I've just bought and installed a WAGN320N router and I have identified two problems:
1 - The router actively prevents me from using non-alphanumeric characters in both the admin password and the shared folders passwords, however such passwords are more secure and in most other places recommended. How do I switch off this restriction so that I can set a secure password?
2 - The Filename Encoding on the Storage>Administration page can't be changed. I have changed the drop down box to "Western Europe/Latin1" several times and then clicked "save settings", but setting always flips straight back to "USA" after saving.
The E3200 router supports DDNS updates to DynDNS.org but I'm unable to determine if the password is sent securely or not. According to their website, [URL] The API works over HTTPS and HTTP. How do I know which protocol is applied when sending the password?
i have a Linksys modem BEFSR81 v.3 and am trying to reset my wifi password for secure connection. When i log into the the admin page, to my surprise, I could not find the security feature to create WPA or WEP password. i'm stumped. This has never occurred to me before on this modem.
I can't be the only one who misplaced their Router's Password - How do I manage to 'connect' my new devices (Kindle Fire and new smart phone) to my router installed less than 2 years ago.
How do I set up a password to secure my home wireless network. Gate is on a XP desktop. Just have my Vista notebook on network. Use WCG200 gateway which was given to me by relative who has upgraded.
I've been using a WAG320N for a year or so. I just installed a harddrive to the router and am trying to access the harddrive. One thread I found here has instructions for a Mac. It requires me to login using my browser - 192.168.1.1 - and then logon using my username and password. Huh? What username and password? I have a username and password that I use to go pass the firewall for wireless and wifi connection. Is it the same? I tried it but it didn't work. Is there another username and password for the router? I can't remember what that is, if there was one in the first place. I tried the defaults - linksys and admin - and no joy there either.
I just recently bought a WAG160N and I have a big issue with it, I can't change the password for the default admin account. All I get is this error in the browser "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)"
Quick reset.Power cable disconnect for 60 sec.Factory reset followed by a reset of the router for 60 sec.Clearing my browsers cookies and internet temporary files.Only things I have changed is the Basic Setup to get connected to my ISP and the Wireless settings.
Details about clients, firmware versions etc.
Windows 7 build 7601 Service Pack 1 Chrome Browser 16.0.912.75 Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router V2 firmware version 2.00.20
I cannot access the Username and password on my WAG160N - the ones I thought were correct do not accepted, nor are the quoted 'defaults'.I have tried holding down 'reset' for 30 secs; I have tried powercycling the router after and during this; I have tried 'resetting' with the phone and ethernet connections unplugged. This is NOT returning the machine to the default settings - and neither is it 'wiping' the existing settings for my ISP.The amusing thing is - it works perfectly well, but I can't alter my security settings and I can't alter other settings if I change my ISP (as I was intending to do).
I have set up a Linksys WAG320N and while my Dell connects wirelessly my wifes Mac and my iPad do not. When we enter the password the response is that it is not correct.
Have been using the Router for four years, recently its started to lose "memory" re. my user name and password. Switching off overnight, I'm not able to connect to the internet until I login and fill in the two boxes for my ID & PW.
I have a new iPad and a new WAG160N. I've wasted many hours trying to get them to recognize each other, with no success.I can connect to the Internet OK but I can't get a connection to the Pad, as it won't accept my password. I can't find a solution here that I can follow for this model. Why won't my password (no unusual symbols, just 10 letters and numbers) be accepted?
We are using an ASA 5520, running 8.4(3). We have users running the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.02026. I have the AnyConnect connection profile configured to authenticate users using LDAP over SSL. I enabled the password management and am able to get password change prompts to appear in the AnyConnect client. However, new passwords are rejected and changing passwords through that prompt does not work. I'm not sure what the cause of the problem is, since LDAP over SSL is enabled and working, which is required for the password management feature
I have a Linksys WAG200G DSL wireless router and I recently got Network MAgic. When I am trying to connect to change the wireless settings, it always gives me the message that it cannot connect to the router no matter what password I enter! I even used really simple ones such as admin admin and It WONT connect. It gives me the message "Could Not Access Routers Settings". I have the ESET Smart Security AV & Firewall and I have properly configured them to allow communication of Network Magic. I should note that I CAN connect to the router through a browser.
I'm running Cicso AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v3.0.07059 for work. Attached is a sceenshot of my network connections. I'm currently hardwired on my network connection and the Cisco VPN is a virtual adapter but is shows "network cable unplugged."
Remove PPPoe settings on Vista. I uninstalled the att software but the pppoe settings remain and my computer says my network is unidentified and will only allow local connection. My XP computer had no problem making the change but the Vista one keeps saying it is an unidentified network. I have tried turning everything off and then restarting the cable and then the computer but it does not work. I have a wireless adapter and can connect the Vista machine to the network with no problem but need a wired connection for games I play so I need to fix the wired problem. I am sure the settings the ATT software changed is the problem but I don't know how to get into the system to fix the problem. There is no router involved. The router is built into the cable modem.
My friend walked in with his laptop and connected easily.Yet is said it was not a "secure" connection. How will I know if MY computer has a secure connection?
I have a model number BEFW11S4 ver 4 Wireless-B router that I got second hand. There is no setup CD. I need info about how to secure the network. Just simple password protection. I'm on an old Mac PowerBook G4 OSX 10.4.11.
I just moved in with my friend and i'm having trouble connecting to wireless router linksys WRT54GS2 V1. My roommate can connect his laptop and desktop to the router wirelessly, but my iphone and laptop can't connect. I've tried both of my devices on a wireless network at a friend's house, and both worked fine. We even changed AND removed the password and it doesn't let me log on the internet.
My ISP was unable to facilitate me, and neither was Linksys chat. I've searched and found many step-by-step guidesm kind of at my wit's end here.Right now when I connect wirelessly to the internet, it jumps on a connection labeled "linksys," which is my wireless router (BEFW11S4 ver. 4). It used to connect to "Jason" (me) but that's no longer a valid connection for some reason. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set my connection back up properly and secure it as my own.
Recently I had to reconnect my WRT54GS linksys router and now it is unsecure, obviously i know how to secure because i've done it before but it isn't letting me...Whenever I type 192.168.1.1 into my browser it will not load the page and it is really frustrating. I have also tried typing in my Default Gateway and ip address that I got from cmd/ipconfig and those will not work either..I'm not understanding why this wouldn't work, and yes my internet connection is fine and nothing is wrong with my browser..
I just moved and my set up disc for my WRT54GS2V1 is in some box in some abyss at this point. My network is not secure and I want to secure it. My linksys also runs my cable. How do I make my network secure? I have Vista (not sure that matters) and a PC. I tried to follow some instructions here but I typed in IP config in my top bar and didn't get any local address..
We have a linksys WAG54GS router the secure easy setup button of which was pressed instead of the on off switch when a reset was required. Now we can only browse the internet via a cable from the pc lan port to the router ethernet port. Things done :- Secure easy setup button held down for 10 seconds. Router went to an unsecured one now back to secure.
My linksys used to always connect toa secure network, (secure network does show up in network list) BUT the linksys will only connect to unsecure shown network. How do I get it back to connecting to the secure network?
I just installed my EA4500 router and it was amazingly simple. My only question is it shows two wireless connections available: The secured one I set up and the another network with the same name that says "guest" and is NOT secured. Is there a way to either disable the unsecured guest network or to secure the guest network?
I have been using a Dell desktop for many years now as my primary computer. Recently I received a brand new Sony VAIO laptop. So as to make the laptop connect to the internet wirelessly, I hooked up a Linksys router (Linksys model # BEFSR41) and a Linksys access point (Linksys model # WAP200). Everything is working flawlessly except for one big problem. My network is listed as "unsecure". What steps do I have to take to make my network "secure"? The operating software in the laptop is Windows Vista. How to make my network secure. Let me just mention that the laptop and desktop are home computers and are both primarily used for "fun and leisure". No business "stuff"
