Aug 17, 2012Lost my internet connection to my Dell XPS 435t/9000 running Win7 (64) yesterday. Unable to restore. No know configuration changes other than the regular weekly window update. My service provider is Verizon FIOS and all there stuff checks out. My iMAC and Dell Laptop connect fine through the same devices (router/modem/switch).
The xps shows no hardware faults and all the wired connections are intact. Unable to ping router. Network Sharing interface shows good connections to switch and router by a bad connection between router and internet.
Ran WIN7 network troubleshooter and it just told me to contact ISP.Rebooted machine several times but no joy.

May 15, 2011Last night, my internet was working perfectly and I closed my computer lid before going to sleep as usual. This morning, I wake up to use my computer and the internet isn't working. I check the icon at the top and instead of showing an empty wireless meter with an X over it, it shows a computer and a cable with an X over it, which isn't normal. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5532 with a built in wireless adapter and it has a button near the power button that turns the adapter on and off. I decided to turn it off, give it a while, and turn it on, but that didn't fix it, so I restarted the computer.
Now, when I try to turn it on an off, it gives the wireless symbol with a circled X over it. I have checked the device in Device Manager to see if it is working and it says it is working properly. So I uninstalled it, restarted and the computer automatically installed software like it should, but that didn't fix it. I tried a System Restore, but that didn't work as well. Another thing I should mention is that I have tried rolling back the driver (which didn't fix anything), then I updated it, which also didn't fix anything.
Is there anything else I should try? The only thing Diagnostics can detect is an unplugged cable, but it's built in, so it doesn't require a cable (I've had it for >1 year and this is the first problem I've had).I downloaded Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and it says no wireless adapters can be found.
New Built Computer - Wireless Doesn't Work
Oct 7, 2011I finished building my computer today, installed a fresh os and all the necessary drivers that came with the dvds provided, yet the wireless card doesn't even appear anywhere in the computer. The ethernet cabled one does, but not the wireless. Trying to connect to anything wireless just gives an endless searching process, with no results. I can't test the ethernet either, my router is all the way into the living room, way far out of reach.

MB: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
GPU: Asus 6870 HD
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955
I don't think anything else is necessary, is it?

Apr 9, 2011Running 2k on a older Laptop, running the manufactures (Ralink RT2870 chipset) utility for a USB wireless stick causes issues so I want to try using Windows wireless utility. Problem is, I can't find how to use it. I have it running under Services. The supplied utility & drivers are installed, but I stopped loading the utility since it causes the PS2 mouse to stop responding as soon as the utility loads. The stick connects and does work, but I have no control over it without running the utility.
I tried another no name sticks software (the exact same stick, but under a different name) but it has a overly complex utility (and a newer driver), but it causes the Laptop to lock up completely.I never used a USB wireless stick before and never used wireless anything in 2k when I use to run it 6 or 7 years ago. The Laptop isn't for me.Does 2k have the ability to run a wireless device with its own utility as it does in XP, or is this because it is a USB stick, not a PCI card where the problem is?

When I purchased it, it was loaded with 2.0.02 firmware but I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.04.My problem is that I'm trying to setup MAC address-based restrictions thru the manual/web-based setup and when I click on the "Access Restrictions" tab, I only have simple "Parental Controls" and not the advanced "Internet Access Policy".Is it possible that I have a mislabeled V1 device? If that is the case, how is it that I was able to upgrade the firmware using firmware from the V2 downloads section.
Do V! and V2 units use the same firmware but more importantly, how do I upgrade the built-in software so that I have the advanced "Internet Access Policy" controls?

Oct 11, 2012I currently have 2 cisco aironet 1121G access points. Both of which I believe had an image fail during an upgrade from autonomous mode to lightweight mode. I have tried to reset these access points as directed from Cisco's instructions. I have done a reset (amber light on the middle) and a factory restore (red light in the middle) They go through the steps to restore to factory default, however, after what I believe is an attempt to pull a dhcp address before defaulting into 10.0.0.1 ip address, the access point restarts. This is happening to both of them. After they reset and go through the series of memory tests, I am able to get all three solid green lights, they stay lit for just 15 seconds (rather than 5 minutes so that i can load a new image) I am not sure why they are behaving this way. I have tried as many different possibilities resetting with the mode button. There is no console port on this model of access points so i am unable to manage it otherwise.

I did the firmware update on the E4200 router about 2 weeks ago so my son could use his xbox when he got home after 4 months of being away. Everything seemed to work OK as far as I could tell....but when he went to sign into xbox live and watch Netflix, it will load to 98% and stop. A friend of his came over with the new Slim xbox 360 with built in wireless and it will connect fine on its own, if we hook up one of the 610N's to it, it will load to 98% on Netflix and stop again with error code R8152. Both of my older xbox's will hook up and play on xbox live, just not work with Netflix.
I also noticed, it shows the WET610N as a hard wire on xbox and will not search for any wireless networks, I have 2. The newer Slim xbox360 will search out both networks on its own if you allow it to use its internal wireless. This only happened since the firmware update. And this equipment was working fine before this. Is there a way I can restore the previous version of firmware?

Since than, I had to restart it 3 times during the last 3 days.The firmware is 1.53.0, which seems to be the latest firmware for the European market - even when I try to get a newer firmware, this site only offers the US version 1.02.2.Should I update the firmware to the US version 1.02.2 ? Is there any difference between the 1.53.0 and the 1.02.2 version ? Is there a way to restore the original firmware in case the update fails ? I haven't found any link to 1.53.0 version..Also, does this firmware updating affect my warranty ?

Sep 30, 2012I built a pc asrock z77 pro3 mobo, i5 3570k 3.4ghz, ati 7950, 8gb kingston ddr3 1600mhz ram, corsair 650w psu, a hyper 212 evo and a 500gb hdd with a 128gb ssd all in a cm haf912 case.My problem is that everything works fine except for the inbuilt gigabit lan port. I'm accessing the net through an old pci-e slot network card i found, and I'd really like to use the inbuilt gigabit port. The realtek drivers do not appear under device manager. I installed the latest network drivers from asrock - (Realtek Lan driver ver:7048 for 64-bit win 7), I tried various things I read online like removing the ram for a few minutes, disabling the NIC and sleep mode. I always get this message when installing the driver: "Realtek ethernet cable was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled plug the cable" I've done everything I've read online and from reformatting to removing the ram.In the bios, i made sure the adapter was enabled. another thing is that there is no light coming from the port when the lan cable is inserted into the port. there is a light from the pci adapter so i'm not sure if it's faulty. I've also checked that the cables are fine. I hooked them up to my macbook and ps3 and the network was fine.

Jun 6, 2013I have had a replacement router sent out to me due to a fault with the AP.
It had a really old firmware on the AP, which I have updated. Using CCP, I have a wireless network running which is more than I had with the old router.
The issue I have is that there is no gui, just a webpage with a few lines showing commands etc.
I know tha CLI is probably more powerful, but I prefer a GUI.
Looking at the flash of the AP, there seems to be lots of files, which I imagine are part of the gui, so its really just a case of enabling it I would assume.

Dec 28, 2012I have no problems when the computer is connected to a router. That's how I'm posting here now. But my router is old and has no QOS. So the sound quality is choppy when I connect the phone to the router. So I tried connecting the phone directly to the cable modem, with the computer using the phone's router for internet. The phone's sound quality is great that way. But then the computer won't connect to the internet.When I hover over the network icon in the systray, it says "Local Area Connection 4 is now connected. Speed: 1.0 Gbps" The phone's router is a gigabit connection. So I think that tells me that the computer is seeing the phone/router and the cables are okay.I just tried to Repair through the network icon. It fails because it can't renew.
