View 5 RepliesI justed purchased a Linksys E3200 router to replace my old router that gave up the ghost. I have it paired with a Motorola 2210-02 DSL modem. The software that came with the router has created two networks but is unable to connect to the internet. I have tried on both my PC and MacBook Pro and niether work. I have the modem connected directly to my Mac and can get to the internet, so I know the modem is working correctly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI cannot figure out how to connect my Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless Hotspot router to my Motorola 2210 Wired Modem. I am posting while connected directly to the 2210 vial Ethernet cable. When I connect the cables between the linksys and the moto the light on the front says it sees the internet; however, I cannot ping anything except myself and it. I cannot figure out how to get either to recognize the other. My ISP is AT&T DSL. My modem is using PPPoE with both a user name and network password to access the internet

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not that great at networking, I'm pretty much a novice but I'm trying to connect a modem and router to my computer but get around bridging the modem if possible. You see, I am working with AT&T and their dsl modem access page only works for me if the modem is unbridged. If I bridge the modem, I cannot get on the page again to unbridge it while I am trying to hook up my router. When I need them to unbridge the modem, I have to stay on hold for hours. One guy even told me that he did unbridge the modem, but since my internet persisted not to work, he told me my ethernet card went bad of a sudden on my computer. I knew this was incorrect so after a few more hours on hold, I had a lady debate with me that she was not unbridging my modem since it was my ethernet card that was bad and not the bridging. Finally, laughing to herself, she unbridged the modem for me and it worked
Here is what I have: My modem is a Motorola 2210 Style: MSTATEA My router is a Linksys WRT120N
As of right now, I just have a LAN with my modem plugged in through an ethernet cord to my PC. Is there a way of me hooking up my Linksys router to my modem and PC without bridging the modem? If so, where can I find out instructions for this?
I've been trying to port forward my modem and router for Xbox 360 live. Only problem is, I know absolutely nothing about networking or configuring modem / router settings.Anyhow, I was told to put my modem into Bridged Ethernet mode. I tried, then I couldn't even connect to the internet anymore.my router model is a Belkin F5D7234-4 V5. My modem is a Motorola 2210-02-1006.

I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem. I bought recently a new router, and when I try to connect to the settings on it on http://198.168.0.1 it sometimes works, mostly doesn't. When I ping other devices which are connected it, it's the same; sometimes get a response, mostly I don't. The router model is: TP-LINK 150Mbps Wireless N Router TL-WR740N, The thing which it's connected to is entitled "ADSL2+ Ethernet bridge router" That aforementioned thing is suppoused to be a modem. But, when I try to connect to its settings from http://10.0.0.138 , I'm able to, and other who are connected to the network give response to a ping.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a Cisco-Linksys E3200 8 months ago and it worked well until last month. I usually power down the router after midnight & power up in the morning and evevry time it can connect to internet through DSL modem without problem until this Feb. Most of the time after powering up the router it just can't connect to internet anymore. I am sure the AT&T DSL modem is working. I have to reboot/reset the router & DSL modem several time to get router to connect to internet again. The order of resetting/rebooting DSL modem & E3200 router seems to make no difference. It just appears suddenly the router can connect to internet by chance. I changed router IP and it didn't work either. It's really annoying becuase I have to spend 10~40 minutes to resetting/rebooting DSL modem & router to get internet connection every day.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting decent signal through my 3 story home with my new router, however, there are some dead spots on the 3rd floor.
This is my setup:
1. WNDR-3700 Router on main floor
- TV is hooked up router (internet tv)
- VOIP modem hooked up to router
- USB drive hooked up to router for transferring files from computers upstairs to router USB driver
So basically, the router MUST stay where it is. I'm wondering if it's possible to WIRELESS-LY connect my WNDR-3700 router to another BELKIN wireless router. possible at all?
WRT610v2 running latest firmware.
xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.
My gf's Mac and my other brand new computer with W7 won't connect to a new SMC8014WN router we got from our supplier.I was able to hook up my Wii, Iphone and laptop, plus two cable based computers without problem.I tried going to the router IP and enabled Wireless but they are still not allowing access on the 2 mentioned wireless computers. The network shows up, but typing in the password and says "Unable to connect to Network." Also tried the on/off for 10 seconds with the router obviously.
