We tried some time ago getting David's XP notebook and his Win7 desktop to share the Internet connection that his desktop has via an ADSL modem and telephone line.We wanted to get the two PCs to communicate with each other via the Wi-Fi adaptor card in the desktop and the built-in Wi-Fi adaptor in the notebook and then to share the Internet connection. We had no success.Last weekend we tried to get David's Win7 laptop and Win7 desktop to share the Internet connection that his desktop has. No success again. At the moment each computer lists the other one in its "My Computer" page.he TrendNet Wi-Fi software in the desktop indicates that it has 100% signal strength from the laptop. Both computers are set to "Home" type networks. We can start a Home Group on either computer but cannot get the other one to join - an error is reported. We use the correct password when trying to join - the password displayed by the other computer when its Home Group is created. We cannot get the ICS service to stay started. After attempting to start it an error is reported that says "ICS service started and then stopped".
I've used Wireshark sniffer and one of the outputs was there was a loop, wireshark produced a mac address lets say its asdfgh so I looked it up on my core switch but there is no asdfgh on it's mac address table.
Problem is that at some C65K I have directly connected Unix servers and the don't show MAC address at port, and same has happened at 3560 switched where I have too Unix based equipments connected. When use show mac-address interface XXXX, nothis appears at port and tested them with other equipments that worked fine.
I am able to connect to my wifi but it shows LIMITED ACCESS and it show no internet access.I also tried to manually enter the same IP ADDRESS of another laptop by which i was able access Internet through the same wifi.
I've been "borrowing" a neighbor's wifi for the past 2 months. Everything was fine..a few hang ups here or there but other than that, no problem. The other night, my connection disconnected and i haven't been able to reconnect to the network for the past 24 hours.. The network is on the list of available networks. It's open, always has been. When i click it to connect, nothing happens. I've tried repairing the connection, turning off and on my radio signal
I am having this problem on my acer intel core i3 laptop I think my Network adapter is corrupt I cannot connect to my Netgear(home) router anymore... I use to be able to troubleshoot/diagnose and fix the error but now it doesn't fix it anymore.Wireless works though...the problem only occurs when I plug a network cable into the NIC... I have tried other network cables and the router at work but it gives me the same error.things I have tried to fix NIC that did not work
cmd- iprelease/renew changing things in the registry changing mac address updating netgear firmware updating NIC driver uninstalling the bonjour service
I have tried putting the ip address...dns in manually?i am running on windows 7?
we recently got a new router and added it to our network... works fine the problem now is that i'm trying to add some other ip addresses to access wireless internet (for security reasons the wirless internet is available only to one set of ip addresses) but now that i try to access the router config to get that ip address in i cant access the router config. i try multiple addresses but still nothing. i try to find the ip using cmd but it just gives me tunnel 000000000
I've recently spotted my router's configuration page is shown publicly if they connect to external ip or a domain name I've set up to my own IP through a web browser (it's a game server)I see it as a security thread, that everybody can connect to my router's configuration page and want that down asap!
By reruning discovery with new seeds etc I have more devices discovered. Howeverr they are not shown in the inventory, only in the Device Discovery Summary however.
Last two weeks, I have had a problem connecting to public hotspots. My own WiFi network is fine, but while I am connected to any public hotspot I get the 'no internet access' message on the wifi symbol. While connected to my own network, ipconfig/all shows that I have an Autoconfiguration IPv4 address in the (correct) 192 range - but when connected to a hotspot, the address is in the 169 range, or occasionally (as in the instance below) in the 10 range. Clearly this is the problem, but I cannot figure out what has caused it. Is it hardware? Software? Malware? Or user error?I have run the Wireless Test and the log results are pasted below.
I would like to configure a Management ip address on 6500 by giving ip to the SVI. Following is the configuration done
1) int vlan X ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0 no shut
However i am not able to reach this Switch IP from other subnet's. for ex:- 192.168.1.0/24.What next configuration should be done, in order to make this work. I dnt want to use any routing protocol.
In an IPSec port to DUT scenario, with Mode-Config set so as the DUT sends the IP address to the port, I get to a situation in which the DUT continuously enter the "Need config/address" state for the port, even if the port sends its ACK packet to every set IP address from the DUT.
The DUT is a Cisco 6500 Version 12.2 (33) SXI3, having Mode-Configuration configured to provide clients with IP addresses from a local pool. I enabled the "debug crypto isakmp" on Cisco, and below is an extract form the log file:
5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Need config/address /* My comments here: This is the first Address configuration message from Cisco to port */ 5d23h: ISAKMP: set new node 1768971286 to CONF_ADDR 5d23h: ISAKMP: Sending private address: 94.94.0.164 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653): initiating peer config to 171.159.1.113. ID = 1768971286 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653): sending packet to 171.159.1.113 my_port 500 peer_port 500 (R) CONF_ADDR 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Input = IKE_MESG_INTERNAL, IKE_PHASE1_COMPLETE 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Old State = IKE_P1_COMPLETE New State = IKE_CONFIG_MODE_SET_SENT
above debug messages that Cisco produces I can not realize why Cisco resends the IP adderss configuration message for remote peer. Any other methods to use so as to get the reason behind this behavior? Or any explanation to the above behavior?
My wlan card has been dodgy recently disconnecting and reconnecing but now does not work at all. It is no longer shown in device manager I installed the drivers for it from the disc that came with it and ones from the internet but no luck from what I've read online it says my laptop (advent 9617 - ancient i know) came with the Ralink RT73 USB Wireless.
It also keeps popping up "this device can perform faster is you connect to a high speed port" I took off the casing to have a look at it and I can't see any dodgy wires or connections unless its somewhere I can't see or get to. I just took it out and put it back in but no luck.
I can still get on through wired LAN but live in shared accomodation and it's a bit inconvenient when I'm trying to work. Oh and there's no router problems as my phone and housemates laptops connect fine.
I've been having some problems with my Ethernet connection lately.I unplugged my laptop from the Ethernet connection I had at my old place. At two different locales, I have tried to use an Ethernet connection in order to get better speed (the wireless at the first locale was non-existent and at the second it is extremely slow in my room). I have done so with two separate cables that I have tested on others' computers and found that they are perfectly fine. That, of course, leads me to believe that it is my computer and is either a hardware or software problem (here's hoping it's the latter).Anyway, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 (purchased in 2006). About a year ago, I updated to Windows 7 from the pre-installed Vista. Never had any problems (as I said, everything was fine up until about a week ago). The installed card is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Everything under Device Manager indicates that the hardware is working properly and has all of its drivers installed, but nothing is working.I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers (albeit by allowing windows to find them automatically), but the result is the exact same.I have checked the port and found that there is no debris or obstructions. My computer hasn't been dropped or mishandled in any way.I'm currently being housed on the campus of Delta State University, which is why this appears, but here is the report: [code]
I replaced old cisco router 2811 with new one 2921 , all works except crypto map VPNs routers can ping each other , ACLs are not applied to outbound interfaces show crypto isakmp sa is empty after i make same configuration on a new router 2921 config.
How can I configure the wireless not to be shown for users, but used by them? On a Cisco 1242AG I mean when someone do a wireless discovery not see my wireless name, but typing the name be able to connect it.
I have a recently-purchased Inspiron 6000 running Windows 7. I have set up a home wireless network on a wireless router (D-Link) but it does not show up under wireless network connections (others in the neighbourhood do). It does appear however under "Manage My Connections", where it is listed correctly to automatically connect. The SSID is not hidden. Network adapters in the Dell are all reported as working normally, and the drivers are also reportedly up to date. Wireless networking is switched on.
I think, the device's DHCP server can not be configured as expected.
My plan was to set the following preferences: DHCP IP Address Range: 192.168.100.1 to 254 Default Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 Default Wins: 192.168.0.1 Default DNS: 192.168.0.1
But all I get is the error message, if I try to save these settings: The start host id of lease pool should be small than the end host id.
I have DHCP server running in windows 2003. Presently its unable to provide Ip address for VPN clients who connect remotely. What I should do / reconfigure in DHCP, so that the DHCP server provides address for VPN clients.
I have a Cisco 1841 router with Fa0/0, Fa0/1 and Se0/0/0:0 interfaces. Fa0/0 is facing the LAN. At the moment WAN interface is Se0/0/0:0. It has following configuration:
If I look at a site like wikipedia for example ,it has lots of text. If I capture those packets which made up that page using wireshark I cant find that text anywhere no matter what filter I use and even though I turn on ASCII. Is it because text is being rendered unreadable by some kind of compression?
I got a Cisco C880 router( IOS version: 15.1(2)T1 ) with PCEX-3G-HSPA-G card installed When I insert my 3G card and issue show cellular 0 network, I found that the network is not my 3G card ISP, may i ask how can I manual select the ISP?
I am administrating a wireless network consisting of 11 APs, ASA 5510, WLC 4402 and Router 1760.The network is sharing an internet connection to all guests without charge so I have no need for authorisation of guests.I would like to implement a splash page that would be shown to all clients when they first connect. The splash page is supposed have only the basic information about the provided service and no logon. Is there a way to do this without purchasing an ACS?
I'm trying to boot this IOS on a 6506-E, s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI8.bin.
This is what I see in bootvar.
sh bootvar BOOT variable = disk0:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI8.bin,1;disk0:s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122-18.SXF8.bin,1; CONFIG_FILE variable = BOOTLDR variable = Configuration register is 0x2102
Standby not ready to show bootvar, I want to remove SXF8 and leave SXI8 alone. I removed both IOS file names in boot system and added the SXI8 again and saved. So this would be the output after.
But after a switch restart, this would be the output of show bootvar again.
sh bootvar BOOT variable = disk0:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI8.bin,1;disk0:s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122-18.SXF8.bin,1; CONFIG_FILE variable = BOOTLDR variable = Configuration register is 0x2102
Is there anything I need to check? This is an old engine and I'm not sure if the variables of the RP modified .
I've got a new 5508 wireless lan controller and can ping the ip address of the management interface, but can't access the GUI at the management interface's ip address. I can access the GUI on the service-port interface. No static routes in the controller; trunk appears to be set up correctly.
we just replace 6500 with N7K, after migration there're some device (server,pc,printer) change its ip address configuration (subnet and gateway) by it self. can N7K did it?
