I live in UK and there is this game that I used to play that has a region IP block so I have to use Hotspot shield to play,but now my internet doesn't connect to Hotmail or this forum unless hotspot shield is turned on. The internet still works in safe mode with networking, and Windows can't find a problem at all. I've run Avast and Spybot in safe and normal mode and they can't find anything. Reset the browsers and my IP address. Friend downloaded Winsockfixer or something and that didn't work either. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall Windows? My computer is an HP Pavilion with Windows 7.

the computer in question has had repeated problems and various hardware issues and has been sent out for repair on more than one occasion all for non software related issues, i take care of software issues and diagnose hardware problems and i have done so without a hitch until now.
when the problem first started happening i would do a system restore to a point were it was working, but that does not seem to be working anymore
i have tried disabling firewalls [she uses AVG internet security edition which is on all of her computers], windows firewall, disabling and re-enabling network drivers, updating drivers, installing different and previous versions of browsers

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. When I run the automatic troubleshooter, it does not detect any problems with the connectivity.

When we configure with the ip on wan 1 and connect the SG300 the WAN Status shows connected but no internet connection. The wan ip doesnt work. If i replace the RV042G with a Netgear Firewall router The connection works fine with the WAN IP.
The network connection is very simple. What is that is not letting RV042G work with SG300?
I have a laptop that I take to work, and would like to set things up to use my home internet connection from elsewhere. I don't have another computer to function as a server for me at home, so would like to do it so that my router alone provides this access (log into it from the internet anywhere and use my internet as if I am using it from home). When i first got my comp, i didn't have the money for a long ethernet cable, so my friend gave me his wireless adaptor. My roommate's laptop connects to it with max bars. So, i got my old usb adapter, which works fine on my desktop(i tested it), and it cant make the laptop use the adapter instead of the built in wireless adapter.
