View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an EnGenius AP (EOC-2610) I want to connect to my primary router (WRT310N) to extend my network. how I must setup the WRT310N (and maybe the EnGenius) to make it all work together ?
Is the AP's IP should be static ? ie 192.168.1.2 (next to main router's IP)or should it be static in the the primary's DHCP range ? ie 192.168.1.101 or should it be dynamic the IP given by the primary router ?
The WES610N bridge seems to work fine, but I cannot get into the web-based setup. I have tried using it directly through my laptop, as the instructions show, then through an Asus RT-53N as a router. I did have the 610 connected to my laptop's ethernet socket, where it provided internet through the Asus RT-53N wireless router just fine, but when I tried to access the setup, again, it would not work. Next, I tried it through a desktop and Linksys RVS4000, again nothing. I would like to check the firmware and see what else is in the menu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are looking into setting up wireless internet access for the whole complex.
1) We would have around 200 users at max (accounting for people to have more than one device or computer connected. Such as Xbox360 and whatnot). What speeds should we consider from a ISP.?
2) Should we get more than one ISP feed?
3) How many wireless access points should we get? (Ruffly we are looking at 5-6)
4) Where should the WAP's be placed around the complex? Considering the apartments are brick outside and inside regular wood frame/drywall construction type. Also should they be inside or outdoor WAP's.
5)What hardware should be considered? (switches, WAP's, ect...)
May I know that can a CISCO RV220W setup as a Access Point in company network? We already have a router for IP management. is it possible to setup as Acces point?
Also can we separate the guest and internal user for using wireless by difference SSID and VLAN. It seem it cannot setup if i need to setup limited network access right by SSID and VLAN.
I have installed the following wireless access point on our network:
-Product Identifier: AP541N-E-K9
-Hardware Version: V01
-Software Version: AP541N-K9-2.0(0)
I have created 2 VAP's and give each one an SSID. They both have the same VLAN ID. I have setup as follows:
1) The first VAP I would like to give internet access and access to our internal network shares.
2) The second VAP I only wish to give internet access and no access at all to our internal network (for guest access). I am also using HTTP redirect with this.
how can I achieve the setup in number (2)? This is to give internet access, but not share the internal network.
I'm trying to find out if it's possible to setup a 3600HGV (VDSL Gateway) as modem only and have a Netgear DGN3500 (ADSL2+) as a wireless access point. I'm aware that both are DSL modems, my reasoning for wanting to have them both hooked up is that
a) the 3600HGV has no Gigabit switch and runs on wireless G
b) the DGN 3500 has a Gigabit switch and does wireless N. So in a nutshell I want the 3600 as simple modem and the 3500 as a wireless N access point with Gigabit switch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a FIOS setup with their Router/modem providing DHCP and Wireless routing. The problem I have is that I have a mix of older equipment and newer equipment. The newer equipment is capable of supporting WPA2, the older is not. I would like the benefits of WPA2, but still would like to at times be able to use the older equipment. My solution was to use a WRT160N v2 router that I had as an access point and it also gives me switch capabilities for wired systems as the FIOS router in on a different floor than the Linksys router. Wired access works just fine and the wireless worked fine until just recently.Since both routers have the same default IP addresses I changed the Linksys to a different static IP and turned off DHCP. I left all of the other defaults the same. I set up the Linksys for WEP and created the key for security. Everything worked fine for the better part of a year, but recently I am having problems where some of the computers cannot find the network or find it then lose connection.

Currently everything is working fine, but I've forgotten how to configure the router for this purpose, and I can't find instructions in the user's guide online. I seem to remember it being troublesome. I know I have to assign a different IP address (currently I'm using 192.168.1.113.) What other settings (if any) need to be changed?
