I am using a RV016 (192.168.1.2) as a router and DHCP. It automatically assigns its own IP which is 192.168.1.2. I can not set my RV016 to assign a Default Gateway IP of the server. The workstations will connect to internet via this server (192.168.1.1)

The only problem is that it is not assigning the dhcp clients a default gateway.
I was not able to find it in the Cisco documentation and a google search is not useful either.
I recently swapped out an RV082 with a newer model (still RV082 but black and a different interface). I configured the Gateway to Gateway VPN exactly as it was before but none of the three other RV082's will connect. I have tried deleting the connections several times to no avail. I have aggressive mode disabled and have tried with the firewall on and off. Below are the settings (IP's have been X'd out) and the log.

I cannot ping the computers with static ip configuration.
In local an remote computers who have DHCP ip configuration i can ping each other .
We have a VPN setup between two Cisco RV082 routers, the VPN status shows as connected however I can't ping the other network. I am unable to ping between routers, let alone ping computers behind those routers.
We have 2 branches, branch 1 is on a static IP and branch 2 is Dynamic. I am able to connect via QuickVPN from Branch 2 to Branch 1 and remote desktop to computers, however have yet to VPN/remote desktop in the opposite direction.
To me it seems like a firewall issue at branch 2, but what's causing this. Also they are currently running 2 differnet firmware version not sure if this would cause a problem.

DHCP Server is not enabled on the RV016. We currently have a Windows 2003 Server that is acting as Exchange Server, Active Diretory, and DHCP Server. My issue is that we are running out of IP addresses and I have about 20 or so left to assign. Given the above setting can I make changes to my RV016 to give me more than 256 addresses? If yes what do I need to do and do I need to make any changes on Windows Server?
I have recently implimented an RV016 device into our network. We have a bonded T1 service with Paetec/Windstream (5 static IPs) and also a cable connection with Comcast (no static IP). The T1 has been our primary connection, and our MX and A records all use this IP address. I have the rules set and using a one-to-one NAT setup with our 5 IPs. Everything is working great with the T1 in place and email is flowing with no problems, however when I connect the cable into the WAN2 port and try to send email, its using that outbound connection, rather then the T1 and our spam filter is blocking it. So the email is rejected and we get this message below.

I have been able to successfully establish a gateway to gateway vpn connection between them both, and I can remotely administer each router through the VPN connection, but I am unable to ping computers from one side of the connection to the other. For example, a computer in the 10.10.1.0 subnet can't see / ping / communicate with a computer in the 192.168.1.0 subnet.

We have :DSLT-1 I want to route all VOIP traffic and traffic to one IP address over the T-1, all other traffic I want to route over the DSL. HOWEVER, in the event that the DSL fails, have the DSL traffic failover to the T-1.I have setup the router to do just that (I think) and when I go to a site like "whatismyipaddress.com", it shows my IP as comming from the T-1. With the setup I described that traffic should always route over the DSL.Straight up protocol binding won't work because the traffic I want to route over the T-1 to one specific IP is going to be prot 80 and 443 (web traffic)

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy RV016 does not seem to route traffic that does not originate from the subent that it sits on. For example, I have my RV016 on 192.168.1.1 and a gateway to 192.168.2.0/24 is at 192.168.1.2. None of the traffic originating in 192.168.2.0 is routed by the RV016. I have checked the routing tables and ACLs with no luck. I know the traffic is hitting the RV016 because I setup a packet sniffer. The packets just simply die there. Is this a limitation of the RV016 only being assigned to a single class C? Does it also ignore all internal traffic not from that class C even if the ACLs are open?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have a VPN tunnel setup between our company locations. Location A has Linksys RV016 and Location B has RV082. Everything has been working with no problems for the past 2 years with only minor disconnect issues in the VPN tunnel between the locations.
For the past 2 weeks I have been running into issues with the Tunnel. Users in Location B are reporting problems with losing connection to applications that are hosted in Location A. At first I start with doing a ping to router address in Location B and I get "request timed out". Next I login to router in Location A and under VPN I notice that the VPN tunnel is not disconnect (I see disconnect button). Once I click on Disconnect the screen refreshes and that seemed to restablish connecting with router in Location B. The drop connection has been been going on for the past 2 weeks and only happens once a day specifically between 1 PM and 3 PM EST. I have been reading all over the internet and no luck at all. The VPN tunnel settings are the same on both routers and under Advanced options both Keep Alive and Dead Peer Detection (DPD) are checked.
I am trying to setup an RV016 router to do "1 to 1 NAT". I am starting with setting the external IP address of my RV016 to 10.8.58.219 on the WAN1 port, and LAN IP 10.10.20.254. Simple enough. When I connect my laptop to port1 on the router's LAN side I can ping the router's external AND internal IP addresses fine; But I can not ping from outside when connected through WAN1 port.I am performing a simple local test with an external hub, I put a patch cable from WAN1 port to the hub, another patch cable from port 1 on LAN side to the same hub, and from my laptop to the hub. When I use my laptop's IP address with the internal schema (10.10.20.100 for example) I can ping both WAN1 and LAN IP's; but when I use on my laptop the external IP schema (10.8.58.100 for example) I can not ping it. Therefore is not working when I connect my router to the real network.I went into the web setup pages of the router and dissabled: firewall and basicaly all security "blocks" it has, and leave it open for my testing.
View 1 Replies View Relatedjust purchase this RV016 and the firmware has been updated to 3.0.2.01-tm.Every download I try through the router leads to a curruption somehow, even though the download manager gets it all. If I go straight from the cable modem I have no problems.It's a 4mbps upload and 0.8 downlink from what speedtest shows. I have tried diff DL managers, and get the same result on different connected PC's. The great thing about the RV016 is it speeds up the connection on this cable modem.What can I change to get downloads working?

I rdp into our server 2008 via IP. This is a router on ip 0.1, this is forwarded to my server on IP 0.3. This server was setup with DHCP default gateway of 0.1. We added a new outside connection on IP 0.2. I was talked through the changes so that internal DHCP requests went to gateway IP 0.2 but RDP still used 0.1. I plan on getting rid of 0.1.Where is the setting to change the RDP to use default gateway of 0.2?

When I troubleshoot to see what the problem is it either gives me DNS server is not responding or default gateway is not available, sometimes it will give me both. It says it fixes the default gateway problem but it will show up again 5 minutes later.

I was using those two connection on the same computer. Now i office Network admin came and changed the Setting from the LAN Propertied. he removed the default gateway of my server IP address from DNS Server and he gave that ip address to the Default gateway in the LAN Propertied tab. After which i cannot access the wireless. If i change to ip address to the DNS Server my wireless is working..what is DNS Server and Default gateway..... I have been using the booster for well over a month with no issues whatsoever; however, tonight I attempt to get onto World of Warcraft and I keep getting disconnected every 5 minutes. After I run the diagnostic it fixes the problem and says that the "default gateway not available". I tried restarting the router, restarting the booster, unplugging the wireless adapter, checked the firewall, and also restarted my computer.

The idea is for HomeB which has a dynamic IP, to reach HomeA, which has a static IP and connect. But they just wont. I have not clue what's wrong, I followed the instructions, maybe i miss interpreted something. I could share the VPN logs for both., Im getting a lot of errors there.
How can I change default gateway and DNS's for L2TP type of connection? I've tried to specify them in static IP address first and then switched to L2TP as adviced in one forum, but it didn't work. I don't understand why such settings as Gateway and DNS servers cann't be specified as for PPTP connection. Firmware is 2.0.37.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the Cisco Configuration Professional to add an Easy VPN Server to my 3825. I'm able to connect when remote but I can't ping the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 which is in the same network as the VPN DHCP pool. I can access every single other device on the VLAN segments but not the default gateway which means when i connect I can't look at my router. And there's more, I cannot ping anything offnet (ie 75.75.75.75).
Attached are some images which show some details from the client during the VPN connect and a few from the router (i had to use the lan switch as a jump host). If you can figure this out before I go back to the coffee shop to test this tomorrow I will send you a cake.

I'd like to add a WRT54g2 to my LAN. I'd like it to communicate with my existing LAN router, and not to talk directly to the LAN. Therefore, in Basic Setup, I don't have the top part (Internet Setup) configured. Is that a mistake?But, it seems that when I enable DHCP, it hands out its own IP as gateway, and then doesn't seem to send the traffic on upstream. When I configure clients manually with the real router IP, they work fine.
So, I'd like, I guess, Linksys to forward traffic on a static route to real router. How do I do this? Adding a route to real router yields the error, "maybe default route already exists."
