How To Configure Wireless Access Point To Linksys Router
Jan 18, 2011
How do I configure my Linksys N Router for a Netgear Wireless N Access Point set in repeater mode? Linksys and Netgear are communicating, but no Internet access is available on Netgear which makes me think I need to configure Linksys to provide Internet connectivity to the Netgear access point repeater.
I would like to configure it as an access point on my LAN, similar to the way my WAP55AG works. My research on the Internet and on these forums indicate that I have to disable DHCP on the router as well as use the LAN ports to connect it to my network.I am able to turn off DHCP, but assigning it a static IP address is challenging.I can set the IP address, but I am unable to set the subnet mask to 255.255.254.0 as I am only getting a set of SM in a drop down list whick are all 255.255.255.x
how to access an E1550 wireless router's settings and configure it to connect to my wireless DSL router? The DSL phone line is not located anywhere near my TV/DVR/Roku and I'd like to connect them wirelessly to our DSL router. The E1550 is next to the TV/DVR/Roku.
I'm very dissatisfied with the range and signal strength of my new WRT610N dual band router compared to the WAP54G Access Point I used before. Can I configure the Access Point as a repeater for the 2.4 GHz band on the WRT610N if I use the WRT610N as a Wireless G router rather than wireless N?Â
How do I connect and configure my WAP54G wireless access point to my new Cable Modem? I have it connected to the modem but I cannot access it to configure it. It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. With my new ISP, I no longer have a static IP address so I am trying to configure the WAP54G to use DHCP. Trying to access it thru the internet at 192.168.1.245 does not work.
i have just connected my linksys e2000 to the internet now i would like to set it up so other computers can connect to the internet through it wired/ wireless
I don´t really have the RJ45 cable, how to configure it as an access point wirelessly? I mean, just by entering the main menu with the default ip address.
I'm trying to access the WAP200 for the first time. Instructions say Configure your PC to have the static IP address on the same subnet as the Access Point's default address (http://192.168.1.245). So I assumed i would go to TCP/IP properties and type in IP address and subnet mask and the Utility would open.
I have a wrt54gx2 with srx 200 technology recently purchased. I havetwo cabled computers attached. One at one end of the house attached tothe router by ehternet cable, the other attached about 100 ft by ethernet cable. The wireless does not reach to the other end of the house, most likley because that part of the house is an addition with masonary walls and a large masonary firplace. I bought a wap54g access point at the recommendation from someone at linksys to attach to the end of the ethernet run. Since my set up is macintosh, I can't use the wizard disk that came with the wap54g. Linksys support was not support( not expected), I need to know what to do to get this up and running. I am new to this stuff and Linksys get the wireless router with ethernet installed and up and running with my dsl. I thought the same for the wap54g.
I just took over a position where I had to reset a WAP54G because no one knew the encryption key. In working with some of the wireless access points in the past, I know that they came with setup or utility software to find and configure. where I can get a copy. I couldn't find it on Linksys' site.
i have 2 linksys modems wag120n and wag320n.i am using wag320n as my primary modem and i want to set up wag120n as an access point to provide internet access in another room. what should be the configuration of wag120n?and yes i have read all the post about this subject and tried it all but since there was no actual solution for this problem i decided to open a new post.
I want to know how to configure wireless access point because i got new internet connection in my home i want to share connection with my nighbour so we bring TP-Link wireless access point bought one cable wire connect with switch and another one connect with TP-LINK access point, but it is not working .now we dont know how it will be work.
i have a LAN network between several pc's connected with several switch's and connected to Thomson SpeedTouch 510 DSL Router its ip address is 10.0.0.100 subnet 255.0.0.0 and the router dont give auto ip to the PCs i have to issign it manually to the PCs "static ip".I bought the acer android recently so i bought a tp-link td-w8901g wireless router to act as an access point so i connected the 2 routers to each other by LAN and gave the tp-link an ip address 10.0.0.12 subnet mask 255.0.0.0 so it will be the same ip range of the speedtouch and setuped the tp-link router to fit my isp configeration it worked at first but i had to reset the router so i did the same configuration i did before but didnt work and i cant access the internet using the android or the wireless but when i connect the phone to the tp-link and unplug the speedtouch the wireless works so theres no any problem with the router?
I am trying to configure Cisco 887-W ISR but have hit a stumbling block when trying to configure the wireless access point- or at least the advanced features of the access point using the URL referenced in from the cisco GUI configuration utility (Cisco Configuration Professional ). I do recall previously reading a post which referenced a different URL.
I am attempting to configure a Aironet 1042N AP From my understanding it does not have an IP out the box. I attempted to access the console which I can view it booting up but then it hangs on.
Region : UnitedStatesModel : TL-WDR4300Hardware Version : V1Firmware Version : 3.13.23 Build 120810 Rel 44064nHow do I configure the TP-Link N750 wireless router model TL-WDR4300 as an access point so that computers/nodes on the WAN, LAN and wifi connections of this device are all on the same network/subnet?From the admin browser page, disabling DHCP and NAT does not provide the desired results.
I have a FIOS setup with their Router/modem providing DHCP and Wireless routing. The problem I have is that I have a mix of older equipment and newer equipment. The newer equipment is capable of supporting WPA2, the older is not. I would like the benefits of WPA2, but still would like to at times be able to use the older equipment. My solution was to use a WRT160N v2 router that I had as an access point and it also gives me switch capabilities for wired systems as the FIOS router in on a different floor than the Linksys router. Wired access works just fine and the wireless worked fine until just recently.Since both routers have the same default IP addresses I changed the Linksys to a different static IP and turned off DHCP. I left all of the other defaults the same. I set up the Linksys for WEP and created the key for security. Everything worked fine for the better part of a year, but recently I am having problems where some of the computers cannot find the network or find it then lose connection.
I'm currently using my WRT320N router as an access point (connected to another linksys router), but I've lost my username and password to access the web-based utility. So I need to press the reset button and set it up again. Currently everything is working fine, but I've forgotten how to configure the router for this purpose, and I can't find instructions in the user's guide online. I seem to remember it being troublesome. I know I have to assign a different IP address (currently I'm using 192.168.1.113.) What other settings (if any) need to be changed?
"Can I get my E2100L to receive a wireless signal from a different model Wireless Router and repeat it via wireless and Ethernet. Yes or NO?" Â Â - If so, how, if u need to user guide here:Â E2100L User Guide
I am using a newer wireless router but would like to use my older wrt54g router as an access point (wired and wireless) at the other end of my house. how to do it, and what the specific settings should be, especially the security settings. I can connect the wrt54g via a homeplug (cannot run a LAN cable). I had previously tried an Aztech wireless homeplug but found the security feature to be worthless and everyone was able to "break-in".
Can the EA6500 be set up as an access point connected to a remote router which has a connection to the DSL modem?I want to replace one of my wireless access points with a faster wireless interface, but this will be connected via hard wire CAT-5 cable located away from my modem/router.
I have a Cisco RV082 and I would like to connect my E3000 to it and use it as just a wireless access point.  Is it possible to do this with the E3000 so the RV082 is providing the routing functionality?
I have a Router WRT160N and need to connect an Access Point using a wireless bridge (i.e. cannot use cable between router and AP). Which Linksys Access Point model is recommended to use with this router?(No I dont want to use another WRT160N with DD-WRT!)
I have a WRT 160n I want to use as an access point. Â The cable company has provided the main router so I want to use the 160 as the access point. Â I have a switch attached to the router and have the 160 attached to the switch. Â I can ping and access the 160, however there signal strength has not changed and is still extremely low. Â I know that the strength on the router is very good when I plug it in to the cable modem.
i am thinking of buying Linksys x2000 , WAG160N or any other you suggest to use as a wireless access point. Is it possible? My setup is : I get my internet from my neighbor by ethernet cable from his router. My house is two-storied and ethernet cable comes to top left corner of first floor and the devices(two notebook) are on the bottom right corner at the second floor , insulation greatly reduces the signal strength.
We're trying to connect our Linksys E3200 via ethernet wire to an existing company network that already has a router and switch - it will simply be connected to a port on our switch, and needs to function as an access point only (no DHCP, no routing, no NAT, etc.).Â
