I have an RV042 Router and did a one-to-one NAT mapping for my server using an additional external IP I received from byt ISP, pointing to machine 192.168.2.5. I am now successfully able to access the machine via the external IP without issue, however the server is no longer able to ping any external IPs?
the machine has been assigned a static IP of 192.168.2.5 and static DNS servers.
My router is a Linksys BEFSR81.Recently I installed a proxy server and now I would like to setup my router so that only the proxyserver (HTTP traffic) can connect to the Internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BEFSR41 V2 router connected to a westell c90 modem and my provider is Bellsouth.net (AT&T). I have the modem set to PPPoE and DHCP enabled. I am using the router as a gateway. The router's status page indicates that is communicating with the modem. Release and renew works and I can detect the addresses of the modem. I just can't pull up websites. I am wondering if this router (12 years old) is not compatable with the service.

Also applied "Website Blocking by URL Address" and "Website Blocking by Keyword" however some users are now getting access to the internet. I must also mention this settings: Firewall protection it is enable. Router DHCP it is disable and we use static IP address for the PC´S so I established IP range to apply the restrictions. I also try blocking with MAC address of the PC's.Everything else it has default settings. Internet wire goes first to the router and then to the LAN switch. What am I missing?

I just connected 1 computer using the default IP with DHCP on the RV042 router. 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0.I connect my wildblue satalite modem using a static IP address 75.106.203.xxx / 255.255.252.0 I can ping the RV042 router and the static IP address of the wildblue router but I can't ping the gateway on the wildblue side. Either from the PC or the Router diag tools.

What configurations do I need to enter into the RV016 to allow other networks connected to the firewall(192.168.3.0, 192.168.2.0) to access the internet?
I have a problem with the e4200 router and a mybook 1 TB connected to it. The media server works fine but after a while i loose contact with the router and the server this means that the Cisco connect doesn't work, the 192.168.1.1 doesn't work and I can't find the disk via \. I do have internet connection via wifi as im using it now....why I loose connection to the router? The lease time is 24h and it can happen more than once in a day.

All internet both wired and wireless, access to server everything dead. I then have to directly connect to the service port and disable the global multicast mode. Then two reasons for enabling it are Docs2Go and LanSchool both require multicast to be enabled. I have it enabled on our wired network and it works OK there. ted.

What I want to create is a WEB server/ Email server, but to sit on a different subnet - 192.168.5.0. For now I have connected the server to the DMZ port, but I am unable to to access it from WAN, only from LAN. how to configure properly the 2 subnets (192.168.0.0 and 192.168.5.0) and how to forward my static address to the server which I which to be on the 192.168.5.0.

I can receive a call and make a call one at a time. If a second line rings in and is picked up the first call and the second go dead air. I reflashed the firmware with TFTP to 1.52.16.4, and reset for 30 seconds, and re-powered. I am unable to get any response form the web UI. View 1 Replies View Related1. Just got a new DLINK Xtreme N DIR-825 Router. Directly connected this to the internet.
2. Currently, the Linksys WRT54G (1st Generation) is connected to the DLINK by an Ethernet cable to one of the 4 ports on the back.
3. The Linksys further splits the signal to another 2 computers and a NAS by hardwire.
4. The internet is still getting through to all the computers, but the computers are not able to access the NAS or each other.
5. I can't seem to open the WRT54G's access (192.168.1.1) because (I thin) the new DLINK uses a local set of IPs that are 192.168.0.1xx.
I can login to the NAS using its IP, and I can see it on the 'Network Places' of the computers ,but when I try to connect, it says the drive is moved, etc. etc.I use a variety of computers / O.S's on this system: XP (2) hardwired, Win 7 (2) hard wired, Win 7 (1) wireless, Mac OS X Snow Leopard (1) Wireless, plus various other wireless devices (phones,Wii, etc.).

I upgraded from a E2000 to a EA4500 today and I am experiencing slow wired WAN speeds. On my E2000 I get approximately 60Mbps down and approximately 2Mbps up, and when switching over to the EA4500, I can only manage about 20Mbps down and about 2Mbps up. I can switch back and forth between routers and replicate the results every time
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a RV042:Firmware Version : v4.0.0.07-tm (Aug 19 2010 19:19:50)PID VID : RV042 V03 .Configured with a internal LAN address (10.0.17.0/24) and ISP PPPoE External address on WAN1.I´ve configured a VPN with a remote location (Fortigate 4) and after the VPN starts up the RV042 cannot ping any machine in their local network (using the diagnostic, all pings failed in 10.0.17.0/24) and no machines in that network can PING and access or manage the RV042
The only way to manage the RV042 after VPN starts UP is using a machine in the other side of the VPN (The Main office)If i force the VPN down, the connectivity begins to work, but as soon the VPN starts up again, the local/LAN connectivity loses again.

I am using a static WAN address, entered it in the WAN setup area (subnet, gateway, etc.). I do not use DHCP as all the LAN units are static addressed. I rebooted, etc. but cannot see the router externally (I am pinging from a remote site).If I plug my laptop into the WAN cable and set the laptop to the WAN adress, I have no issues. I have checked the cables (all CAT5e shielded), checked both straight through and crossover cables, and have no luck.
