" one. It asks for a password, which I'm unable to come up with. I've tried all of the ones I usually use, plus 1234, admin, etc. No luck. Either I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely by trying the "default" , or I need to know how to find a password. I'm a computer illiterate.
I am trying to hook up a wireless printer to my HP windows 7 PC. During set-up mode, the printer asks for a "WEP KEY CODE". I took the one off the bottom of the router, but printer is still saying that I FAILED the security check.
I have tried using my router name and password when you 1st connect and got nothing.I have held the reset button for a minute straight to try and restore default settings and have got nothing. I'm trying to enter my ISP into the web browser
This is for a E1000 model router.I recently downloaded Cisco Connect. It wants my router name and password. I don't know the password. How can I find the password or change it? The password might still be the default, but "admin" does not work.
I successful set up my WRT54GR router. Now I want to add a new device but can't find or remember my user name and password. So I decided to reinstall the router only to find that the http://192.168.1.1 page asks me for my admin password - having sensibly created one 4 years ago which I have now forgotten or where I wrote it down. How the hell do I get around this - if at all or do I have to buy a new router and start all over again!
I have a desktop and a laptop..Netgear for wifi...All worked fine until I disconnected my desktop....Now the only way my laptop will work is if plug it into the ethernet...making it a desktop of sorts...How do I fix this so it will work wherever I want it to?
My monthly internet allocation has recently been getting used up far more quickly than I expect it should. I am wondering if someone unauthorised is using my wireless facility. I do not remember ever applying a password to this facility. How would I find out it if has password protection?
