View 1 Replies View RelatedI found intermittent link down(20~40 seconds average) occurred about 1~10 times every month. SAP reported a lot of active connections are disconnected and I used a batch to ping and found "requested time out" about 30 seconds. And Windows, SQL server, Nexus 5010 do not show any errors. We run cluster and cluster does not fail over. And I don't know which cables or nics cause this issue. When it happened, almost all servers are unreachable. For example, SQL server 1 -> SQL server 2, IBM HS22-1 -> SQL server 1. However, some connections are not dropped sometimes. It varies each time.PS: I run this topology last year without any problems but it started intermittent link down from 2011/1/7. Because there is no errors in Nexus 5010, it is difficult to troubleshoot. Cisco TAC recommended us to implement virtual port channel yesterday. Could I use "errdisable detect cause" to detect what caused the intermittent link down? Is there any error logs or switch parameters/status can use to troubleshoot?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, my internet was working perfectly and I closed my computer lid before going to sleep as usual. This morning, I wake up to use my computer and the internet isn't working. I check the icon at the top and instead of showing an empty wireless meter with an X over it, it shows a computer and a cable with an X over it, which isn't normal. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5532 with a built in wireless adapter and it has a button near the power button that turns the adapter on and off. I decided to turn it off, give it a while, and turn it on, but that didn't fix it, so I restarted the computer.
Now, when I try to turn it on an off, it gives the wireless symbol with a circled X over it. I have checked the device in Device Manager to see if it is working and it says it is working properly. So I uninstalled it, restarted and the computer automatically installed software like it should, but that didn't fix it. I tried a System Restore, but that didn't work as well. Another thing I should mention is that I have tried rolling back the driver (which didn't fix anything), then I updated it, which also didn't fix anything.
Is there anything else I should try? The only thing Diagnostics can detect is an unplugged cable, but it's built in, so it doesn't require a cable (I've had it for >1 year and this is the first problem I've had).I downloaded Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and it says no wireless adapters can be found.
I finished building my computer today, installed a fresh os and all the necessary drivers that came with the dvds provided, yet the wireless card doesn't even appear anywhere in the computer. The ethernet cabled one does, but not the wireless. Trying to connect to anything wireless just gives an endless searching process, with no results. I can't test the ethernet either, my router is all the way into the living room, way far out of reach.
Specs:
MB: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
GPU: Asus 6870 HD
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955
I don't think anything else is necessary, is it?
i just bought a new desktop and my problem is as stated in the title. I cant detect my own modem but i can detect others.

View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning 2k on a older Laptop, running the manufactures (Ralink RT2870 chipset) utility for a USB wireless stick causes issues so I want to try using Windows wireless utility. Problem is, I can't find how to use it. I have it running under Services. The supplied utility & drivers are installed, but I stopped loading the utility since it causes the PS2 mouse to stop responding as soon as the utility loads. The stick connects and does work, but I have no control over it without running the utility.
I tried another no name sticks software (the exact same stick, but under a different name) but it has a overly complex utility (and a newer driver), but it causes the Laptop to lock up completely.I never used a USB wireless stick before and never used wireless anything in 2k when I use to run it 6 or 7 years ago. The Laptop isn't for me.Does 2k have the ability to run a wireless device with its own utility as it does in XP, or is this because it is a USB stick, not a PCI card where the problem is?
I got a new laptop l and it asked for the p number under the router. I gave the number and it changed my unsecured router to a secured one. Not how do I get the password and the security key.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a factory refurbished E1200. The label on the bottom says it is a Version 2 model. When I purchased it, it was loaded with 2.0.02 firmware but I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.04.My problem is that I'm trying to setup MAC address-based restrictions thru the manual/web-based setup and when I click on the "Access Restrictions" tab, I only have simple "Parental Controls" and not the advanced "Internet Access Policy".Is it possible that I have a mislabeled V1 device? If that is the case, how is it that I was able to upgrade the firmware using firmware from the V2 downloads section.
Do V! and V2 units use the same firmware but more importantly, how do I upgrade the built-in software so that I have the advanced "Internet Access Policy" controls?
I saw it's possible to use an USB drive/stick with the builtin FTP server to allow file access.Would it also be possbile to have the router function as webserver for external access from USB ? Just simple web functionality needed, no php or MySQL.Don't want to be running an extra machine 24x7 just to serve some html code.

I have a Lenovo G550 laptop with Windoows 7. For the past year it has been periodically (every 5-10 minutes) losing connection with a wireless network. It doesnt matter what network I use , it does the same thing. When the connection is lost it will also cause any other wifi devices (computers, phones) to lose there connection and have to reconnect. I have tried just about anything and everything including using an external usb wifi.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U310. I'm very satisfied with everything about it... except for one little problem. It constantly drops the wireless connection, unless I'm in the same room as the router. If I'm in the same room, everything runs super fast, however, if I'm across the house or upstairs (the router is downstairs), it'll drop connection every 20-30 minutes. The weird thing is, other devices (4 laptops & 3 iPhones) work just fine. Even my old HP laptop has fine connection upstairs, so I'm starting to think it's a problem with my laptop's wireless card.Another thing that makes me think it's the laptop's problem... I was with my dad at a public library using their wifi the other day. The card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200. I've updated the driver directly from the Intel website, but no luck. I've tried changing channels, no luck. I'm not sure what else I can do. Is it just simply because the laptop has a weak wireless network card? It can't be the router's problem right? Since all other devices work?I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5, and since the laptop is new, I haven't downloaded/installed anything that may have brought in a virus.

Laptop - Lenovo Ideapad Z560
Win7 Home premium 64 bit, i3 processor 2.27 GHz
I have below setup.
1. Comcast cabel modem with highest speed of 8Gb.
2. Linksys E1000 router
3. three devices-- Lenevo W500 laptop(2 years old), Nook(latest) and Lenevo G550 (6months old)
4. Earlier I had WRT54G router and all were working fine.
Now, I replaced WRT54G with E1000 router and symptoms are below.
a) on my W500 laptop, it works fine with Wired connection but when I switch to wireless, the internet speed reduces drastically in 10 minutes and finally crawls..
b) other devices (nook and Lenevo G550 are working fine withwireless)
Called Linksys support and they blamed on laptop and comcast cable.
I have Lenovo N100 , today i installed a new xp window but after that my laptop is not detecting network.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced an older linksys router with an EA4500. Everything is working fine except for a Lenovo Thinkpad we have. The Lenovo will drop the wireless connection and the only way to reconnect is to disconnect the wireless and reconnect on the Lenovo. With the previous router the Lenovo did not have this issue. There are a number of Apple devices also on the network that do not have this issue either. I've updated the wireless NIC drivers on the Lenovo to the latest and greatest, no changes. Again, problem started when the EA4500 was added.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Lenovo y560. One of the members here had the same prob. but his thread is closed,so i can't write him anymore. PM also doesn't work.[URL]"...I have a Lenovo Y560 that worked fine up excepting a keyboard issue that I fixed based on a youtube posting. The fix was to tape a small piece of antistatic tape under the keyboard over a screwlike piece of metal. Apparently that metal was causing static by rubbing against the keyboard data cable. It fixed the problem. Previous to the fix, various keyboard keys prompted shortcut keys (maddening and couldn't type). After assembling the keyboard and the top of the keyboard pad (was very careful to not bring static and assemble properly), the wireless connection began to drop. I have another laptop (Asus) with a similar set-up but a Centrino wifi card (vs. Intel 1000 bgn for the Lenovo) and it was connecting to the wifi no problem. Often, I'll see a yellow sun symbol over the wifi bars or a blue animated circle or a red x. Changing the standard settings does not work. Attaching an ethernet cable brings up a perfect connection.
1) I've covered an antenna of some sort with the anti-static plastic (pea-sized piece).
2) My wifi card is bad and coincidentally went out when I fixed the other problem above.
3) When the keyboard problem existed, I hit a shortcut that reconfigured the wifi somehow (but it worked fine before I opened up the keyboard.
Recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y580 and performed a fresh install of Win 7 Premium 64-bit on a new SSD. Installed latest drivers for all hardware but discovered after the install that my wireless adapter wasn't able to find any wireless networks (it worked find under Windows 8 when laptop was first unboxed). My wired connection works fine though, I am able to connect up to my network without issue using a network cable. Also, I am able to connect to my home wireless network without issue using another laptop. In addition, the adapter icon in my tray shows a red-X on it. I've found many issues through web searches that suggest driver updates or hardware disable/enable steps but neither of these approaches have worked for me. I am holding off re-installing my OS until I've tried some more simpler and less time consuming options. [code] When I run a hardware test via the Intel Wi-Fi manual diags I get the following: "Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver".

I'm accessing the net through an old pci-e slot network card i found, and I'd really like to use the inbuilt gigabit port. The realtek drivers do not appear under device manager. I installed the latest network drivers from asrock - (Realtek Lan driver ver:7048 for 64-bit win 7), I tried various things I read online like removing the ram for a few minutes, disabling the NIC and sleep mode. I always get this message when installing the driver: "Realtek ethernet cable was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled plug the cable" I've done everything I've read online and from reformatting to removing the ram.In the bios, i made sure the adapter was enabled. another thing is that there is no light coming from the port when the lan cable is inserted into the port. there is a light from the pci adapter so i'm not sure if it's faulty. I've also checked that the cables are fine. I hooked them up to my macbook and ps3 and the network was fine.
