Linksys EA2700 And Modem Is A Sagemcom 4300 - Connection Lost?
Jul 9, 2012
I have a double Nat problem with my modem acting as a router while it is connected to my router. This is a problem for me because I like to game online and a double Nat makes this difficult. I know the process of setting my modem in bridge mode but I have a few questions before I do so.
1. If I bridge my modem will this cause me to lose connection, if so then how do I get myself back online?
2. While bridging the modem does my router have to be set to any type of special configuration, if so then what do I do?
My router is a Linksys EA2700 and my modem is a Sagemcom 4300.
I used the CD to set up my new EA3500 with my Wild Blue Satellite internet modem. An IPhone or IPad can connect and work like a charm, remaining rock solid at all times. Windows 7 on the other hand, will work and then lose connection to the internet. The PC appears to remain connected to the EA3500, but the connection between the EA3500 and modem appear to be lost. I can click on the bar Icon at the bottom and it shows everything to be fine. I click on disconnect and then wait a few seconds and click on connect again and it works for a few minutes before having to do it again. When I look at the router properties the CD set it up for DHCP.
I have an Cisco EA2700 router and a Motorola SB6121 modem. If I'm connected to the router wirelessly or through any of the lan ports, I can't visit the modem's diagnostics page at 192.168.100.1. If I connect directly to the modem, it works fine. Also I cannot ping the modem through the router, just get a timeout. My ISP is Comcast.
I have an EA2700 (fimware "classic" 1.0.14.129982) that used to work perfectly fine with a Comcast cable modem. I just recently switched to Charter with an Arris TM902 modem and that's where the problems started. The cable modem will not recognize my router. I have to plug in a computer into the cable model when it starts up. Then I need to clone the MAC address and restart the router (after disconnecting the computer). Why isn't the cable modem recognizing the router when I restart it? I guess this could work if it would be a one time thing but I had to power-cycle the modem and it stopped recognizing the router even with the cloned MAC address. So I had to do the whole spiel again.
Is there any way to make this work easier? Should I update my router's firmware to the "smart" one?
I can't connect with my D-Link router 4300 to the modem. It's like my router doesn't recognize the internet connection of my modem because there is no available connection at all, for every single PC in my home ! When I connect a cable to my PC, it works. I can't see the problem because I can't even connect to http://192.168.0.1/. I tried many variations but nothing. It all started because I changed the WPA security to WPA2. Then it restarted my router and nothing worked after. I tried several times to reset my router with the reset button, but nothingHere is the ipconfig[CODE]
recently bought a new Linksys EA3500 that is connected to my SB5120 cable modem. For two weeks it's been running smoothly but when my cable modem is in need of a power cycle.I power cycle both the router and modem but my connection is lost. it's after countless hours of messing with the two I'll get the connection back but I'm afraid it'll lose connection again, that and I fear I may have enabled bad options.
i have a EA2700 router and I'm connectied wirelessly to my PS3. If i am not hosting a game i will be lagging all over the place yet it says i have full connection to majority of games that i connect to. i paid 115 dollars for this router and am very dissapointed that its doing this. Also no there is no way for me to connect wired to the router it is to far away. Also i tried bringing my ps3 to my friends house and played on his wireless connection and it worked perfectly so its deffinetly my router.
Im not able to conect to the internet threw my router, but i am able to with my modem. i dont want to pay for a new one and Cisco wants me to pay $30 for phone support.
I need to setup a secure connection between office and home network for backup files to a NAS
OFFICE LINKSYS EA6500 HOME EA2700 ROUTER both routers has VPN passthrough only office has windows server 2008R2 NAS is synology 212j both networks has dynamic ips and i have dyndns account
Cable modem connected directly to a Dell Vostro laptop works fine. Same cable reconnected to Dell Dimension 4700 is not working. This has all been working fine for years - usually I have a wireless network with the 4700 connected to the router by Ethernet cable, and the Vostro connected by wireless, but I have removed the router to close in on the problem.First, I am not sure if my ip settings are correct. This is the output from 'ipconfig /all' [CODE].
went through setup twice, double checked connections, bought new ethernet cable from router to computer, still not connecting. However when i go from my modem to computer i get connected. could i have a faulty router. the router is new from walmart the ea2700.
I have had my EA2700 for about 6 months now. Have had no problems until about a month ago. One night I could not get the router to connect to the internet. First thoughts were that the cable connection had gone down. When I finally started to trouble shoot I was able to confirm the cable connection is fine by connecting to the modem directly.
Out of the modem I am getting 14+ Mbps. (I only Pay for 10 So a plus there)
I could not get the router to connect to the internet. I ended up resetting the router and reconfiguring it. Ever since then I have been getting really unstable connection to the internet.
When I connect directly to the modem (cabled) I am getting a nice steady connection . When I add the router and hardware in I get a good connection only a Mbps or 2 drop off and a pretty steady connection. Then when I connect over WIFI I get a much larger drop off depending on if the device is a 2.4 or a 5
The connection is extremely unstable. The curve on the graph {URL} is very peaky and has extreme highs and lows. This is multiplied when running on the GHz (as my laptop runs on). My Iphone running on GHz. I can pull down 9 Mbps but the curve is still up and down. Iphone on GHz I barely get Mbps and it is extremely choppy on the graph.
I am able to back this up with my I PAD. I can only confirm the 2.4 number with the laptop as it does not have GHz radio in it. So every thing that us running on the 2.4 is getting poor connections.
I also suspect that the through put on the wired side is poor as well. I am unable to prove it as every test I run shows a good connection but netflix has been locking up and I have to restart what ever I am watching 2 to even 10 times a show. I need to do more testing to be sure the network or the devices are to blame.
I'm having a problem where my connection speeds slow down on my iOS devices. I have a EA2700 router. I have PC hard wired into the router, which maintains steady speed test numbers when other devices slow down.i have another pc that connects wirelessly (2.4 only) that maintained speed white the other devices slowEd down. Both my iphone5 and new iPad would slow down. The quick fix wasto turn the wifi on the device off, then the speed would return when reconnected. Also clicking "renew lease" in the iPhone wireless settings seemed to correct the issue.I'm not sure if there is a setting on the iOS devices or the router I can change to stop this.
Earlier today I attempted to change the setting on my Westell 6100 modem such that it would simply bridge the connection to my Linksys WRT54GS router, basically involving setting the router to bridge only and turning DHCP off. Now I no longer get an internet connection through my router when previously the connection had worked perfectly fine before. I following the steps of cloning the MAC address to the router and have done the proper resetting steps (computer, them router, then modem) but I simply can't get an internet connection through my router. The process to set up simple bridging from the modem what supposed to end up with the internet light no longer turning on but the light turned back on following one of the resets.
Currently, I can connect to the internet through the modem just fine but I get nothing when I include the router. I'm not sure if there are some other settings I'm supposed to be changing as I can't seem to find anything past what I've already done when researching online. At this point I would just be happy reverting the settings I've changed but I don't know how to access the modem now that DHCP is off.Basically, I'd prefer to be able to get the router working with these new settings but if that proves too difficult (as I've heard it can be when trying to get Westell modems to work with Linksys routers) I'd like to learn how to access the modem and change the settings back to what they were (preferably in as simple terms as possible as I don't particularly understand what a lot of these settings/configurations do).(And a bit of an aside, but I had attempted to do this modem bridging to "fix" perceived internet speed problems. I've been averaging around 300Kbps download rates ever since I've had this internet connection from Verizon when the supposed download rates should be between 1MB and 1.3MB. Doing this modem bridging had been reported to fix some modem/router conflicts and improved connection speeds for some.)
I have been using a WAG320N since January. Around a week ago I came home to find the unit attempting to reconnect every few minutes - the DSL light flashing but nothing happening.
I replaced with an old Belkin unit which worked fine straight away.
i have upgraded the firmware, which made no difference, and secondly, tried a brand new unit, which strangly had the same problem even though the ancient belkin unit works first time and my original cisco unit worked for a couple of months before failing.
Are there any settings that relate to the DSL connection that may have been reset on the original unit? Could this be an issue related to signal quality or anything similar?
I been using my WRT54G with no problems for 2 years now. I lost wireless. I have 1 pc wired to the router and it works fine, e-mail, accessing the internet, everything. But I have 6 wireless devices ( 2 PCs, a printer, Nintindo 3Ds, a laptop and a nook) that use the wireless part of the router at different times. Anyways, last night, one of the wireless PCs lost connection, not seeing the router. Then I checked with each of the other wireless devices. None of them see the router. I tried many different things: powering down the router for two hours, hitting the reset button for 30 seconds, I even uninstalled the router and re-installed it and ran the setup-wizard. Again the pc I have wired to the router works but none of the wireless devices can see the router.
after few years without problem with wifi connection at my home, four month ago began wifi lost connection.
4 iphone with assigned ip address; 3 Portable PC (2 with dhcp and N band, 1 with assigned ip with G band) Router is not too far from wifi equipment the wifi is protected with WPA-PSK
Often during day, on pc and iphone we have lost connection, we can see in settting the SSID of my wifi lan, but if we try to connect recive message:Unable to connect to casa(casa is my ssid), on router the wifi led is green fix (not blinking) and only after a few minutes or many try wifi return aviable (for all equipments at the same time and the wifi led blinking)If I want quick connection, without attempt, i simply power off router and after power on, the wifi connection begin aviable!
1. changed SSID, very different from other SSID of my neighbors;
2. changed class of ip address (from 192.168.x.x. to 10.16.x.x);
The problem: running a standard single band 2.4gz BT homehub. When using my xbox and wireless headset (razer chimeara) the xbox loses connection. When i tuen the headset off i no longer lose connection. This suggests to me that the headset is simply emitting on the same frequency and bullying the connection, thus the xbox disconnects I have purchased the wireless N adapter to allow the xbox to run on the 2.4 or 5ghz band. I am now looking for a duel band router to allow my xbox to connect to the 5gz band and hopefully this will rectify my interference issue with the headset. I have been lookijg at the e4200 as this supports seperate ssid for 2.4 and 5ghz band, so the xbox can run on the 5ghz and the intererence from the 2.4ghz headset should subside - do you think this would work? Also, with the single ssid duel band routers, where 2.4/5gjz share the same ssid - how would my wireless N devices know to run on the 5ghz and not the 2.4?
My router's wireless connection goes down intermittently, about once a day. I can access the network with a machine that has a hardwired connection to the router only. To get it back up I have to perform the following steps.1) Reset the router.2) Go to the router web page, http:\192.168.1.13) Set router name4) Set router password5) Set wireless network name6) set wireless network secuity mode: WEP7) set wireless network password
LinkSys WRT54G V3.1 router with firmware update V4.21.1
I switch on router and connect my iPad on router linksys cisco e2000. During 10 minutes, There is no problem. After 10 minutes, I have always the connection with my router but no internet. To Avoid this problem, i restart the router with switch and after, no problem. Do you have any ideas to avoid this lost connection after 10 minutes when I switch on my router.
My WRT54G lost the WiFi connection. I can get the internet if I connect the cable from my modem to my computer but my wireless connection is gone. So it's an issue with the router or settings. I called Linksys and was told the settings would have to be reset/updated. I was told there would e a fee. I did not want to pay a fee. I'd like to try to resolve myself.
I have the problem that my WUSB600N loses the connection to the internet after a few minutes. I boot the system and the wireless stick run impeccable. After a few minutes the windows 7 network icon show me a yellow exclamation mark and no more internet access is possible. When I unplug the WUSB600N from the system und plug it on again the internet connection is possible again and run then over houres without a problem.
Just bought a WRT400N and set it up using 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands, and using WPA TKIP for both. Problem is that both my laptop and my iphone occassionally lose connectivity and my iPhone says that my WPA key isn't valid.
I have the latest flash installed. I am making use of all the options available to this router. USB drive set up as a file server, both radio bands have devices which attach. All wifi security is wpa2 with a complex key string. Also have pc’s attached to all lan ports. I also have all the wireless devices registered on the mac address filter for access set to enable/allow. I have a total of 9 mac address in the list. One lan device is on the DMZ. One address is reserved. Not sure what other details you need.Router is used for online gaming, video streaming, and typical internet browsing.
My connection to Davis Instruments' WeatherLink had been working for many weeks, when my old WRT54G quite renewing DHCP leases. I've replaced it with a new E2000. All seems well. The Wifi network is working and my server resources to the outside are working. But the blasted WeatherLink software complains that it can't connect to to the interface box. This is a wired connection. The software finds the MAC address of the interface box and the assigned IP address, but "testing" the connection fails. I can ping the IP address of the interface box. The Davis people insist this is an issue with the router. The WeatherLink software uses a weird port: 22222 I didn't know there were ports with 5 digits. I've tried port forwarding this to the IP of the computer, but nothing changes. I think if I can ping the IP of the interface from the computer, communication should work.
I have been using the WUSB54GSC for several years with no issues until a few months ago. Periodically, it will lose connection to the network. It shows it is connected, but I can not ping the router or do anything else unless I reboot the computer. Thinking it was the WUSB54GSC (I had the Ver 1) I got a new one (a Ver 2). Same thing except now it seems to be happening more frequently (one time, less than an hour after rebooting). I have moved it to other USB ports, uninstalled and reinstalled it, everything I can think of.
I connected the Router to the modem, and all the wired connected PCs were working perfectly. But then, i went to the setup page to configure the Wireless settings, and as soon I changed the SSID name, the connection internet connection droppedThe only way i had to fix this was by making a Hard Reset.after that, I also tryed changing values and settings from all the configuration tabs, and the wired connection was working properly, but as soon i changed any value from the Wireless tab, the internet connection dropped (even, in the diagnostics section, i could not do a ping to google. It says unknown host).
I bought a new EA3500 too replace my old WRT120N. After I replace it with the same configuration as I had in WRT120N, my dongle Wifi WN100 (Atheros) stop working. Even it indicates that Wifi is connected and dispyed in DHCP current table, I can't ping the device from my PC connected to the router.I rolled back to my WRT120N and all works again.
I have an E1200 and am time out and packet loss issues. The internet connection is fine for 30 seconds to five minuets and then everything times out for 15-20 seconds. Although it’s only a minor incontinence to web browsing, it makes playing games and watching videos a nightmare. “Lost connection to server error.” and the like…
I upgraded to a new router, the e1200 I am currently using, from my Tenda 10/100 N. The problems where the same that I am experience currently and the reason I bought it in the firs place. When I directly connect to the cable modem, I have no issues and everything is fine.I have run a trace route and the second hop, (the router to the modem) is the choke point.I have cloned the MAC address.I have updated the firmware and hard reset
I have throttled my MTU to automatic, 1500, and 1472. None making any difference.I have disabled NAT and all that does is kill my internet connection.I have disabled all firewalls router and windows, no change.I replaced the physical wire from the router to the modem.I have disconnected all devices except one computer, and no difference.I ran a DNS trace and I have… non routable local internet address 192.168.1.1 DNS-cac-lb-01.rr.com and DNS-cac-lb-02.rr.com.I am using windows 7 and my ISP is time Warner so-cal.
