Home Network :: AirTies 4450 Static IP Configuration

Feb 25, 2012

I have a router manufactured by AirTies, the model is Air 4450.This has the capability of being an Access Point in a current network, which is how I want to use it. (Introducing it into my current Sky Broadband network with a Sagem F@ST 2504N router). However, I cannot access the configuration page whatsoever. The manual states the default IP address of the router is 192.168.2.254, so I have set my laptop to a static IP of 192.168.2.100 and patched into LAN port #1 on the rear of the Airties 4450, powered on the unit and cannot access the router at all.I have held down the reset button several times to no avail.how I can configure this unit ?

When i use DHCP, i am able to connect to the web.

When i change my ip address to a static address (with an available ip address and correct subnet mask and default gateway) i am unable to connect to the web.

Home Network :: ISP Won't Give Static IP?

Jun 23, 2011

What I'm trying to go for is to make a Static IP so that I can forward my ports in order to play certain games. I have had my ports forwarded at one time with a different ISP (in the same area), however they used cable and the company I'm with now uses DSL. The company "Hawaiian Telcom" has provided me with a Motorola 2210 modem/router. I have had trouble trying to create a static IP with this router so (sorry if this was a stupid move) I decided to buy a linksys router to try to port forward with that. When my ports were forwarded with the previous ISP I was using a linksys router then. The now aged linksys router was replaced due to it getting wet, but that's besides the point

Home Network :: Static DHCP With DD-WRT?

May 28, 2012

For numerous reasons, I want to bind my DHCP clients to static IP addresses, but can't figure out how to do it in DD-WRT.

I've googled, but every link I click times out (for this specific search- my uplink is otherwise fine).

I know I can do it with hardcoded IPs, I'm just curious how static DHCP is done (and yes I am aware that Static is a contradiction in terms of DHCP. I want a given MAC to always get the same IP) and would like to have some info on this.

(call this reserved DHCP if you prefer... )

So I have AT&T U-verse and am teaching myself networking and am wanting to mess around in creating my home network and set up static IPs for my devices. I know how to set them up, but I guess AT&T is saying that they have to allocate the static IPs....pretty much they are saying I have to pay them so they can say ok I can use the IP addresses from xxx-xxx-x-10 to and then depnding on how many I want to have depends on how much I pay. This makes no sense to me. Why should I have to pay my ISP for static IP address, from my understanding those are things

But I also need reverse rule that packets originating from intAddr:8888 are translated to extAddr:8888. Can I do that? What technique can I search on google to find more information, because it is not port forwarding. I would calll it reverse port forwarding or static port address translation, but I do not find anything useful in internet searching these keywords.

Home Network :: ZyWall USG20 Multiple Static IPs?

All 4 Servers are running on the same machine.Everything is running smoothly, however, I need to do some Bandwidth Management and Port Mapping, this is why I bought a ZyWall USG20, thinking it would be perfectly capable of doing what I need. is it possible, with a ZyWall USG20, to have all my four IP adresses being forwarded to the one physical machine, and apply some bandwith shaping and port mapping to it?

Home Network :: Double Protection Network Configuration?

Nov 21, 2011

I have a problem with my home network/internet - I have a working wireless network that I have used for some time now and it works just fine. the problem is that internet restrictions where I live require me to register each unit to the building network before I can gain access to the internet. My caretaker told me today that normally, I only should register my primary computer and the wireless router to be able to use the internet freely. However when a new laptop appears( I have a guest), I can easily connect it to my own wireless, but it can't use the internet, as if it needed to be registered again. I ran out of registration codes and I really would like to have freedom i connection opportunities. The caretaker said that the system gives every registered unit a "fake" IP, so after giving it to mu router, all other units connected through that router should have unlimited access. Is my network configured in a wrong way? I don't know how to ask this in a more simple way... I just want to be able to connect a friends laptop to the net with just my local password, which isn't happening.

Home Network :: Unorthodox Wireless Router Configuration?

Jan 5, 2012

Here's my situation:I live in a house that has AT&T U-verse. My pc is a couple of rooms away from the U-verse router so I pick up my Internet signal via a Netgear WG111v2 USB wireless adapter. Works great. But I have a couple of "new" Palm Pre handhelds with sync software that requires a wireless connection (won't do USB). Fortunately, I had a Netgear WGR614 v4 54 Mbps Wireless Router in storage. (I used it years ago so it had already been configured but back then it was wired directly to an AT&T router with a patch cable to my roommate's pc and to my pc wirelessly.)

So I just powered it up, plugged a patch cable into my pc's NIC and plugged the other end into the WAN port. Voila! I had connectivity to my Palm Pre's. All was well for about 15 minutes when all of a sudden my pc lost connection (wirelessly) to the U-verse router. And though the Netgear Smart Wizard showed a strong signal from the Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router and the Palm's were picking up a strong signal from it, they couldn't "surf" the Net.

I guess WinXP (being PnP) decided to adjust things causing everything to stop working. (Just a guess.I moved the patch cable from the WAN port to a LAN port. This enabled me to access the Netgear router wizard for the first time since I used it years agohttp://192.168.0.1) I couldn't access it earlier in this "endeavor" when the patch cable was connected to the WAN port. So this seemed encouraging. But no, it didn't work. Nothing was connecting to the Net. And the only way to restore my pc's connection via the Netgear USB wireless adapter to U-verse was to unplug the Netgear wireless router.

Home Network :: Advanced Home Network Setup (3 Subnets) And Port Forwarding?

Feb 24, 2013

I have a Time Warner Cable business class service with no static IP, with a wireless modem which is plugged to a CAT5 distribution panel. On the jacks (2 other rooms on the house) I have a Linksys E3000 and a Linksys Valet router for signal boost and gadgets usage (TV, cameras, etc). The main router (TWC) has it's own external IP which TWC assigns to me and internally distributes via DHCP the range 192.168.0.x. With that said:

- The E3000 has a 192.168.0.6 IP -- this is fixed setup on the TWC router (ubee brand) by MAC address
- The Valet has a 192.168.0.7 IP -- this is fixed setup on the TWC router (ubee brand) by MAC address
- The main router has the 192.168.0.1 as the gateway and web-interface

Whenever I connect something to the E3000, it is distributing the 192.168.1.x range and the valet 192.168.2.x range. That works perfectly for my home based business until I decided to use more stuff on the network such as a IP printer, IP cameras, etc.

- The IP cameras are connected to the E3000 due to signal strength and I have manually assigned them the 192.168.1.15 and 192.168.1.16 IPs and ports 9001 and 9002.

- The printer is connected to the E3000 and I have manually assigned the IP 192.168.1.30.

Issue 1: Port forwarding On the main router (TWC - UBEE) I have tried to setup a port forwarding by informing the Local IP as 192.168.0.6 (E3000 IP), Internal Port 0, Public Interface IP (0.0.0.0), Ext Start Port 9001, Ext End Port 9001, Protocol - Both, Enabled Yes. On the E3000 I did the same config (screen shot attached e3000.png).This is not working properly. I can't get into the camera.

Issue 2: Printer/ The printer is only accessible if I connect to the E3000 (because it is on the 192.168.1.x network)

Issue 3: How to configure all the devices on the same subnet? If I want everyone to be on the 192.168.0.x network, how to configure properly the E3000 and the Valet? I have tried to force them into the same network but it would not work properly. It would not get an IP from the UBEE router (main).

Cisco Routers :: RVS4000 Loses Static IP Configuration Once Or Twice Month

Sometimes it's AT&T fault but other times my RVS4000 dosen't behave well. I finally took screen shots of every screen I configured in the RVS4000 to make it work in my environment. Last night we lost internet access again. Before unplugging everything I looked in the RVS4000 and found that my WAN setup had reverted back to a default Automatic Configuration - DHCP instead of the Static IP that I had previously saved.

It seems that my RVS4000 is losing just that WAN setting (port forwarding and Static IP Mapping data and VPN client data is still intact.

Cisco Wireless :: AP1142 Preferring DHCP Address Over Static Configuration

Jul 30, 2012

I'm experimenting a strage issue with some AP1142 that prefer getting new IP from DHCP server rather than using the static ip already configured.

I've got  more than a hundred of 1142 APs already conected to a 5508, all with static IP, all working fine for about a year.

As i installed 30 more AP, i enabled a dhcp scope on the controller to give IP to the new APs and when the new aps got registered i changed the configuration to static IP.

The problem comes when some of the older AP than have already static ip are gettig ip from dhcp scope.

If i look at my WCS, it reports that this APS are getting DHCP IP because they cannot reach the controller with their static ip. As this is impossible, because the static ip and the dhcp enable scope are in the same subnet in a layer 2 configuration and with the same gateway. (e.g: old AP 10.10.2.10/16; new AP(dhcp 10.10.3.10-50) 10.10.3.15/16; gw 10.10.254.1)

The problem comes when i disable the dhcp scope, all the older aps that got dchp ip from the wlc scope instead of using their staic configured ip are deregistered. If i reset every ap manually, from the swithc disabling PoE, they start to use the static ip and everything comes fine.

This is happening with about ten of fifteen APs from the 100 installed, that is the strange thing because this seem to be very random as the failing APs are installed in different building and connected to different switches.

As now i have disabled dhcp scope and all APs (old and new) have static ip everything is ok, but i will have to add some more APs shortly and every time i enable the dhcp scope on the wlc
